BB Torch :: 9860 - Unable To Run Internet Based Applications Via 3G Or WiFi
Aug 3, 2012
I am unable to connect to applications like Facebook, App world, Twitter etc. through 3G or Wifi both while web browser works quite fine with both, 3G and Wifi.
When i touch my browser icon or my STL cardinals baseball app icon or anything that has to connect to the internet(accept FB icon, that one works) my phone will do nothing, and i have to press the back key just to use screen. take the battery out and put it back in, that only works for about 2-10 hours before it wont connect again.
My BB torch 9860 was working fine until I upgraded to OS7. Now it reboots on trying to launch almost all apps including camera, maps, google maps, Qype and many other apps downloaded through BB app world. I have tried uninstalling these apps and re-installing them but the same thing happens. I really like the phone and am so disappointed that I can't use it for these applications.
I have a BB Torch 9860 which connects to my home Wifi fine but does not connect to the internet for some reason. I cannot access the net and get my emails or use a 3rd party browser like opera nor can i do anything. This is a major concern for me as it doesn't matter when i am home but it's amjor concern when i travel abroad.
this is about my new torch 9860...it doesnt have any search engine ie google in a default browser...when i tried to add a new search engine, message "address not supported" appeared
i got my bb torch 9860. it was using wi-fi connection. but when i update software it is not using wi-fi at all, when i go to wi-fi dignostic it shows local ip address as missing mean does not shows local ip address.
I purchased BB Torch 9860 before two days and I already have plan for the data package (200 mb). I connected it to my WiFi at home and it shows that it's connected. Now when I'm at home and I want to surf the internet, it's using the carrier data package, but I want it to use the WiFi. I searched all over and I can't find any solution. any help? Notes: On the home screen, I can see my carrier name (Etisalat) and my WiFi network name. When I go to "Manage Connections", it shows that I'm connected to the WiFi network; but I've never seen the WiFi signal icon in blue or green or any color than grey (which means the BB is not using the WiFi at all) I want to set the default internet access as WiFi. but How ?! Some people told me that it will switch automatically between WiFi and data package, but as far as I see, it's not switching at all. I live in a place where mobile signal (service provider) are hard to reach but the fortunate part is I have a wifi connectivity available. I am v7.1 which should support WiFi calling. Now, I have seen through many posts that wifi calling is service provider specific and not all service providers even in US would not support wifi calling. I am just wondering if there are any service providers who support WiFi calling in India. I really wish this feature can be used as it would impact me on connectivity.
i have a problem with my blackberr torch 9860. my phone won't use my wifi connection even though i am perfectly connected with the broght white indication. It also seems to not use my data service plan too, because when i inserted a sim with a registered data plan already, the edge indicator should have become capitalized but it won't. i can't even use my facebook and twitter with it. even the app world is not usable, it keeps on saying "the data service is not operational' i tried using the hard reset and the factory reset but nothing seems to chenge.
I've just received my first Blackberry and have been through the setup. However I am unable to receive or send emails because it says either my password or my email address are incorrect. The email address is definately correct and the password was only set up this morning so that's correct. It's a business email, not BES or Hotmail. Is it my Blackberry password it's asking for or my email password?
how can I turn my BB 9860 completely off? Whenever I press the Power off button from the menu or the hard key, the screen goes off however the phone does not switch off, it just disconnects me from wireless networks and the phone freezes mostly. The only way I am able to turn the phone off completely is by removing the battery. I have tried holding the power off key for a long time but that is of know help.
I have upgraded my old blackberry to a Torch 9860 and my old phone data was transferred, i can access my enterprise email. After downloading the Blackberry App World's latest version i am not able to login to the Blackberry ID account, while my username and password is valid as i am able to log in to the website using the same ID and PW.thing is working except the telphone and enterprise email, i am not able to setup my yahoo email or gmail accounts, coz everytime its leading to the verify Blackberry ID screen and when i key in it says " Unable to login to your Blackberry ID account" its not telling wrong password, there must be something i am missing during the setup process.
Files in the csv format are unable to display in my bb torch 9860, update me any application I need to install to display the csv files. I went thru documents to go (option) when browsing for the file it is not showing csv file in the media card.
I have just recieved my new 9860 and have a recurring problem throughout the phone. The easiest example is when you use apps like facebook for the first time, you see a terms and conditions pop up. At the bottom of this popup is a small blue arrow to indicate there is more to read if you scroll down. I can't scroll down... the cursor just goes off screen.
This problem is persistant throughout the phone in the blackberry side menu, the home page and on web pages. Basically I cannot scroll anything that requires scrolling to view more. The cursor just dissappears off the screen.
I have tried removing the battery (whilst turned on) to no avail. I have tried adjusting fonts (another list that will not scroll) and Orange tech support were unable to help.

I want to control my computer(it just has to use the mouse and keyboard doesn't have to show me the computer screen on my blackberry) with my 8330, is there any FREE applications that do this either with Wi-Fi or Internet? I don't have Bluetooth on my laptop, also if it has USB support that would be nice too(it might eat the battery less
Is there a way to get the Nokia Internet Radio app to play through WiFi Whenever I start it up it just uses 3G and eats up my free allowance, I see no settings to switch it to Wifi though
My phone C3-00 is running on latest update v08.71. I'm unable to upload files on wi-fi. When I start any service like Facebook on opera mini or any browser (I'm also unable to use Mail & Communities via wi-fi) and try to upload file (pic. of max. size 500KB) it shows uploading two times then shows connection failed. I tried it several times but everytime it shows connection failed. But I can easily upload files via GPRS. The Mail & Communities app also runs fine on GPRS but not works on Wi-Fi.
I recently deactivated my Blackberry Bold 9000 (v4.6.0.304 operating system) from AT&T since I ported my cell phone number to US Cellular who had better coverage in my region. I'd like to continue using my Blackberry Bold 9000 as a free wi-fi only internet access device and install the Google Voice app so my kids could text message and make phone calls via the Google Voice app and phone's wi-fi connection. While my BB Bold is able to connect to our home wi-fi network like in the past it doesn't successfully connect to the internet and gives me the following message: "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later."
So I have a Lollipop updated D6633. From what I understand Sony got rid of the Location based wifi support with the new Lollipop release. However I keep on getting an error message every so often as attached, showing that location based wifi has stopped. I also attach what I think is a logcat.
I love Smart Actions, when set-up correctly, it truly makes my smartphone, a smart phone. I do have a question though. Why is it that WiFi MUST be enabled to use location services, and is there anyway to use location services to turn off WiFi when I'm not in range of a usable network? I have WiFi at work and home, but when I'm not at work or home (driving for example) my phone is constantly searching for wifi. Considering that I'm on the road a lot and I go to school at night, that's a lot of time that my phone is both on 4G and Wifi, which almost defeats the purpose of a battery-saving app.
I have a BB Torch 9810. I have been trying to upgrade my Facebook and BBM applications but I receive an error message telling me to log in every time I try to upgrade them. I have tried everything including restoring my phone and I still get the same message.
My Blackberry Pearl 9100 sometimes encounters a problem when try to connect internet over WiFi. The Data services was switched on and APN settings were unchecked. It shows the complete signal strength of my WiFi signal but unable to browse. It hits an error message 'Unable to fconnect to the server'.
The google talk app works when BIS was connected. But, over WiFI it doesnt work.
I am connect to my home router using WIfi. It shows good signal strength. However, I cannot browse Internet. When I click on bb browser, it says cannot connect to server, check with your operator (When Data services are kept off) What shoud I do... OS 6 for torch does not have option of choosing the Hotspot browser in browser settings?
How to do i browse internet using wifi? Also, what applications can I use with Wifi and what all will not work? I am on Airtel network, in India.
why I cannot connect to internet using wifi connection? Before this, I can use my internet via wifi without any problems. Do i need to re-format my device?
I have just got a new 9800 torch unlocked directly from RIM not through my carrier (Rogers). I am having trouble getting internet to work over wifi. I have a bb dataplan since I am upgrading 'maybe' form the 9700. In my house I have poor signle but it is perfect outside and everything seems to work just fine on the rogers network.I have been incontact with rogers and my sim,IMEI are registered with rim (sa indicated with tech support). When I am inside connected to my router I have no internet on the bb but the internet does work on my laptop and desktop one wired one wireless. The wifi says it is connected but there is no UMA indicated but the wifi logo is white there is no browser, facebook etc. Message: "Unable to connect to theinternet, please try again later."
