View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a Blackberry Curve 8900. I'm on a network in Ireland called Meteor but my phone is an unlocked Orange UK phone. Last week Meteor starting supporting Blackberrys but i have no service books on my phone for Internet or MMS. I can't log into Meteor or Orange BIS website to get the service books and i don't have E-mail Setup on the handset to get them that way either. I have rang Meteor and Orange and neither seem to know how to get my Internet and MMS up and running. I don't think that it has anything to do with Orange anyway seeing as the phone is unlocked and I've been using it on the Meteor network for the past year just without certain functions. I've tried a battery pull and I've tried the Register Now function through the Host Routing Table option. Nothing seems to work and it's really starting to bother me.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've tried just about every trick in the book to get my BB to use the internet and BBM.
o2 say that all settings on the phone and their internal networks are correct. I send off to register the device, I never recieve a message back from BIS
I've been trying to get this sorted for 7 days now and I am so close to throwing the thing in the bin. Are there any RIM/Blackberry employees on this board that can take a look at it or tell me why the service book message just isn't being sent?
FWIW I bought this phone off a friend, on the same network and PAYG and everything worked fine with their sim, I put mine in and it just won't work, no matter what.
I've wiped, reset, downgraded OS, upgraded OS, gone over all settings, talked to o2 online, by phone, in store god knows how many times, and all i get is "register the device" IT DOES NOT WORK!
EDIT: I have an active blackberry bolt-on/data plan with o2
So, is anyone running the Hybrid OS 5.0 on their 8330 on the Verizon Wireless?I read where someone suggested the Verizon's Service Books don't support the OS and possibly the GPS would not work.

I have downloaded and installed combined 3 and still no results. in the desktop manager it shows 23 SB but only installs 5-6 SB. I have the latest software and still only a partially functional boost berry.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got my BlackBerry Curve 8520 a few days ago and discovered that I cannot receive service books. The icon for my mailbox for my supposedly created email does not appear on my phone after creating it on the BIS. I tried resending service books a thousand times already but nothing. No icons for email showed up on my phone's home screen and not a single service books received. I tried pulling out the battery already, deleting my email and re-adding it up on the BIS, had my account deleted on the BIS and registering my phone again but nothing seemed to work. I still cannot receive service books and no email icon seemed to appear. I even updated the OS of my phone to v5.0. Everything on my Blackberry is working except for my email and service books problem. I also tried going to Options > Advanced options > HRT > register. I also did a Wipe Handheld on my device but nothing changes. My data plan is active and GPRS is in all caps.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an 8350i on Nextel and i have loaded OS 5 onto it. (a little background incase you arent aware.. Nextel has not yet released OS 5 but SouthernLinc has and ive been using SouthernLincs version of it for the 8350i for about a month or so with NO issues) I really dont want to have to reload my OS back to 4.6 as there are some major upgrades on 5.0 for the 8350i. You guys think it might be that im running OS 5? I also have the "Boostberry" configuration (aka i have a normal nextel data plan instead of a bb plan) ive had this for about 6 months atleast now without any troubles. So 3 times over the week or so ive turned on my device and had it "register with the network" then i go to compose a sms message or place a call and i get service book not found errors. I reload the service books and it works great for a few days then it happens again. You think its because of running Southernlincs OS 5 thats just not causing me issues or any other ideas of what it may be?? I dont want to downgrade back to 4.6 and spend an hour loading everything just to find out that wasnt my issue.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem since yesterday. Out of the blue my 9700 (5.0.0.442, free device, Vodafone Germany) can no longer connect to the Internet. The connection to the BIS, however, is still there. It lacks only the right service books. Vodafone said that I should do a software update -> so I installed 5.0.0.536. But the problem persists. The Vodafone-BlackBerry support is then determined that posting the service books hang in a "queue" and can not be delivered. They created a new BIS account for testing, even there the problem exists. My carrier says I have to replace the 9700. But I don't think, that this is a hardware problem.
Sounds more like a software problem to me, because some service books still arrive:
Wi-Fi TCP / IP Browser
Wi-Fi TCP / IP Transport
Save Self VPL
D2 WAP 2.0
Wap Push Config
Vodafone DE MMS transport
Provisioning
Akkupulls, resending service books, wiping and new firmware install brought no improvement. I just despair.
Every data connection with no BIS requirement works. (e.g. weather apps)
I am heading out on a cruise next week and i was hoping to easily turn off my primary email accounts, but leave on a secondary one that my office can used only when needed. I am a very heavy email user and at .02 cents a kb, I would need a mortgage to pay for all that email. Will deleting the service books for these accounts stop the email from coming in until I can download all email to my laptop; and then download service books?I am a longtime bb user, but the new BIS interfaces do not have a way to turn specific email accounts on and off like they used to.
View 10 Replies View Relatedgot myself into a bit of a tight spot here. i bought the bold 9700 in malaysia but want to use it in china. but apart from subscribing to china mobile's blackberry service, can i use the bold 9700 without their email enterprise service?
i have checked all the menus and options a gadzillion times, but there seems to be no way around setting up an email without going through the enterprise service.so, i just want to confirm that before i decide to either dump the phone or subscribe with china mobile's blackberry service

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to export my contacts to Outlook, but as I have 2 address books in my Curve 8900, linked to 2 different mails, the desktop manager just exports one of them.
One email account works perfectly (that is the one that exports the contacts), but the other is no longer valid, so I cannot manage it as I cannot access neither.
Is there any way to select those contacts as a block, and copy them even in the SIM or through the Desk top manager?

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I have been getting a problem with my 9700 Blackberry. When I make or receive calls, I can not hear anything out of my handset. The person on the other line can hear fine (Usually with me going Hello Hello a million times!) The only time I can hear anything is when I have my bluetooth on or switching it to speakerphone.
I tried doing the soft reset (battery pull when the phone was still on) ...still nothing. Although it did work a couple of times. Its on and off, but recently the situation has gone from bad to worse.Anyone out there with the 9700 with the same issue? It's really annoying and I do use the phone a lot for important calls.
My handset has been blocked to o2 despite having asked for a PUC code. I have attempted to take it to phone shops to unblock the handset but it seems to be completely locked onto o2.I have transferred the number to Tmobile. However, both the sim cards cannot be read by the handset.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife is sitting next to me with an iPhone 6 and never has an issue sending sms from our house. I can get a message out 25% of the time with my Galaxy S5? My old S3 never had this issue. Does the antenna stink on my S5, or is there another issue?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to send text messages (but I can receive them). I'm told by my carrier that I need to change my service center number (and they provided it). I've been looking all over the phone for this option, and can't seem to find it. I keep seeing posts saying "On your device: Options > SMS > Service Center." But "service center" does not appear when I go to options>SMS text. I see the following; screen options conversation style: show names: message options priority: callback number: disable autotext: so my question is;, where do I find this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWould it be possible to add a "send" button at the bottom middle for service command view?Service command is the menu you get when you phone a *123# number for example.Currently you have to select your number/option by typing it and then select "Options" and select send. There are just two buttons currently in that view (Back and Options) on the Symbian Belle interface. My old Nokia had a dedicated send button Anyway, would really make things easier because these type op menu's are used by the mobile banking sites and to check my cellphone account balances.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm sadly and hopelessly addicted to Circle Popper. Recently I had to replace my 8300 handset with another identical 8300. The new one's OS didn't have Circle Popper and I can't find it anywhere, probably because it's so old, simplistic, and outdated, all reasons I like it! Can anyone help me determine how to move it off my old handset onto my new one? Also have a move to the Bold 9700 coming up, so will need to do it again probably.

View 7 Replies View RelatedDesktop manager informed me that there was an update available, so I opted to go ahead with it.Version 5.0.0.411 installed successfully and all data was restored.
Phone does everything except receive incoming texts - voice, email are working fine. Vodafone suggested downgrading to the version 4, so I got 4.4.6.1.310 by following links from Vodafone's web site.Still no incoming texts, more time talking with Vodafone conclude it's a problem with the handset.Their third level support people say it's a return to base "for zapping".
