I connected my blackberry to my home wifi network but now every time I return home the phone doesn't connect automatically. I have to pull the battery and restart the phone then it will connect automatically. I don't have any mobile service at my house and am dependent on using UMA over wifi to receive calls so I'd like to get this sorted.
I just went overseas for a few days and I was able to connect to the WIFI network with my Data Services option as 'Off' because I have a 3G plan and I didn't want to get charged for 3G overseas as it's more expensive. However after I connected to the WIFI I couldn't do any browsing. It says 'A communication failure has occurred. The server may be busy, please try again later. If the problem persists contact your service provider'
I just got a new bold 9900, I bought it on my vacation abroad.. Now am back home, I tried using by new phone and it just won't connect to the Bis service, at 1st I thought it was a network issue, so I contacted my service provided.. Until they discovered I can't get a data coverage.. I tried many way to get it to work and I can.. There no way I can return it back to the point of sales coz I got it when I travelled out..
I bought the new bb bold 9900 the other day upgrading from my bold 9700 well apparently the woman didn't understand that I could transfer all my stuff and set up myself. so she set up a new ID for me and now I can't sign into my old account through my phone and all the apps I had DL I can't access and apparently have to pay for again?how do I get rid of this new ID and set my old ID on my new phone and have all my apps again?
I have a problem with my 9900 that connect to better connection (3G or 4G) . It always shows EDGE ,but i have changed it to 3G/4G and 2G . Since i upgraded to OS 7.1.0.342 ,it can't be connected to 3G or 4G.Do I need downgrade my OS or change to another OS?
I'm currently abroad and all my phones services have been working completely fine on wifi however yesterday i left the data services on but switched off the whilst roaming option. I also tried to insert a new sim where it brought up the blackberry ID login, i couldn't log in as this phone no longer recognises my password even though its correct (whole diff issue,i know a security wipe etc is needed in order to solve this) so i switched the phone off and put in my old sim.even with the roaming switched off my whatsapp and internet work, i even switched it back on to see if it would make a difference but no matter what i do it seems as if i cant connect to BIS and the blackberry logo that appears on the top right of the screen wont come back. I've also tried connecting to the local phone networks here and the bb symbol still hasnt shown.
My Bold 9900 shows Blackerry Internet Service BIS as Not Connected. See pictureAny idea what can be done to fix it?Location is Saudi Arabia, carrier is STC.
I have a factory unlocked Vodafone 9900 from the UK (Carphonewarehouse). I've moved to Canada and inserted a Koodo, Bell, and Rogers SIM and the phone could not pull in a 3G signal at all.
It can pull in a Rogers/Fido 2G signal easily, but for some reason 3G won't work.
When I do a manual search for a network, it detects a Rogers 2G network, and for some odd reason a WIND and Mobilicity network.
Now I got this phone in the UK, and according to Vodafone's website it uses the following bands: HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100 why in Canada I can't pull in a 3G signal using 1900/850?
I had recently downloaded and installed the new os 7.1.0.267 os from SK Telecom form the software download page of on blackberry site to my bold 9900. Upon doing that i was able to access the new mobile hot spot feature and even set it up for use after calling my service provider for the APN which is Lime Jamaica. I even tested it by using another phone which detected it. However sometime afterwards about 30 minutes to an hour later while listening to music my headset got pull out by mistake and upon putting it back in realized music wouldn't start playing back after pressing the side button. Unlocked the phone only to see the play icon highlighted in music player but nothing wouldn't register when clicked with trackpad or touch screen. plus got a message on the screen saying that device media player was busy, which continued for a while. Did a battery pull afterwards which fixed the problem. However a few hours later when i decided to show a friend the new feature and test it by connecting his phone, upon accessing the connections menu the mobile hot spot option was missing even in networks and connections. essentially it disappeared form the phone the only apps on the phone besides the default ones was wikitude and whatsapps. Even after a factory reset it didn't return. Did a clean wipe of the os and installed the os again upon which the hot spot option returned only to disappear again after about a few minutes at which time no extra apps was insatlled just the default ones. Have no idea whats causing this and whats worse the 7.1.0.267 download has been removed from the Sk Telecom link.
I want to get the 9900 Bold with my contract by Vodafone. Just got to know, that I have to order an "emailconnect-option" (connecting by APN blackberry.net) to be able to surf in the internet with my BB.
But with "emailconnect" I get just 30MB per month! May be enough to push the emails, but not to surf or use some apps.
Is there any possibility, to use my "mobileconnect-option" (connecting by APN web.vodafone.de) instead of the emailconnect-option?
Does anyone know definitively what, if any, deployment of Wi-Fi/UMA the 9900 is going to get (in a future software update)? I have heard that it isn't getting it at all, it is getting UMA or it is getting GAN-Lite. I rely on this connectivity so much that it will make the difference between me buying this new Bold or not.
It kept saying: the protocol specified isn't supported by the handheld . Please try a different URL. But all I want to do is just get access to WIFI!!! Who can help me with this problem, Usually a page will jump out which allow me to type my ID and password.. but no page jumped out in this 9900. From the home page, what i can see is it has accessed to WIFI, but i cant open any website.
My BB Bold just started crashing every time I try to access data over Wi-Fi or sometimes even when it is just on. By crash i mean: black screen, red LED, full reboot. It just started when I was on a public network at a University. It wouldn't usually be a big deal but my house is the only place where i dont get 4G (of course). I have not restored it just because I really don't want to have to go through the hastle of reinstalling apps and such.
i am having trouble connecting to my desktop manager and also when i try to up date my 9900 to a new os 7.1, it will not backup . i have tried battery pulls even uninstalling the desktop manager and reinstallng it.
I have a bold 9900 and I can connect to everything but email. I have tried to delete and readd it, it was there before but then I had to take my phone in to get fixed because it kept rebooting everytime I put it on a hard surface. It keeps coming back with 'no message services configured. You will be redirected to the setup wizard to setup your email' but it is already set up it just wont connect/link.
I have bought Blackberry bold 9900. I can use GPRS to sync the mail, calendar, browse internet and so on, but this is a little bit expensive and I have wifi at home so I want to use it instead of GPRSHow can I disable GPRS (so that I'm sure that the phone doesn't sync or use internet through it) and enable wifi so that the phone only can use this to avoid huge bill for cell phone? I understand, that I can't use BBM and some few other apps with wifi, but let say I want to check only my gmail account, browse internet at home on WIFI, send/receive sms and answer calls. If I disable "data services" in "mobile network" wifi stays connected, but I can't browse.
Just switched from a bold 9700 to bold 9900. Our mobile signal is extremely limited since we're out in the country so wifi is essential here.On my 9700, wifi worked perfectly with all applications but that doesn't appear to be the case with the bold 9900. Several apps are extremely slow or don't work at all. I think the reason for this is the 9900 isn't using wifi for some apps. I believe some apps are using wifi such as the browser and facebook but app world, google maps, scoremobile, whatsapp and tunein radio to name a few don't appear to be using wifi at all.
I just updated and configured my brand new Bold 9900 OS 7.0 Bundle 2406 for my Bluetooth devices and two of them that previously worked have issues. They pair perfectly but both devices are unable to connect a ringing call, disconnect a call in progress or initiate a phone call. If I answer or place a call from the phone, the Bluetooth device engages but the voice is only one direction. I have tried turning Encryption on & off under the device properties and no difference. I have verified the one Motorola device is listed as Compatible with my bold so what's up here?
I'm setting up a new 9900. I have a cryptic 63 character wifi passphrase that I would like to paste into the field, but there seems to be no way to do that. Is there a work around other than by manually typing it in?
I have many problems by every next day I have new BB Bold9900. While I can browse Internet through wifi (which is interesting cause it loves to freeze), I cannot use BB app world, cause it says my device is not connected to the wireless network. The same thing with FB application. I simply cannot connect to Internet although I already am connected, and my phone even shows full signal, network name, etc. Is there any solution which will make it possible to comfortably use BB????
I just got a bold 9900 a couple weeks ago and I like it. I use facebook a lot and it worked on the mobile network not on wifi. Yesterday I synced my bold for updates and now facebook doesn't on my mobile network and only on wifi. How I can change it back so I can use my mobile network rather than wifi.
I got my 9900 in August and haven't had this problem before. I can connect to my WiFi -- it shows as connected, strong connection etc. But when I try to go to any site on my browser I get "Unable to find the requested server. This is on my home wifi. But my laptop and WiFi are still fine so it's only on my phone. However, I discovered I am able to connect to other wifis - just not the one at home. The problem originated right when I was downloading some software upgrades. I wasn't really paying much attention to what I was doing and I'm not even sure how I got into downloading these upgrades because I'd never done that before. Anyway, one of the downloads seemed to have got stuck mid-way through downloading.
Our company was able to receive the new Bold 9900 but it seems there is an issue with activating wifi on the device. Have tried turning on Wifi, but it attempts scanning for networks then eventually fails and turns wifi off. It doesn't even list any active access points. Doing a battery pull and reset the device to factory defaults does not seem to do the trick. I am thinking it could be a defective device or perhaps a software issue. BB OS: v7.1.0.1091
I have the blackberry 9900 and want to turn off the network internet services without turning off the wifi function. My mobile carrier is vodafone and even when I am connected to wifi, my credit is being used up. How do I disable the internet function but still use wifi? When I try disabling data services, wifi doesnt connect at all?
ive went to the wifi setting properties. then, the problem comes after i selected "scan for network" and selected my wifi network name. then, it requested me to insert a PIN into my router. how do i do that?
I wanted to download the update via the wireless network. I have the upgrade icon on the homescreen of my 9900 (virgin contract). However, my wireless will not connect I am getting either 'network lost' or just failed to connect. I have ran diagnostics and all is fine but when I go to device < device and status info and run network test from there get this:Radio activation: failSignal level: -77 dbmRadio access: UMTSNetwork: T-Mobile UKIP Address: 0.0.0.0All email accounts passed and when viewing the certificates of available network it says amazon mp3, untrusted cert chain, stale chain status, private key on device.I have resent sevice books and each time I run diagnostics or test I get the Blackberry 'your device has been registered with the wireless network' notification.
I have a Bold 9900 on Orange UK running os7.1 official release. The problem I am having is that when I am connected to a wifi network for wifi calling when I try to browse the internet it will not always allow me and says that its "unable to connect to server. Please try again later" or something similar.I have tried connecting to a different router but still have the same issue.
