I've been using my BB Bold 9700 for a long time now...have not had a single problem with it. Yesterday desktop manager suggested i upgrade from OS5 to 6...since i did this my phone refuses to start up, it goes no further than the blackberry loading screen. i suppose i need to downgrade back to OS5, but my phone wont even connect to my computer. tried hard booting, soft booting and resetting device, as well as using the "alt+shift+delete" and even double delete shortcut.
The trackpad on my Bold 9700 stopped working last night. It scrolled but would not register being pressed. Followign advice elsewhere on this site, I downloaded the desktop manager and backed up the device, then installed a new operating system (version 6).
Now nothing on the BB is working. It is stuck on the terms and conditions screen that starts "This handheld device includes software that it proprietary and confidential to Research In Motion Limited. . ." I can see there is a blue arrow at the bottom, implying I need to scroll down and accept the terms and conditions, but as none of the keyboard is responding, I can't do this.
I tried to upgrade the software on my 9900.It downloaded well. Once it started installing it, the 9900 froze at 3% backing up social feeds. It has been like this for hours. I have no use of my phone. how to unfreeze it.
this morning I have attempted to upgrade the software on my new Bold, Nearly 6 hours later the phone is still showing 16% done and hasnt done anything since. If you turn the handset off it starts again with the same screen showing download in progress. No functions can be used at all, Tmobile ( provider ) are no use and i cant get any troubleshooting advice from the Blackberry website
It said I would not be able to use my phone for 2 hours if I did the upgrade so I clicked ok. Two hours passed and the upgrade was still at the 10 % backup process. I took my battery out to hope I could use it again but it starts up and own the exact same thing. Goes to 10% and freezes out.
Did the latest wireless software upgrade for Storm 2 9950 last night and my phone has been frozen on white page showing 44% download all night. Took battery out for 10 mins - didn't work. Shut phone off - didn't work. Once the phone is back on it goes directly to the white page.
When I use the "Manage Connections" screen to turn on/of wi-fi or mobile network connection, the smart phone's screen get frozen and then a compulsive restart is performed.
I put the phone in bedside mode then drop it in the cradle and when I wake up the clock is gone and the phone is frozen. It won't let you do anything not even shut it off, I have to do a battery pull.
I tried to fix the problem by follow the suggestion on the internet by press and hold "home" for 2 seconf then press home and power for 10 secs. Then continue pressing home for 30 mins but it is not work for me. After doing this for several times, now I cannot even turn on my i4s.
Just attempted to upgrade to OS 5 and all was going well up until the phone re-booted, blackberry on the phones screen with a loading bar that stuck 3/4 the way for a good half hour, i disconnected, battery pulled and phone just wont load past 3/4. DM says it waiting for device to start?
I'd really appreciate knowing if anyone has a fully functioning 9000 after upgrading to 5.0.0.822. Perhaps they can help those of us who can't get ring tones without routine battery pulls.
While using it tonight it froze with the screen on. Holding down the power button failed to restart the phone. Using a pointed object on the SIM slot power button also failed: no vibrations, no change to the phone. The Sony Bridge for Mac program did not detect a device was connected.
I currently have the curve 8520.I was using my fully functional bb which is 100% in good condition and suddenly the trackpad stopped working. i could only use the blackberry button, the back button, the call and hang up buttons and the keyboard.Assuming it was just in need of a reboot, i rebooted it and suddenly none of my buttons worked (every single button including the keyboard and buttons above)suddenly, now my mobile network has been turned off and theres no way of turning it on because nothing works!
In process of downloading new updates to Torch 9800 it stopped with instructions to:unplug device,go to Control Panel .... Device Manager/USB Root Hub/allow computer to turn off device ...plug in device...It then repats the same process again and again with same instructions. I've turned everything else off on computer, but now BB is frozen and still no upgrade complete.
I have a BB 9900 that is only a week old.The BB works perfectly, that is until someone calls me.I can answer the phone, hear and speak with the person on the other end - no issues. I can use BBM, texting etc, no issues. The problem occurs when I try to hang up after someone calls me. The phone freezes.I can press the hang up button, but it does not return to the main screen. It freezes at the caller ID screen and I have to yank the battery out of it to get back to the main screen that has all the icons on it.
my blackberry froze so I tuck the battery out to do a reboot now its stuck on reboot 3/4 I have done EVERYTHING tried loading new os, I've whipped my phone put a new os.
Today, I signed up for Blackberry Email Service with T-Mobile. I got a message that an update was available, so I downloaded and installed it. However, when the Blackberry rebooted after the installation, (which seemed to take much longer than normal), the screen reads "Blackberry Platform 6.6.0.195" followed by a listing of all of the programs and apps on the Blackberry. There's also an error message that reads, "Uncaught Exception: java.lang.Null Pointer Exception". When I click "OK" there is another message reading, "Uncaught Exception:ApplicationRegistry.wait For(0xbfca09409ffe99e5) timeout. Then I get another reading, "Uncaught Exception:java.lang.Error" Every application on the list seems to have an error, and nothing will open. But I can't even shut the phone off. I have tried all of the four different reboot methods, but nothing seems to work.
I am wondering if I were to sync the Blackberry with the Blackberry Desktop Manager on my lpatop if it would reset the OS to the way it was before the update.
My second BB bold 9930 is frozen. It stops on either the 1 - Verizon startup screen OR 2-BB home screen, depending on what happens after rebooting. Completely unreponsive to all buttons except reboot when on BB home screen.
I have done the following: soft reboot, multiple soft reboots, hard (battery) reboot. AND...Because the phone is completely stuck, my BB desktop software manager can NOT read/connect to phone...."connecting to phone".. If NOT, can I somehow retrieve the information located on 'my device'...as opposed to stuff stored on media card?
prior to this freezing of my phone i was playing music and i was trying to check out a picture a friend sent to me, i downloaded a couple of apps like screen grabber, picstory, naija pings, bible and a few stuffs and took picures with it all of a sudden when i was chatting with a friend it went off completely and never came back on what do i do
My blackberry bold 9000 turned itself off, which it has been doing alot. Then as it started to reboot a battery sign with a red X through it came up and is frozen at only half of the loading bar. And also the red light is not on.Connect Storm to wireless router for printing?
I can't close PDF to go on my Bold 9930. I can shut the screen with the end button. Selecting choose with the menu or go back does nothing. Every time I choose the Documents to Go icon, I get a blank frozen PDF to go screen. If I click a PDF file, I get an error screen that says I have to close a dialog box that is still open. This is the Documents to Go that came with the 9930.
I am attempting to update the OS on my BB Bold 9700, as suggested by the BB Deskyop Sofware. The update started and seemed to be progressing but about 3/4 of the way through it is frozen at "Loading module"net_rim_speech_data_en_US.cod".
What should I do? The system warns "do not disconnect your device or stop this process as it could make your device unusable"
Later: I solved this problem by disconnecting the phone from the PC and downloading the OS6 package from the Blackberry.com/Downloads site, re-installing the Blackberry Deskop Sofware and re-starting the update process, this time with all power saving on the PC turned off.
I have just tried to add another email account to my blackberrt but when I clock on the setup it does not move to the next screen. It is stuck, does anyone know why this maybe the case?
