I try to use the Wifi network when I am outta own, for example in a hotel. When I get access to the wifi network I cannot use BB messenger o any messenger installed on my blackberry Torch.What can I do? Is there any special parameter to get full access to the wifi (no matter where I am) and so, use the messengers and check emails?

Now my phone does not connect wirelessly unless I have a wifi connection. I never had to have a wifi connection in the past to receive and send email, connect to the internet, etc.

My wifi used to work just fine but hasn't been working very well this past month to now. Any wifi I connect to has no signal in some spots, but high signal in other spots. For example,I have no signal in my bathroom but have strong signal in the bedroom.This doesn't make sense because my bathroom is literally two feet away from the bedroom. And I know there is nothing wrong with my router because I have the same problem at my friends houses too. This problem is really annoying to deal with so if you happen to know how to fix it, please comment below.

I figured that the BIS is not connecting through Wi-Fi anymore!
Only works with Vodafone Qatar as a mobile carrier. Thought it was my router problem, so I tried my old router which is Linksys WAG200G while my current is WAG160N and both had same problems. [My ADSL2+ Carrier is QTel which has BlackBerry Internet Service and BES contract with RIM]
Don't know what have caused it, I don't have any 3rd party applications other than Cupture It, I feel this problem started yesterday after downloading Facebook 2.0.0.23 Beta which overwritted my Facebook 2.0.0.19 Beta.Tried to call Vodafone Qatar for support, but they couldn't do anything up till now and they don't allow transfers to RIM Technical Support. and Yes I did a hard reset, even tried leaving batter out for a couple of minutes with no luck. Nothing changes.
My BB9700 is not getting connected to IM such as GTalk, YMsgr, Facebook via WIFI. I do know that it requires BIS services but how come Internet websites are getting connected thru browser via same wifi..
View 6 Replies View RelatedOn a embedded PC I've configued a hotspot for mobile devices - any device can connect to WiFi it provides and use it to access websites. However one of our customers told us that he can't use it with Blackberry.Only funcionality we need is website access, no need for UMA or any other extra BB-specific features.First problem we had was that BB couldn't associate to hotspot at all. That is fixed now by disabling 'wmm' on hotspot.Problem that stays open is accessing websites. The browser is set to 'hotspot mode' but whenever i enter url in a browser the request times out. The gateway is correct, DNS-server (gateway itself) is correct too, IP address is assigned correct.I dug into it and i can see that most of DNS queries don't reach the hotspot at all. When i try DNS test utility results are the same - most DNS queries don't reach hotspot. I can see BB exchanging ARP 'who has' APR 'is at' packets and thats all.Ping to my hotspot works when i chose 'WiFi -gateway' (however it responds only once after ~1600ms, later requests time-out). When I try to ping it via IP all request time out (however i can see in logs that ping reaches my hotspot and it responds immediately).Hotspot config is atheros (2413) based wifi card in ap mode. Driver is ath5k from 2.6.38 kernel. I use hostapd to create wifi network and dnsmasq as DHCP/DNS server.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a very annoying problem with my Nokia 5800 XM and the Spotify-app. I updated the app to v. 0.4.3.9 yesterday and it required that I uninstalled the old version first, i.e deleting all my cached tracks. Now today when I'm going to resync (on WLAN, since it's about 500 tracks) it just won't connect. I choose the correct WLAN from the list, but the app continues being blue (not green) and then the list pops up again. I read another discussion about almost the same thing a moment ago, so I tried to go to the menu and check the WLAN connection from its menu. So I did that, and it says my WLAN has full signal strength (I'm right next to the router) but then it loses the connection and asks me again which network I want to use. I have not had any issues with WLAN in any other app, and I have synced tracks with Spotify on my WLAN before, so I have no idea where the problem lies. Maybe something with the update and my WLAN? I don't know...
About the attachments: The list that shows several times and then the WLAN list where I'm connected to my network and it has full strength. "Marsvinsfarmen" is my network.
I have been using my wi-fi without any problem for around a year now on my curve. I now have the wi-fi logo appear dimmed but not connected and never seems to connect for the past 2/3 days. The internet connection is fine as is working on my laptop with no problems, through wi-fi!

It happens everyday and is getting worse Sometimes I lose it for 5 minutes, but 3 hours is ridiculous! I'm still connected to 3G. I can talk on the phone and I can use the browser for internet. But i can't get my work emails and my apps don't work. I tried resending my service books nothing I turned on and off all my services on the phone nothing. I run the connection diagnostics and it says Blackberry Registration: No. I updated to the latest leak .161 and that didn't help.I found a thread on Crack Berry where numerous others are encountering the same issue, so I don't think exchanging the device is going to help. Someone from Blackberry please fix this! This is a serious issue!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just arrived in Germany for a vacation. When I arrived in my room, I connected my Torch to the wifi and was able to use all my data functions. At this time, I had turned off the mobile network, and was strictly using wifi.
This afternoon I picked up a German SIM card and activated it on my phone.Now I cannot use my bbm or facebook, even if I turn mobile network on, or my original SIM card.
My bbm on my torch will not work over wifi, I tried it on 3G and it does work so I know the bbm is set up properly. I checked with my carrier and bbm does work over wifi so dont tell me it won't and I do have a data plan. I know other people with the torch as well and their bbm does work over just wifi. I was on the phone with bell and blackberry for 3 hours, and they cant get it to work either, I tried deleting and re-adding the app and just about everything else i could find. Does ANYONE have any idea how to get it to work
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy BB Torch 9800 has stopped being able to use BBM, emails and a couple more apps through my wifi conection. I am in an area where ther is no network signal, so this service is very essential for me. The internet browser on the phone works ok, and some apps work ok (whats app,facebook). I have been onto O2 and they say evertyhing looks fine at their end, and nothing has accidentally been switched off. My wifes phone (BB Storm with T-Mobile) is still working with BBM ok.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had a blackberry torch for a while now which i had bought in the uk, i have been living in spain since september and have been using the wifi in my house here to bbm and use all the apps etc. I recently went back to the uk to visit and came back to spain yesterday and connected to my wifi... however my bbm, email, fb, and all other apps are not working, however i can connect to the browser! I have tried various things to make it work again, for eg, pulling the battery out, taking sim in and out, making sure the data service is on! The wi fi is definitely connected as the signal bar in the right hand corner is white! Does anybody know how to make it work again, it has always worked completely fine!

I connected successfully to my home network as shown by status on top of home screen. Is there another setting I need to select to 'force" use of my home network? I used to have this in my BOLD settings under browser options, but from what I read the connection switch is supposed to happen automatically on the Torch browser.

However, recently BBM and email have stopped working on my phone. Facebook, the App Store, WhatsApp, etc. all work fine, but BBM and email do not.

I can only use the wifi if i go to settings>connectivity>wlan. If i go straight to internet, it tries to connect to t-mobile internet. This also happens when trying to use applications such as bbc iplayer and the ovi store.
Is there a way of setting the wifi connection as the default connection? If not, is there a way of setting up my applications so they connect using wifi?
Wifi media sync has stopped working for some reason. On the BB when I go to the Wifi Sync it says "waiting for connection to desktop by usb". I've synced it a few times, but it continues to say desktop sync did not complete?
