View 1 RepliesI am not able to configure email using my bold 9700 handset. I have activated the data plan with Airtel provider (India) and the "edge" icon is displayed in lowercase on the main screen and when the same SIM is used in other blackberry handset, it works.
So the issue is with the handset and on boot it shows AT&T. Thereby i guess its unlocked phone, but unfortunately the seller is not taking it back and charged me original price which i got through internet shopping site [URL]
I have a 9780 and I can't configure my e-mail account, I follow the steps in the setup menu, but when I click on the icon "Internet mail account" does not follow the next step, return to the home screen configuration, please I need urgent help with this, I did the configuration of an email account but it was through the blackberry page in my browser but I can not do this again.

Have set up BIS, but whenever I have tried to set up any of my email accounts it just keeps coming up with error - unable to connect to server, then user name and password must be incorrect, check your server. All user names and passwords correct. Have gone through the cold reboot - Registered the Blackberry, removed the Service Books and tried to reinstate the accounts and it keeps coming up with the same error.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhy my phone suddenly stopped receiving emails from both my accounts. I used to live in portugal and i moved to peru, two months ago. I had my phone unlocked from my portuguese operator so i could use it in Peru. When i got here i boght a sim card from a peruvian operator and everything was fine for the 2 fisrt months and now i haven't received emails since the 9th april and i've already reseted the phone and nothing. The thing is when i go to set up an email account, happens two differente things: sometimes i only can choose the option create an email acount by an entreprise server....and i don't have that...so i go to the option creat an email account and nothing happens...it just stays there like i haven't pressed that option....and there are days that i can't even get in the option email accounts....
how is this possible? everything was going fine...there's no reason for this to be happening.. and my operator in peru says they can't do anything because it's a handicap from the cell phone..
When I go into setup n select email accounts nothiong is heppening, and if I do get in and select internet email it goes back to setup. Is there anyway I can add my email address so I can get emails to my blackberry?

What am stuck with now is that unable 'to go back' and email stuck on enterprise (although I am not subscriber.) Have tried all suggestions including return to factory settings, etc.. Have made purchase of another sim card and situation still exactly the same.

It works on my blackberry ID so I`m sure I use both correct user name and password.

When I access the email setup the device freezes and I can't exit that page anymore. The device has to be turned off, then back on. I did not have this problem prior to the update. Everything else appears okay.I am on the German Telekom network.

1- Whenever I go to the E-mail setup, it says "Checking For Updates"
2- Directs me to the Browser in order to download the update
3- Once I do the update, my phone just freezes and does not reboot after a long time. And even if it does reboot, the home page does not load I had to reinstall the OS several times and now I can't even set up any E-mail accounts because it just brings me back to the "Update".I need to be able to receive e-mails on my device.
I connected my Bold9780 to my PC and I was told there was a device upgrade and that it would take some time. I set it off and my computer crashed (power cut). At first all seemed ok, the upgrade seems to have been successfully installed. However I cannot send or receive emails now. I have tried to reconcile and nothing at all happens. If I try to access my email via settings I just get a message saying "Your device has a problem connecting to the internet" and I'm offered RETRY or CANCEL I've retried loads of times without success. The phone and texting work fine but I cannot access any apps either as it just says "server can not be found"

I've tried taking the battery out for 30 seconds, finding service books (it won't let me send), and i've tried checking if it was hidden, but i didn't know how to check that on the 9780. I've tried looking it up and every post says "from the home screen, press menu and then show all" but there is no regular menu option nor is there a show all.

Then now when I m trying to go in the option Email account management, a message appears which says: Unable to open email setup application. Contact your wireless service provider. My phone operator is vodaphone.nl and I have the data plan. I tried to deleted all the service books, tried to register it again, and also tried to wipe the blackberry. The result is the same, this application doesnt come back. Is there any way to reinstall this application?

Also using blackberry desktop software I tried to restore backup from my old phone to the new one but it has not updated my bbm. The previous bbm contacts are there but I cant send a message to anyone. Do I need to add all of them again?
