I got the torch and I cant set up my connection to 3G. I saw at my friends torch that he could choose the 3g option or 2g and 3g. At mine its 2g or 3g and 2g. He got a torch 2 but there was no software difference. I updated the new latest os.
My phone provider can not offer me a BIS subscription , and I do not want to change provider. Is there a possibility to obtain a BIS subscription without changing of provider .
I'm taking over my office blackberry as my personal phone and want to delete the BES link and replace it with BIS. How do I do this, or is it easier to get a new phone?
I have a BB9800. I would like to use it as a internet connection, like a dongle, with my laptop. However, my laptop doesn't seem to have a Bluetooth connection, not that I can find anyway.
I figured that the BIS is not connecting through Wi-Fi anymore!
Only works with Vodafone Qatar as a mobile carrier. Thought it was my router problem, so I tried my old router which is Linksys WAG200G while my current is WAG160N and both had same problems. [My ADSL2+ Carrier is QTel which has BlackBerry Internet Service and BES contract with RIM]
Don't know what have caused it, I don't have any 3rd party applications other than Cupture It, I feel this problem started yesterday after downloading Facebook 2.0.0.23 Beta which overwritted my Facebook 2.0.0.19 Beta.Tried to call Vodafone Qatar for support, but they couldn't do anything up till now and they don't allow transfers to RIM Technical Support. and Yes I did a hard reset, even tried leaving batter out for a couple of minutes with no luck. Nothing changes.
I try to use the Wifi network when I am outta own, for example in a hotel. When I get access to the wifi network I cannot use BB messenger o any messenger installed on my blackberry Torch. What can I do? Is there any special parameter to get full access to the wifi (no matter where I am) and so, use the messengers and check emails?
Is there any way to tether my BlackBerry Torch 9800 to my Android tablet or some other way to connect the 2 to use my BlackBerry for an internet connection.
About a week before the first Torch came out, I was invited to a launch party in Toronto and received a free Torch. I've been using it lightly for the past year or so and I hardly downloaded anything in that time.Lately, however, I've been downloading a bunch of apps and today I was informed via text message that I had surpassed my limit of 500 megs.Talking to Rogers support, we discovered that the Connection Preferences button under Network and Connections, then Mobile Network, wasn't there. He said it should be between Mobile Network and Network Selection Mode, which it wasn't.I have no option to have my phone switch automatically to my wireless when I'm back at my apartment, and as a result, it's using my Mobile Network to download everything, hence going over this month.Short of having to turn off my mobile network while I download stuff via my wireless (which means I won't be able to receive calls), what am I supposed to do? The guy on the phone told me to update my software, but I just tried through Blackberry Desktop and it said there was no update available.
My phone, torch 9800 constantly reboots. What do I do? Tried to update software - does not work. When you see "connection with the JVM "phone reboots to infinity, there is an error.
My Torch 9800 has syced with the desktop and laptop with no problems since I got it in late 2010.A fe days ago the above message appeared and neither desktop nor laptop will synce. As far as I can see all software is up to date.
I did the ole drop-in-the-toilet thing. I took out the battery and dried it off right away and put in in rice for several days. The power will come on and I get a 507 error code (occasionally it will come up as code 200 as well). So I tried to reload the software and the connection keeps dropping. It'll go through the modules, then starts uploading the fonts and that's where it freezes up usually if I even get that far. It'll just connect and disconnect randomly.
I have a Blackberry Bold as backup (never got wet, but I haven't turned it on in about a year and a half)) and I tried to install on that one too and it does something similar. I'm wondering are both Blackberries kaput or is it the cable maybe? Or even my computer?
I have paired my torch to my new Buick enclave and everything was good for about a week. Starting last week I have not been able to connect to my vehicle. My phone shows the connection failed.
Am on a BIS service plan with Airtel Malawi. My bbm is working fine but my browser is not functioning.Under service status it is showing the following message"Blackberry Internet Service:Connection Not connected".I Went to my service providers they said that they dont know the problem and they can not fix it.They are saying that my device has a problem which they dont know. Please help.
I just bough the Torch 9860 and already replaced another one for the same problem, and since this second have the same problem, I think it is a general problem. Well the thing is that while the phone is in 3G coverage, it sometimes goes to like a "blocked" state. By this, I mean that the phone states as connected to the network and with full signal, but call wouldn't go out nor in, data is also not available, and the most important thing is that the phone doesn't show any signs of disconnection nor anything problem alike. Up until now, I have only seen this happening while in 3G coverage, and when this problem occurs, I switch the phone to 2G only and starts working fine again.
I have a BB Torch 9860 which connects to my home Wifi fine but does not connect to the internet for some reason. I cannot access the net and get my emails or use a 3rd party browser like opera nor can i do anything. This is a major concern for me as it doesn't matter when i am home but it's amjor concern when i travel abroad.
I know there are separate posts on this subject on connection consistency problems but I can't seem to get an answer to a fundamental question. Is the problem hardware or software related? Since turning off WiFi improves the connection consistency significantly what does that imply? I want to return my Torch of this is a hardware issue.
Recently I bought a new blackberry torch 9860 and I face a serious problem. All social apps like facebook, viber, watsup, and App world losing wireless connection while device is connected to wireless network and just internet browser is working and has connection. When iIpull out the battery and but it again these apps work for while then losing connection again.
Tried everything, battery pull, turning the connection on and off. The router, too... I was trying to access the app world but then again my Blackberry id is not authenticated due to "network problems". However, the rest of the wifi devices here at home are working perfectly. Device says.. "..having trouble connecting to the Blackberry app world server."
I'm trying to download some podcasts, and I'm getting a notice that says "Your connection to the WiFi network is turned off", and the podcasts I'm downloading say "Pending". I've checked my connections and my mobile network and WiFi are both "on".
I've been without BIS for over 3 hours now since i've left my house this morning. It happens everyday and is getting worse Sometimes I lose it for 5 minutes, but 3 hours is ridiculous! I'm still connected to 3G. I can talk on the phone and I can use the browser for internet. But i can't get my work emails and my apps don't work. I tried resending my service books nothing I turned on and off all my services on the phone nothing. I run the connection diagnostics and it says Blackberry Registration: No. I updated to the latest leak .161 and that didn't help.I found a thread on Crack Berry where numerous others are encountering the same issue, so I don't think exchanging the device is going to help. Someone from Blackberry please fix this! This is a serious issue!
I just purchased a new Torch and it will not pick up my wifi connection at home. I upgraded from a Bold to Torch and have not any any issues with the Bold nor my kids Iphones once they input the password. Is there some other setting on the Torch I'm not aware of?
I was running on OS 6.248 but now I want to update it to OS 6.546, but I cant cuz everytime i try to update using the desktop software the update stops at 1230 and i get the error "check your internet connection or try again later".My internet connection is fine there's nothing wrong with it.
I've recently bought a Nokia 5800 xm and have been able to connect it to my home internet using the wlan wifi.
I can only use the wifi if i go to settings>connectivity>wlan. If i go straight to internet, it tries to connect to t-mobile internet. This also happens when trying to use applications such as bbc iplayer and the ovi store.
Is there a way of setting the wifi connection as the default connection? If not, is there a way of setting up my applications so they connect using wifi?
I just received my 808 replaced by Nokia for the 3G bug issue. Now I have been noticing that annoying Connection Failed connection unavailable message every few seconds. Turned the positioning methods OFF and the frequency of the error message goes away but it still pops up every few minutes. I did a hard reset, removed the memory card where most of my apps are installed and it still gives me that same error. Ordered a new SIM to see if that makes any difference - none - Still same error message. That message is so annoying. Anyone have any other ideas that I could try ? Privacy mode is OFF also.
Ok I have a 808 bought it as a camera after it updated it, I get this unacceptable repeated popup"Connection Failed Connection Unavailable".Its like every 30 seconds. Its total black background message occupies valuable screen real estate at the top of the screen and repeatedly hinders normal usage of the device, causing especially unpleasant experience when capturing pictures or video. How do nokia users like me go about disabling this message and continue enjoying the experience of the brand we choose to trust?
