BB Torch :: Email User Name Not Recognized?
May 3, 2012Trying to setup email and it keeps telling me that User Name must be at least 4 characters......i type 12 but it dosn't seem to recognize them?

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to set up an additional e-mail address, but when I try to access the set up menu, the BB tells me my user name is not valid, and must be at least 4 characters long. The user name I have on record is my gmail address which is much more than 4 characters. How do I proceed to access the set up menu?

I've had my Curve BB for over a month with little to no problems (it stopped 'pushing' to my custom email a couple weeks ago, but I researched and resent the service books, etc. and it worked fine after that). Now, however, it has dropped/removed my two custom email icons. Poof. Gone. One minute they were there, the next, gone. I've already checked to make sure they weren't hidden. They're not. I went into email setting again and it no longer even showed them as having been set up - one of them being my home email that is pushed to my BB and the second being my BB email itself.

The email now has a different username and password, although still the same email address. the emails are now not coming through to my blackberry curve 9300. I've tried to change the user name (in settings, email, login info) but it won't let me edit the field. Should i delete the whole account and start again? They are coming through on my 02email address but that's not very useful to me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn March I was asked to validate my credentials, so I clicked on the link and it took me through to the Verify Blackberry ID page.I changed my email address as I had just got married. However it defaults to my old email address. I change it to my new email address and password but it says 'unable to log in at this time' I can log on through the PC as my new email address and password. It doesnt even recongise my old email address - but always defaults to it on the verify page.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently purchased a used 9900 and have gotten stumped on the following problem. The previous owner's emails are still coming into the general messages inbox.
Since I've gotten the device, I've done a full security wipe (multiple times), upgraded the OS to 7.1.0.402 (1333) and have gone through the service books without any success.
I've contacted the seller, who has in turn contacted Rogers Wireless to remove BIS service from his account (he switched to iphone) however, the messages from 2 of his internet based email accounts (Gmail & Yahoo) continue to be pushed to the 9900.
I've wiped the device (on-baord and via pc), I've re-entered by BBID, I've even attempted to access Rogers BIS activation page however, when I request the password to be resent, it send a blank field in the email.
I have recently had to change my e-mail account passwords. Now in order to change them on my blackberry I am asked to do the following when I go to the set up:

I have 3 e-mail accounts going to this phone and each has a new password. I do not know what my user name is, I set it up 2 years ago...how do I retreive my username? when I click on "forgot password" it says the password has been sent to my phone, but I never receive it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOnly after the action did i remember that i had my bank details on their in the blackberry app store. i went round to delete the info and it wasnt simple. after reading the forums and seeing how to erase the info i am concerned about the message underneath the erase option which states you will not be able to email etc. from this device again.Does this mean until she creates a new blackberry ID for herself ?

This resulted in me getting a new bbm pin etc. I was told that this would work fine, and that I would still be able to use bbm and my wireless internet (such as bbm, twitter, facebook etc) When I called o2 to have my blackberry services reactivated, they told me that "the device cannot be recognized" Now I'm wondering what else I can do. Is there anything I or o2 can do to fix this problem? Or perhaps the shop that fixed my phone?

now when i do a email message it doesnt send when i choose send in any new email message. it seems a bug, because it does not quit of the send option, it appears a little window sending email, but it does not send. then if i try to get out the only options are delete/save to drafts.
if i create a new email account on the 5230 and enter my mail address which looks similiar like this one the mail wizard says that it is invalid. what's wrong here? I updated the phone two days ago. About three weeks ago I upgraded my BB from Curve 9300 to 9380. I copied settings using desktop software and transferred over to my new device. All apps reinstalled fine and I set five email accounts including 3 (business emails) provided through a hosting account with Media Temple. These all work fine and still do.My old phone was to be given to a colleague, so I reset the device and put all setting back to default and followed the process indicated for a new SIM. When we tried to set up email on the old device (9300) it wouldn't work giving an error message stating unable to verify account contact email provider. I am the administrator of the email accounts so I know that the settings are correct., the network provider reset all settings for email etc and BIS account details etc are all correct. The email account works through outlook and can be accessed via webmail and we've tried password change and even deleted and set a new email account up but still the same problem - error message stating user or password incorrect.
I hoped that this was a problem with the settings on the old device (9300) which we could pin down and resolve however it seems not to be as now when I try to set up a new email account on my new device (9380) I get the same problem!User password error - when the details entered are 100% correct and on a device which I successfully set up the same type of email account!
I went into the Appleid and updated the email address there. The problem?? Icloud on my Iphone 4! It does not allow you to change the User ID in settings! I've tried going to store and sign out and sign back in. Did not work!

I am trying to log into Blackberry App world. It brings up my e-mail address automaticaly and when I type in a password it says "unable to validate the email address and password combination". It then gives me the option to try to recover my password and the response I get is "Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server. Verify your network connections and try again". I have been getting this message for weeks. My connection is fine I receive emails every day and I have no problems connecting to the internet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my BB Torch for about a year and it's worked fine with my email.Yesterday out of the blue it stopped receiving my gmail messages (my other email is working fine). But I did get a message "from" Blackberry saying "Action required, update settings for ****@gmail.com to TURN ON THE IMAP SETTING FOR ALL MAIL IN YOUR GMAIL ACCOUNT"My IMAP IS enabled. I tried disabling it, then re-enabling; I've tried removing my gmail account from my BB and recreating it; I've repeatedly "activated" my gmail account on my BB (each time I DO get a confirmation that my account has been activated), I've tried "wiping" my BB and starting over; I've "re-registered" the device on the network, I've deleted my email accounts in BB, removed the battery, reentered and "revalidated" my accounts. Nothing seems to workEach time I go back into "settings", my gmail shows as "invalid account. Please Validate"...I re-renter my passcode, get the acknowledgment that "your password has been successfully validated", immediately followed, again, by the "Action required" message from blackberry. I have repeated the process of setting up my gmail in my BB about 15 times...each time getting the validation confirmation, sometimes getting a message telling me that my account is set up correctly and that I should begin receiving email in about 20 minutes.
