Pulled the battery on my phone today and now Browser does not have the options to seach via a search engine. Its just an address bar. Ex. If I type yahoo, it will just go to [URL] It used to show the search engines I could use. Also, in the options it would let me choose my default before, now there is nothing in the options about search engines.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using the E72 now. But I have used almost all E-series (with keyboard) and even back to the 9000 series communicators. So far I am still very puzzled why Nokia cannot do a proper and simple search for CONTACTs. eg. John Smith, IBM, (Address) - Australia xxxx, (cell) 901222*******. You type Smith John, and it will return nothing. You type IBM and will return nothing. You type Australia, it will return nothing. You search the cell number say 9012, it wil return nothing why so dumb. I really don't care how it can connect to the internet, or listen to music or anything extra you can think of. It is a phone and the address book is the most often used pcs of software. Pls improve it with GLOBAL, all field search, instant and fast, even telephone numbers should be searchable. How difficult can that be? I am sure if you open the code, a 16 yr old kid can improve it!

For instance, I'll change the default search engine to Bing. That tab will use Bing for searches. If I open a new tab or close and reopen the app, it will use Google for searches again.
I'm using the AT&T S6 with latest 5.0.2 firmware.
I'm not liking Bing very much, and I'd like to know how to switch the default search engine to Google. Or if it is possible. I have the 8530 with Verizon.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a question for the new Torch owners, regarding email in the Torch/OS6.I have read references to HTML emails now taking advantage of the new WebKit engine to render emails more accurately. On the one hand, that sounds great, as the broken up emails were annoying. On the other hand, one of the great advantages of my 9700 over iPhones that I have had is that email is readable on a BB!The iPhone often gets so wrapped up in rendering the email that text can appear super tiny or not wrapped correctly so that there is an absolute ton of horizontal scrolling and no amount of zooming in/out can get it right.Is this now a problem for the Torch? Or has RIM found a way around this. I have read that the browser manages to reformat text to fit the page, so I wonder if RIM have done something similar for emails to circumvent this issue.Basically, is the process of reading emails more involved and more of a pain now, even if more true to the original formatting?

My problem is my phone shows full signal strength and I can't receive not make calls nor messages. I tried to call the service provider for any network problems and they said no problems at all. It happens at ant time of the day. Service center says there no problem on the phone. I just notice that whenever I put the rubber casing on my phone problem occurs.Is there any connection? Now when I'm at home and I want to surf the internet, it's using the carrier data package, but I want it to use the WiFi. I searched all over and I can't find any solution. any help? Notes: On the home screen, I can see my carrier name (Etisalat) and my WiFi network name. When I go to "Manage Connections", it shows that I'm connected to the WiFi network; but I've never seen the WiFi signal icon in blue or green or any color than grey (which means the BB is not using the WiFi at all) I want to set the default internet access as WiFi. but How ?! Some people told me that it will switch automatically between WiFi and data package, but as far as I see, it's not switching at all. When I checked my phone's memory from Options page, I was surprised to get the following information. I then validated the information with an app called "BeInfo Lite". This is very different from the 9860 specification where I should have 768MB RAM and 4GB storage memory.
