I know the Bold doesnt have wireless N, but being that I never had anything WIFI before. Is wireless N only for a bigger range to be connected on?It doesnt have anything to do with speed or anything does it? I tried to look for answers on Google, but I didnt really find what I was looking for, seems like wireless N is only to extend your wifi connection.

On July 25 th my internet connection stopped working. My network provider says they did a network upgrade and all foreign phones are now unable to connect to the internet. They say their is nothing that they can do for me. Just before my ph was disconnected I tried to download the Blackberry App World Version 3.1.4.25 Could this have caused the problem?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a wireless bluetooth enabled speaker. I have paired it with my Blackberry Bold 9930. I play music (Pandora) on the blackberry and it plays thru the speaker. When the music changes songs it stops playing on the wireless speaker and starts playing thru the BB speaker. I have to disconnect and reconnect the bluetooth on the BB to make the music play thru the wireless speaker again. The same thing happens when I get a phone call and music is playing thru the wireless speaker..The speaker instructions say to use A2DP for audio streaming between devices. how to keep the music streaming to speaker?

Has anyone else noticed the weak battery life compared to the Tour (for those that had one)?Lastly, the Bolds didn't come with a media card? I was able to record videos on my Tour but when I tried recording a video yesterday, a screen came up with "To record a video, insert a Media Card." If they didn't, how much would it cost to get one?
I got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
Now I would have thought my 9650 would be just as fast on the internet as my laptop is via wi-fi. WRONG! why is that? I have 3G also and its not very fast. Is it me? or just BB's in general?

However, it would be nice to be able to use wifi at hotels, hotspots, etc. Is it possible to just flip my sim card so I couldn't receive any calls or anything but the phone be able to use wifi and not cost me any money?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a data plan and i'm able to browse to just about any website and use it. but watching a video on Internet doesn't work.i can go to Internet, see the video thumbnails, but when i wanna play one i always get this message "wireless network connection has been disconnected. please try again."
note that watching Internet videos works fine when i am on my home wifi router. the problem is when i am out using the 3g.btw my apn settings are correct: telus.bb.com.the odd thing is that it worked a couple weeks ago. so what's the deal?

I cann't get any computer (Windows 7 or XP Pro) to recognize the device as "mass storage device" so I can access the memory card. There is plenty of items on the card, and I can access them fro mthe decive, but the computer won't "find" it. This is with DM 5.0 and 4.7, on windows XP Pro and Windows 7.

View 13 Replies View RelatedWhen i login in to either Slacker or XM radio streams using my wi/fi connection it only works for about 20 -30 minutes. Then it stops playing and i have to do a battery pull. to get it to start again. Is there a setting that limits the amount of data that can be streamed using wifi? It is really annoying, considering how long a reboot takes.

- delete apps
and no solution so far. Is there any way to fix this without sending it back to warranty?? (I bought it online at a HK shop) I think I'm about to cry now
I have BB9780 (v6.0.0.285) when Im connected to wifi whether at home any where else it keeps disconnecting every minute or two even though its not in standby mode. I cannot download larger files or watch video stream most of the time because wifi connection dropping from my device, and if I download through carrier it will cost me a lot. I tried to reset network but no use.

On my old BB I hit the back arrow key and it saved to draft, (i would often have 4-5 texts in draft before I sent all out) If im not mistaken you cant do this on the new 9650?? Do I need to get an application to assist with this? ANy suggestions? Sorry if this is a rookie question but...Im a rookie when it comes to these phones.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I upgraded my 9630 to my new bold 9650 I had a 16gb micro sd card in the 9630. I copied all of the files from my card to my computer, put the 16gb card in my 9650 and formatted the card. I then copied all of the files from my computer back to the sd card and put the card back in the 9650. All seems to be ok, I have my pictures etc. When I go to connect my BB 9650 to my computer I get a message on the BB that says: "Content rights do not match this device. Please insert the media card back to the right device." this only happens if I have the memory option set to "Auto enable mass storage mode storage set to NO" Any ideas?

Is anyone else having trouble using the "Vibrate in Holster" setting? My 8330 would automatically switch to vibrate when I put it in my holster that has the magnetic closure. My 9650 fits in the same holster but doesn't seem to switch to vibrate even though I have that setting chosen under my sounds profiles.
