My wife is sitting next to me with an iPhone 6 and never has an issue sending sms from our house. I can get a message out 25% of the time with my Galaxy S5? My old S3 never had this issue. Does the antenna stink on my S5, or is there another issue?
View 1 RepliesThe phone shows 3g and full bars of service, but whenever I try to call with it, there's no sound until the "call failed' tone goes. No ringing, nothing. The tone plays fine, as do music and videos, but texts and calls cannot be sent or received. Considering it got wet recently (I stuck in rice for a few days), there may be some corrosion or something.

Own 2 Photons, both show roaming indicator and comparable numbers of bars (in a given spot) while in a Verizon (CDMA) area. One phone can make/receive calls and has 3G service and the other one can't 99.9% of the time. All relevent phone settings (domestic roaming/ data enabled, PRL/profile updates, etc.) are identical on both phones. In all other respects, both phones operate the same and without problems. Is this a Sprint network issue or a Moto phone issue?
View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter months of no problems my Lumia 1020 is suddenly misbehaving: the cell signal strength is fluctuating all over the place, from no service to 5 bars, sometimes it even switches to Edge. It will stay at a given strength for a while (tens of seconds) and then change.
Some symptoms:
- I'm using it on Straight Talk (AT&T towers), but I see the same thing with a T-Mobile sim.
- The same two sim cards work fine in my old iPhone 4
- It keeps happening as I bike around town, so it's not just an area with weak signal
- A soft reset doesn't fix it.
- I'm running WP8.1 Dev Preview, latest update (I think that's update 3?)
- Everything else works (wifi, bluetooth)
My phone doesn't send or receive any SMS or phone calls even with full service bars available. For out going texts, the "sending bar" never completely loads. For some reason, this only happens in my city. I was away in London for the weekend and it worked perfectly fine as soon as I left the vicinity of my city. When I got back to my home, it stopped working again. I don't know if this is a coincidence, or if it just doesn't work.

I use Verizon Message+ for texting, and my phone says "failed" every time I try to send a picture message. It's really annoying, and from what I can tell, it's a fairly common problem with LG phones on Verizon.
I've tried resetting the app and changing settings, but nothing seems to work.

The phone says it sent just fine and everything is rosey but the email recipients never get it. Once in a great while one WILL go thru however. The rest are stuck in limbo somewhere. View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Galaxy S5 was bought new and boxed on August 6th. After 5 weeks it started playing up as the ringtone would play over and over with every new notification (FB, Twitter etc) meaning I had to turn the phone off. A reboot and Zedge app delete sorted this out however now I find I cannot sent text messages but I can receive them. I can also post on all social media but not send a text.
I have twice restored the phone to factory settings which solves the problem for about a week, then it returns. I'm on 4G with Unlimited Texts and I'm not over my allowance. To date I have tried the following which didn't work....
* Switched the phone off then back on
* Installed the latest software
* Switched to Flight Mode then back again
* Checked the text message centre number (+447782000800) is correct
* Restored phone to factory settings (twice)
* Removed WhatsApp
* Removed all music and video media
I managed to get my text service up and running (so far) by clearing the message cache. Here is how to do it on Samsung S5 APPS - SETTINGS - scroll down to APPLICATIONS - APPLICATION MANAGER - scroll across the screen to the left to the 'ALL' menu - scroll down to MESSAGES - CLEAR CACHE. Finally re-start your phone to allow changes to take effect.
