When I First started using my new Black Berry Bold 9700 it wouldn't give me the option to set up a new email for it in the wizard, it only gives me the option to use an exsisting enterprise email address (which I don't).

I live in bolivia and i purchased this phone, asked in the store if it is compatible with my network etc and we tested with my sim. It worked fine for calls and got a 3g signal.When i returned home I tried configuring the internet access andn could not get this to work. So today i took it to my provider and asked a tech to configure and he said that i must first buy a "plan blackberry" for it to work - ok i said ad went to change my plan to plan blackberry - but after i had this the tried to set it up and then tell me that the phone is locked to only use at & t blackberry service.
So my questions are ..
1. - is this true?
2. can i unlock this somehow?
seems unfair that i have paid full price for a phone that is tied to a network that doesn't exist in my country - it was imported legally - if i cannot change it.
Hoping someone might be able to help me. I recently received a hand-me-down Bold 9000 from a colleague and I've just connected it with Vodafone.However that's when I discovered one huge problem - it doesn't have an option to set up anything but Enterprise email, and I just have regular pop and internet mail accounts. The wizard only comes up with the "BlackBerry Enterprise Server" option.I've tried registering with the Host Routing Table but that doesn't help matters.I've also installed the Desktop software and tried updating its software to no effect. Anyone have another idea of what I can do to get email on my email-centric smartphone? It's killing me!

When i first went through the setup wizard i had the two options one for the enterprise and the other for personal use. I did not fill in my details so i left it at that moment to check out the other features on the phone. But the second time i came round to it, it only gave me the enterprise option which i dont want. Just wondering how i can get that option back. The phone works and sms works.Anyways my issue is this, I am using it for personal use, but cannot send/receive pin messages, my bbm doesn't send/receive invites, and it won't let me setup a personal email.When I click on setup/email the only option available is to add an enterprise email and asks for the enterprise password.Any ideas as to why this is happening or ways around this so I can use my bbm and setup my personal emails to automatically send to my phone like I had before? Mine still works perfect. Any ideas on what needs to be done to get her email set back up and bbm working again ?

I called Bell's tech support, and they had me download the new OS (which I had) and if that didn't work, use the security wipe.So, I did that.Now that my bold 9700 has been reset to the factory settings, I am trying to add my hotmail account back onto it so I can add my bbm contacts. However, when I try to go to the "email set up" my ONLY option is to add a work email account with the BES. Not at all what I want.As a side note, I also noticed that the "wireless update" option is now missing from the options menu. Also, my bb browser goes to the Bell mobile portal instead of the old homepage. Not a major issue, but just noticed the differences.

I have recently done a device switch to my new BB and two email accounts were part of the switch transfer.
One works fine, however my gmail acount has not been receiving messages. When I go into setup email I constantly get 'Cannot connect to server' and then it exits back to the setup menu. This means I cannot edit any email profile I have. Removing the battery and restarting has no effect.
Any way to delete the offending email account and re-add or getting it working.

Anyone else missing the 'Edit Signature' option under Email Settings on their 9650? I just noticed this afternoon it's not there. I'm running 5.0.0.810 on BES.Not sure how long it has been missing; if it has been gone since June since I switched from my 8330 to this 9650 or if it was when I upgraded from .732 to .810.
Just wanted to check, I'll probably try downgrading back to .732 to see if it brings it back.I've actually only got three options under Email Settings; Enable HTML, Download images and Confirm external image download.
Since large update last week the option icon has disappeared from the desktop screen.When I try to access options via the bb menu it does not respond and takes me back to the home screen.

It seems there are always problems cropping up whenever I arrive at the other country (SIM Swap). most problems are easily solved with resending Service Books and/or Battery Pull.However my latest problem can't be solved regardless whatever I did.There is no sound whenever a new email gets push to my Phone, also, i only have a "Save Draft" option BUT NOT "Send" option. I can't send mail now.Things I have done.1. Battery Pull2. Re-registering my email (after deleting Service Books and the removing the email from device)3. Called my local provider who claims to resolve the issue but to no avail.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a hotmail account, with MS Outlook, through Century Link ISP. After I set up the account on my new iPhone 4s (using the Hotmail option for adding an account), I discovered that deleting emails on the phone deleted the emails from the server as well. Doing some checking on-line, I read that you could select the Advanced option, and then specify "never" delete emails on the server. However, my hotmail account on the iPhone doesn't have an Advanced option. I talked to Apple support, deleted the account and re-added it using the Other option (vs. Hotmail). I was then able to see the Advanced option. However, I no longer have the option to Sync calendars, contacts or reminders.

It requests the username and pasword and I provided these,It says confirming the username and the pasword, after this step, phone says;"Configuring Mailbox" but it goes on and on forever.
It has been an hour and it still is configuring the mailbox.I never had this on this phone before, it is the same email account I was using before the reformat.E-Mail is a Hotmail Account.
What should be done now?Shall I wait forever for its configuring the mailbox?
