So i tried updating to 5.0.0.822 and it froze during the update process on the AT&T logo screen for two hours. At this point it seemed like a lost cause so i pulled it but now i cant connect to it or do much of anything.
View 4 RepliesI recently did a software update on my Blackberry Bold 9000 when prompted by my desktop manager to do so. After the update the phone began running slowly. I then delete a couple applications off the phone such as Myspace and Facebook to free some memory. Then phone had to be rebooted to complete deletion. After reboot, the phone screen turned white and froze. To unfreeze I had to remove the battery. When I put the battery back in, it would not turn on anymore. Could the update have fried the phone altogether?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my bold 9000 to os 5.0.0 last night and it is now in constant reboot cycle. I let it do all it needed to do whilst connected to pc blah blah blah and it now it just reboots all the time. Gets past the loading bar and then goes to the vodafone screen, then screen turns black, red light comes on, over and over and over again. However, when I plug it in to either my mains charger or the pc, it will boot up OK. Any help would be appreciated as it will soon be going out the window!! Or back to the shop.

My current SO is the 7 and it said was going to upgrade to the 7.1 version. After it downloaded the 50 Mb file, it started to Backing Up the Data and since then, 6 or 8 hours ago, it is STUCK on the Social Feeds (3%). I wish I hadn't made the stupid upgrade.My cellphone is indispensable to do my job, now I'm also STUCK. I'm trying the update with the BB connected to my Laptop using the Blackberry Device Software, but it is STUCK too.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI dropped my BlackBerry Bold 9000 on the weekend and damaged the LCD screen. The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.

I have started the process and as the device was about to restart it indicated software update failure and now my BB is stuck in boot mode and won't go further.What is the solution? I have recon that I will be loosing all my data on it regardless of what I am doing but right now the device won't go pass the booting screen.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy bb bold 9000 is stuck at the verify security software ..... it is at 100% security tests passed and it just didnt disappear as normal. I can't do anything with my bb. Oh i can hold on the bb button to look which program is running. I can push the dial button but just cant dial... i cant scroll or type anything. I faced this problem out of no where when i reboot the bb last night. i left it like that whole night thinking that i might need times.
I tried battery pull and alt+right shift+del to reset... it still not work... the OS version is 5.0 already,
I have a torch 9000. Tried to download an app. Had to upgrade App World first. After installing, nothing. Icon is gone. Wasted an hour trying to find solutions on line. Tried them all. Uninstall. Hard reboot. Soft reboot. Removed battery will BB was on, did fresh download, etc. No progress.
View 1 Replies View RelatedPhone needed a battery pull last night as it froze in the middle of sending a picture message. This happens a LOT I'm afraid. Typically, it boots right up, loads the software, my screen comes up, my icons come back and I'm in business. I am stuck in a boot loop it seems. The BB logo comes up, the bar loads about 2/3 of the way, then the red light comes on and it shuts off. Phone starts back up and does the same thing over and over and over. It also won't turn off (unless I just pull the batter out, but when replaced, the same thing keeps happening). I can't load the OS again through the BB Desktop Manager because the process is halted each time the phone turns itself off again.

So I reset the phone and now its stuck on apple logo and doesn't change. periodically it will give me a white spiral on the bottom of the apple logo but that is it. View 6 Replies View Relatedmy screen froze on my 1020. None of the "screen" buttons would work but the physical side buttons would. I rebooted a couple of times (depressing the power and volume down). It worked once but then froze up again. Taking out the sim and putting it back in seems to reboot the phone, which works, sometimes, but freezes up again as soon as the screen lock is activated.

I am currently using the latest release of 5.0 and last night my phone was working fine. When I woke up this morning, my screen had the "App error 205" message on it. That is two failures in one month now and I have to go to work in a few minutes so I won't even have time to wipe my device to at least have a working phone for the day. Does anyone have an idea why this junk keeps happening?
View 5 Replies View Relatedsince installing .411 my Bold hasn't had a single problem, apart from one. Every now and again, I will notice it light up, the screen and keyboard both turn on. After a couple of seconds, it will dim out as it would after use.
I have a windows mobile phone and before I receive a text message, that is exactly what that does, but I receive nothing when the Bold lights up? The only fix I have is to put it into bedside mode as it doesn't seem to happen when in that state....
I have a Bold 9700 for personal use and a Bold 9000 for work. On my 9700 there is an option to change my home screen layout from "Zen" (which seems to be the default setting) to "Today" which lists my messages and calendar on my home screen. Obviously this would be much more useful on the handheld I use for work but I cannot seem to find this layout option on my 9000. Is it available?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI thought it would be a problem with the trackball, however, the trackball moves in all directions. The cursor and on-screen highlights do not. I am allowed to move in all directions on the screen except down. This hinders me from reading mails and moving to other applications/areas in order to even troubleshoot the problem myself. When i move the trackball left or right, the cursor moves left or right. When I move the trackball up, the cursor moves up. When I move the trackball down, the cursor moves UP! What could be the problem here. The thing just isn't working.

So I am writing everything down as a memo on my BB.Is there a way to set this memo as a home screen so I am always concious of what I am spending? lol. When I had a Sony Erricson many moons ago you could set a memo as home screen and you could still see the picture I had set as the home screen but you could faintly see the text over the image if that makes sense?
I am hesitant to change one of the Shortcut Keys on the side to Memo Pad because I use them a lot for camera and calendar.
I cannot find my BBM icon, it's not on my screen. I've downloaded the programme a few times and the icon still does not apper, although every time I download the programme it tells me that I already have BBM.....where's the Icon gone?

I still have not been able to turn it on, it is black with a blinking led light (which only shows when plugged in to either the wall charger or USB). It blinks once (red) and then three times very quickly. I can not wipe the hardware because my computer does not recognize the device. Is there anyway to fix this? I do not want to return it if I can easily fix it.

There is nothing on the screen and the backlight is white and never turns off. I tried battery pull number of times. This usually occurs after I start listening to internet radio. i am living in india and when i bought bb bold its home screen showed gsm then some day after it showed edge and now its continuously showing 3g...and signal besides 3g is searching something...now as of this my battery is draining very fast
