BB Torch :: Browser Does Not Have The Options To Search Via A Search Engine
Nov 29, 2011Pulled the battery on my phone today and now Browser does not have the options to seach via a search engine. Its just an address bar. Ex. If I type yahoo, it will just go to [URL] It used to show the search engines I could use. Also, in the options it would let me choose my default before, now there is nothing in the options about search engines.

Jul 9, 2010I am using the E72 now. But I have used almost all E-series (with keyboard) and even back to the 9000 series communicators. So far I am still very puzzled why Nokia cannot do a proper and simple search for CONTACTs. eg. John Smith, IBM, (Address) - Australia xxxx, (cell) 901222*******. You type Smith John, and it will return nothing. You type IBM and will return nothing. You type Australia, it will return nothing. You search the cell number say 9012, it wil return nothing why so dumb. I really don't care how it can connect to the internet, or listen to music or anything extra you can think of. It is a phone and the address book is the most often used pcs of software. Pls improve it with GLOBAL, all field search, instant and fast, even telephone numbers should be searchable. How difficult can that be? I am sure if you open the code, a 16 yr old kid can improve it!

For instance, I'll change the default search engine to Bing. That tab will use Bing for searches. If I open a new tab or close and reopen the app, it will use Google for searches again.

Yahoo Messenger has been installed and use for long time in my 9300. Somehow, in past 2 weeks, I could not login to Yahoo, Yahoo Mail or Yahoo Messenger.
Everytime lgoin to yahoo web, mail or messenger always giving me Username and password is invalid. But for Pop-up mail with Yahoo still working and fine
Several trial has been done in the device, like:
- Re-install Yahoo Messenger
- Uncheck item"Remeber my ID..."
- Trial with several account
With PC Login:
- Through yahoo website account and delete all web related connection
- Login with PC desktop with all the account not any issue and can login perfectly
Of course, regular ceremony by reset, remove battery has been doing as well

Don't tell me to delete/restore my phone because I'm not gonna do that. I have important data on that phone and I'm not gonna delet it just because you can't make something work ok.

Aug 12, 2010I had a question for the new Torch owners, regarding email in the Torch/OS6.I have read references to HTML emails now taking advantage of the new WebKit engine to render emails more accurately. On the one hand, that sounds great, as the broken up emails were annoying. On the other hand, one of the great advantages of my 9700 over iPhones that I have had is that email is readable on a BB!The iPhone often gets so wrapped up in rendering the email that text can appear super tiny or not wrapped correctly so that there is an absolute ton of horizontal scrolling and no amount of zooming in/out can get it right.Is this now a problem for the Torch? Or has RIM found a way around this. I have read that the browser manages to reformat text to fit the page, so I wonder if RIM have done something similar for emails to circumvent this issue.Basically, is the process of reading emails more involved and more of a pain now, even if more true to the original formatting?
