View 1 Repliesthis bb bold 9900 is my first bb. been using this for the past 2 months and was great. suddenly over these past few days, sometimes i cant get data conection. ping and dns lookup is ok.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have just got the new Bold 9900 and paired/connected it to my bluetooth in the car. i've had multiple blackberry phones and never had an issue. now i find that when i start the car and the device is found, the car (not the phone) starts a call to a number.
the log on the RIM site said it was a known issue and had been escalated internally.
My new 9900 will not keep it's network connection even though the signal is full. Once the connection is re-turned on it lasst about a minute before it goes 'off". I cant use the phone!!! the network assures me that the problem is not on their side...phone is brand new!
View 2 Replies View Relatedthere is a 3G internet connection on my SIM card. I used to access the internet on another apparatus. After starting to use the blackberry, I cannot access internet on my blackberry. I have configured the correct access point of my ISP, but still I get a reply of "Browsing over the mobile internet is not included as part of your current service plan. To browse the web, you must use Wi-Fi or contact your service provider to change your service plan".When I remove the SIM card fro the black berry and use it in another device, I can access internet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my new Bold 9900 has arrived with complications, it still doesn't connect to Outlook Contacts or Calendar and the wi-fi whilst displayed at the top of the screen does not allow emails in or out?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI had recently downloaded and installed the new os 7.1.0.267 os from SK Telecom form the software download page of on blackberry site to my bold 9900. Upon doing that i was able to access the new mobile hot spot feature and even set it up for use after calling my service provider for the APN which is Lime Jamaica. I even tested it by using another phone which detected it. However sometime afterwards about 30 minutes to an hour later while listening to music my headset got pull out by mistake and upon putting it back in realized music wouldn't start playing back after pressing the side button. Unlocked the phone only to see the play icon highlighted in music player but nothing wouldn't register when clicked with trackpad or touch screen. plus got a message on the screen saying that device media player was busy, which continued for a while. Did a battery pull afterwards which fixed the problem. However a few hours later when i decided to show a friend the new feature and test it by connecting his phone, upon accessing the connections menu the mobile hot spot option was missing even in networks and connections. essentially it disappeared form the phone the only apps on the phone besides the default ones was wikitude and whatsapps. Even after a factory reset it didn't return. Did a clean wipe of the os and installed the os again upon which the hot spot option returned only to disappear again after about a few minutes at which time no extra apps was insatlled just the default ones. Have no idea whats causing this and whats worse the 7.1.0.267 download has been removed from the Sk Telecom link.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI connected my blackberry to my home wifi network but now every time I return home the phone doesn't connect automatically. I have to pull the battery and restart the phone then it will connect automatically. I don't have any mobile service at my house and am dependent on using UMA over wifi to receive calls so I'd like to get this sorted.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know definitively what, if any, deployment of Wi-Fi/UMA the 9900 is going to get (in a future software update)? I have heard that it isn't getting it at all, it is getting UMA or it is getting GAN-Lite. I rely on this connectivity so much that it will make the difference between me buying this new Bold or not.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIt kept saying: the protocol specified isn't supported by the handheld . Please try a different URL. But all I want to do is just get access to WIFI!!! Who can help me with this problem, Usually a page will jump out which allow me to type my ID and password.. but no page jumped out in this 9900. From the home page, what i can see is it has accessed to WIFI, but i cant open any website.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy BB Bold just started crashing every time I try to access data over Wi-Fi or sometimes even when it is just on. By crash i mean: black screen, red LED, full reboot. It just started when I was on a public network at a University. It wouldn't usually be a big deal but my house is the only place where i dont get 4G (of course). I have not restored it just because I really don't want to have to go through the hastle of reinstalling apps and such.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just went overseas for a few days and I was able to connect to the WIFI network with my Data Services option as 'Off' because I have a 3G plan and I didn't want to get charged for 3G overseas as it's more expensive. However after I connected to the WIFI I couldn't do any browsing. It says 'A communication failure has occurred. The server may be busy, please try again later. If the problem persists contact your service provider'
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have bought Blackberry bold 9900. I can use GPRS to sync the mail, calendar, browse internet and so on, but this is a little bit expensive and I have wifi at home so I want to use it instead of GPRSHow can I disable GPRS (so that I'm sure that the phone doesn't sync or use internet through it) and enable wifi so that the phone only can use this to avoid huge bill for cell phone? I understand, that I can't use BBM and some few other apps with wifi, but let say I want to check only my gmail account, browse internet at home on WIFI, send/receive sms and answer calls. If I disable "data services" in "mobile network" wifi stays connected, but I can't browse.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust switched from a bold 9700 to bold 9900. Our mobile signal is extremely limited since we're out in the country so wifi is essential here.On my 9700, wifi worked perfectly with all applications but that doesn't appear to be the case with the bold 9900. Several apps are extremely slow or don't work at all. I think the reason for this is the 9900 isn't using wifi for some apps. I believe some apps are using wifi such as the browser and facebook but app world, google maps, scoremobile, whatsapp and tunein radio to name a few don't appear to be using wifi at all.

the maximum speed on WI-Fi, that BB Bold 9900 can reach? Does it support 4G networks?

BlackBerry 9900 BOLD (7.1.0.794) (CHINA UNICOM)
I have many problems by every next day I have new BB Bold9900. While I can browse Internet through wifi (which is interesting cause it loves to freeze), I cannot use BB app world, cause it says my device is not connected to the wireless network. The same thing with FB application. I simply cannot connect to Internet although I already am connected, and my phone even shows full signal, network name, etc. Is there any solution which will make it possible to comfortably use BB????

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am sure I used to set wifi as preferred in my 9780 in order to reduce my phone bills` costs. I don`t remember how I`ve done it?I cant find `advanced options` in my menu but I recall I may have done it via that option.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my 9900 in August and haven't had this problem before. I can connect to my WiFi -- it shows as connected, strong connection etc. But when I try to go to any site on my browser I get "Unable to find the requested server. This is on my home wifi. But my laptop and WiFi are still fine so it's only on my phone. However, I discovered I am able to connect to other wifis - just not the one at home. The problem originated right when I was downloading some software upgrades. I wasn't really paying much attention to what I was doing and I'm not even sure how I got into downloading these upgrades because I'd never done that before. Anyway, one of the downloads seemed to have got stuck mid-way through downloading.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen i login in to either Slacker or XM radio streams using my wi/fi connection it only works for about 20 -30 minutes. Then it stops playing and i have to do a battery pull. to get it to start again. Is there a setting that limits the amount of data that can be streamed using wifi? It is really annoying, considering how long a reboot takes.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know the Bold doesnt have wireless N, but being that I never had anything WIFI before. Is wireless N only for a bigger range to be connected on?It doesnt have anything to do with speed or anything does it? I tried to look for answers on Google, but I didnt really find what I was looking for, seems like wireless N is only to extend your wifi connection.

I've tried:
- reading every thread about it
- several 5 min+ battery pulls
- reinstalling the OS

View 2 Replies View RelatedOur company was able to receive the new Bold 9900 but it seems there is an issue with activating wifi on the device. Have tried turning on Wifi, but it attempts scanning for networks then eventually fails and turns wifi off. It doesn't even list any active access points. Doing a battery pull and reset the device to factory defaults does not seem to do the trick. I am thinking it could be a defective device or perhaps a software issue.
BB OS: v7.1.0.1091

My mobile carrier is vodafone and even when I am connected to wifi, my credit is being used up. How do I disable the internet function but still use wifi?
