View 5 Replies View RelatedBug: 9790: Wikitude does not work and cannot be upgraded
Priority: Low (Guess nobody is going to use Wikitude now anyway)
Severity: Low
Note: I understand that this is not a RIM application, but this is a pre-installed application in BlackBerry Bold 9790, so please take care of this. I tried to document the issue as much as possible.I cannot re-test, simply because I don't know how to install old-version. So these are the steps I went to reach to the bug:
1) have a 9790 Bold with the BlackBerry OS 7.0 as it was officially sold
2) upgrade to Bundle 2466 (7.0.0.609, platform 9.16.0.77)
3) fully upgrade all official RIM software from AppWorld (Protect, Facebook etc)
4) setup the phone to use the location services
5) launch Wikitude OBSERVE:Wikitude starts and appears window "Version no longer supported. Please update" and button "OK"
6) click button "OK"OBSERVE: Wikitude closes and opens browser with URL:[URL]Two button appears: "Download" and "Cancel" and checkbox "Set application permissions"
7) check the checkbox "Set application permissions" (same end-test result is observed with this checkbox unchecked)
8) click button "Download"Observe: window appears: "Wikitude: Wikitude GmbH contains a module called Wikitude. A module with that name already exists in the "Wikitude" application. If you proceed "Wikitude" will be replaced by Wikitude:Wikitude GmbH. Proceed?"
Buttons "Yes" and "No" appear.
9) click button "Yes"Observe: Download process starts, downloading file with 4366kb size Observe: after successful download a new window appears with message "Error" and buttons "Ok" and "Details".
10) Click button "Details"Observe: New window with message "Invalid COD" appears and buttons "OK" and "Copy"
11) Click button "OK"Observe: Window is closed and "Wikitude" application is not installed.
Last night the Icon to make the OS upgrade of my Bold 9930 appeared on my cellphone menu panel and I did it. My current SO is the 7 and it said was going to upgrade to the 7.1 version. After it downloaded the 50 Mb file, it started to Backing Up the Data and since then, 6 or 8 hours ago, it is STUCK on the Social Feeds (3%). I wish I hadn't made the stupid upgrade. My cellphone is indispensable to do my job, now I'm also STUCK. I'm trying the update with the BB connected to my Laptop using the Blackberry Device Software, but it is STUCK too.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my bold 9000 to os 5.0.0 last night and it is now in constant reboot cycle. I let it do all it needed to do whilst connected to pc blah blah blah and it now it just reboots all the time. Gets past the loading bar and then goes to the vodafone screen, then screen turns black, red light comes on, over and over and over again. However, when I plug it in to either my mains charger or the pc, it will boot up OK. Any help would be appreciated as it will soon be going out the window!! Or back to the shop.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to upgrade my BB Bold 9700 via the blackberry automatic web site. I also have downloaded the 9700 software from TMobile. I have upgraded and restored my BB9700 3x now and each time after upgrading, it prompts that my SIM card is invalid, and thus I do not get any service. I can restore my BB9700 to an older version, then everything works just fine. I don't get why I am unable to upgrade to the newest 5.0 software though?
I've tried the upgrade via the Desktop Software...
I've tried the upgrade via the Blackberry Website auto update button...
I've tried the upgrade via TMobile's bbugrade site as well...
All tries do the same, my SIM card after the upgrades is "Invalid"...Does anyone have any answers on how to fix this, or do I have to stay with the older versions to keep my phone working.
I just upgraded BBM to the latest version but now, I can't view my chat history with my contacts. However, when I plug my BB in to my computer, I can find the .csv files that have the history for each of my contacts. How can I make it so that I can review the history of each contact in BBM?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a BB 9900 that is only a week old.The BB works perfectly, that is until someone calls me.I can answer the phone, hear and speak with the person on the other end - no issues. I can use BBM, texting etc, no issues. The problem occurs when I try to hang up after someone calls me. The phone freezes.I can press the hang up button, but it does not return to the main screen. It freezes at the caller ID screen and I have to yank the battery out of it to get back to the main screen that has all the icons on it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe trackpad on my Bold 9700 stopped working last night. It scrolled but would not register being pressed. Followign advice elsewhere on this site, I downloaded the desktop manager and backed up the device, then installed a new operating system (version 6).
Now nothing on the BB is working. It is stuck on the terms and conditions screen that starts "This handheld device includes software that it proprietary and confidential to Research In Motion Limited. . ." I can see there is a blue arrow at the bottom, implying I need to scroll down and accept the terms and conditions, but as none of the keyboard is responding, I can't do this.
Today, I signed up for Blackberry Email Service with T-Mobile. I got a message that an update was available, so I downloaded and installed it. However, when the Blackberry rebooted after the installation, (which seemed to take much longer than normal), the screen reads "Blackberry Platform 6.6.0.195" followed by a listing of all of the programs and apps on the Blackberry. There's also an error message that reads, "Uncaught Exception: java.lang.Null Pointer Exception". When I click "OK" there is another message reading, "Uncaught Exception:ApplicationRegistry.wait For(0xbfca09409ffe99e5) timeout. Then I get another reading, "Uncaught Exception:java.lang.Error" Every application on the list seems to have an error, and nothing will open. But I can't even shut the phone off. I have tried all of the four different reboot methods, but nothing seems to work.
I am wondering if I were to sync the Blackberry with the Blackberry Desktop Manager on my lpatop if it would reset the OS to the way it was before the update.
I tried to upgrade the software on my 9900.It downloaded well. Once it started installing it, the 9900 froze at 3% backing up social feeds. It has been like this for hours. I have no use of my phone. how to unfreeze it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy second BB bold 9930 is frozen. It stops on either the 1 - Verizon startup screen OR 2-BB home screen, depending on what happens after rebooting. Completely unreponsive to all buttons except reboot when on BB home screen.
I have done the following: soft reboot, multiple soft reboots, hard (battery) reboot. AND...Because the phone is completely stuck, my BB desktop software manager can NOT read/connect to phone...."connecting to phone".. If NOT, can I somehow retrieve the information located on 'my device'...as opposed to stuff stored on media card?
I've been using my BB Bold 9700 for a long time now...have not had a single problem with it. Yesterday desktop manager suggested i upgrade from OS5 to 6...since i did this my phone refuses to start up, it goes no further than the blackberry loading screen. i suppose i need to downgrade back to OS5, but my phone wont even connect to my computer. tried hard booting, soft booting and resetting device, as well as using the "alt+shift+delete" and even double delete shortcut.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI can't close PDF to go on my Bold 9930. I can shut the screen with the end button. Selecting choose with the menu or go back does nothing. Every time I choose the Documents to Go icon, I get a blank frozen PDF to go screen. If I click a PDF file, I get an error screen that says I have to close a dialog box that is still open. This is the Documents to Go that came with the 9930.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to update the OS on my BB Bold 9700, as suggested by the BB Deskyop Sofware. The update started and seemed to be progressing but about 3/4 of the way through it is frozen at "Loading module"net_rim_speech_data_en_US.cod".
What should I do? The system warns "do not disconnect your device or stop this process as it could make your device unusable"
Later: I solved this problem by disconnecting the phone from the PC and downloading the OS6 package from the Blackberry.com/Downloads site, re-installing the Blackberry Deskop Sofware and re-starting the update process, this time with all power saving on the PC turned off.
I have just tried to add another email account to my blackberrt but when I clock on the setup it does not move to the next screen. It is stuck, does anyone know why this maybe the case?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my BB Bold 9700 for about six months and love it for the most part.Just recently, the trackpad stopped being responsive as far as being able to move the selector bracket (cursor?) around to select an icon for a program or even move the cursor within any program. At first, waiting a little bit would help. Then turning it off and on with the red key worked. When that stopped working, I did a battery pull and it worked a few times. Then when that stopped working, I did a battery pull and held the escape key (the arrow that does the uturn right?) which I understand from the threads that I have read is BB safe mode. This did not help. Now it is frozen and I cannot get it unfrozen. The last thing I did was load a game (Final Fantasy), but I have been playing that for over a week with no problem then, out of the blue, this problem started yesterday.
