Randomly during the day I have noticed that my Bold 9700 turns itself off. It always has plenty of charge and the Auto Shutdown function isn't set.Getting quite annoying as I often receive work emails etc.Phone was received in September 2010?
My Blackberry bold 9700 keeps on turning itself off. It happened four months ago and was rectified somehow. Now I cannot use it, which is frustrating as its a work phone.
I have turned off the Led when I receive an email. But I still get them. Is there something I am missing? I went into messages and message alerts and turned off the led but it still turns on when i receive one. I'm running os .545
This has just started happening the last two weeks or so. When I turn the screen off, or when the phone turns the screen off after one minute, it shortly turns back on again. The only thing that will fix this for about two days or so, is a battery pull. Anyone have this issue? I am using Build 862
My AT&T Bold 9700 restarts itself every time I try to turn on the WiFi radio to connect to a wireless network. I beleive i'm running the latest OS that AT&T has: v5.0.0.602.
I've recently updated my 9700 OS to 6 and am having tons of problems with it now. My phone is now very slow, sometimes it freezes up and my phone calls won't come in. Every once in awhile my screen won't turn on even though I have not turned off my phone and the only way to start it back up is to pull the battery. I also get a message saying my application memory is low and I've never had this problem before nor have I downloaded any new 3rd party apps.
is there any way to turn the sound off when you take a picture??, please dont all start calling me a pervert (as i've seen on other forums) im hoping you can be a bit more helpful here, sometimes you want a photo but it is not always apt to have a camara sound go off, this is my first blackberry (bold 9700) but im yet to own a phone that you could'nt turn it off on.
Anyone know if it is possible to have the screen fade off during bedside mode? I like the auto profile and LED off feature but I would like the screen to go off when I'm charging on the cradle at night. I'm a little paranoid of having the screen on all night every night when it is on bedside mode.
i just bought a new 9700. its an unlocked orange 9700 operating V5 OS i am having a problem that whenever my battery gets below 50% the device shows me a message "battery drained, turning off handheld" and the phone shut down.and when i try to turn it on,it only shows the red blip at the LED and then it stops and nothing happened the phone didnt revived.so i charged the phone and it works.but still whenever the battery starts to fall below 50% power, the message show up and the device died. what happen to the phone?i am a fresh blackberry user.somebody please give me some advice. i have tried the power saving advice from http://supportforums.blackberry.com /t5/BlackBerry- Community-Post/Power-Saving-Tips-for-your-BlackBe but the problem still persist.
Using my phone as per usual and had about half battery left, suddenly an error screen popped up saying drained battery and shutting off handheld. After it shut off and I plugged my blackerry in to charge up, I couldn't get the phone to turn back on. I popped the battery in and out of the back hoping for a reboot and nothing. I left it plugged in over night. When I tried to turn it back on this morning it still wouldn't turn on. I popped the battery in and out of the back yet again and finally it booted back up, but without a charge in the phone whatsoever even though it had been plugged in over night.
I would like to know how to minimize or suspend the browser and or turn off the screen and touch screen while a web page is open.I have yet to figure out how to turn off the screen without closing the browser down.I did google and search hofo and another big forum.
I got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'. In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
I have a BB Bold 2 (9700). The Media Card slot wont lock down the card and keeps springing it out. If i keep the card pressed down it works but wont lock down.
I have Outlook 2007 on my desktop computer and use BT as a service provider and for my email, my Blackberry supplier is Vodafone and I use BIS.I have noticed that if my Blackberry receives an email first I don't get the same email delivered to my desktop. If my desktop gets an email first then the same email will be delivered to my Blackberry. I was happily deleting emails from my Blackberry thinking I would have them all on my desktop but I now find I have to check what emails I have on each before I delete anything. Is this an issue that anyone has come acrosss before and how do I resolve it apart from synching the Blackberry and desktop?I'm often away from the desktop which is why I bought the Blackberry in the first place.
I've owned my 9700 for nearly 2 months now and I'm still not used to the keyboard. I prefer my 8310's spaced out keys. has anybody replaced the 9700 keyboard with the Atlas keyboard?
I have a problem with my Blackberry and would be grateful if anyone knows what the problem is.I have only my Blackberry 9700 bold for 1 month or so.I am unable to lock my keypad by using the lock key on top of the phone. This has happened before but after charging my phone it started to work again. I have turned my phone on and off, tried charging it and the button still doesn't work. Although the keypad will lock when I put it into the leather case.Do you think it is a problem with my blackberry and I should return it? Or is this a problem people have had before and if so, how do I fix it?
My Bold is stuck on the boot screen (at about 75%). I've tried many battery pulls with and without the SIM and it keeps doing the same thing. I've searched what I think are all the threads on here relating to this, but I'm still stuck. I'm able to connect to the device if I run Loader.exe like a user suggested, but I don't know how/where to get software to load onto the device. All the places I've searched for an OS says I need to go into the device to find information about it. Well, I can't get into the device to do that. So, how do I know what OS to download and install? I really want to exhaust all possibilities before I have to completely wipe the device because I don't have a current backup. But, even if I wipe the device, I'm going to need to download an OS which I can't do now.
First two locked up constantly and rebooted. All I did was:
Set up Yahoo Mail Download Google Maps, Point, Movies Download One Theme - 18 Icon BlackBerry 9700 Sync with Yahoo Contacts Sync with Lotus Notes Calendar Only. Back Up WiFi connection to home router Bluetooth headset
I have recently purchased this 9700 (3 weeks ago) and am generally very pleased with the device. BUT If I leave the BB 9700 connected overnight to the computers USB Port for charging, and, obviously, after a few hours the computer will go to sleep, thus turning off the power to the USB port In the morning I find that the BB is: Off and will not turn on, unless it is power reset. In other words I have to open up the back and pull the battery for a second then after It is put back in the red light will display nevertheless it will turn on and be fine once it boots back up. There are no other indications or problems. I notice that other people have similar complaints with their BB's.
The other day I walked into a Walmart that had a display of cell phones. There was the 9700 there. I have the 9000. I was really looking forward to upgrading to the 9700, but now I don't know. It's LIKE REALLY small. I love the size of my 9000, and I'm afraid I'm going to have times typing on the 9700 keyboard now.
i have the blackberry bold 9780, it can have full battery after bein on charge all night but will just turn it self off, then when i return back on because it takes afes to load back up the battery is low or dead?
My blackberry keeps shutting itself and turning itself back on. I will have a fully charged battery so there's no reason for it to do so...my phone is dead an hour after I unplug it from restarting so much!! It doesn't restart if it is plugged in. Is this for sure a battery problem?
I have no idea what's going on with my camera, when I open it, it keeps showing me a black screen and keep loading.
but my problem isn't like the others, cos it didn't show me message like, "Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening camera again".
I found it out! You have to dismantle the phone, though. Walkthrough:
1) Remove the bottom plate with the branding (use guitar pick, small flat screwdriver, etc) 2) Remove and save warranty sticker in case the phone actually breaks. 3) Remove the two small screws on either side of the phone. 4) Using a guitar pick, small screwdriver, or case-opener tool, start on the sides of the phones slightly below the convenience keys and move down towards the bottom. On the bottom, there are three small clips that WILL NOT BREAK NO MATTER WHAT. Disconnect them. Then remove the keypad top first. 5) Slowly slide the pick/driver/tool from the bottom edges of the phone up until the volume rocker. One tab on each side should pop, but they are difficult. Take your time. 6) Grip the sides of the bezel and slide upwards. The top cover should come off along with the back chrome bezel (the one above the camera). 7) The phone will now appear very basic with only the trackpad and screen recognizable. On the white lower portion, several small, rectangular LEDs can be seen. 8) Use a preferred color of sharpie to color a large clear piece of packing or scotch tape, and cut it into 2mmx2mm squares. 9) Place one color square over each LED. Reassembly 10) Insert the keypad into the bezel bottom first, making sure that the screw tabs for the keypad are underneath the screw tabs in the bezel. 11) Holding this configuration, slide the bezel on top first. 12) Make sure the hole for the trackpad and the trackpad itself line up, this will assure you that the keypad is in right. Also look at the "frets" in the keypad. 13) Push on the bottom of the bezel until you hear at most three clicks (the three tabs locking back into place) 14) Run your fingers along the side with pressure to make sure that you snap in the single tab on both sides of the phone. 15) Insert and screw in the two small screws you took out before. 16 OPTIONAL) Put back the warranty sticker on the ORIGINAL side that it was on before. 17) Snap the carrier plate back into place. 18) You're done PICS TO FOLLOW
Is it possible to stream my recorded video from the BB 9700 to a PC without having to transfer it first from the SD Card to the PC?I can stream audio through blue-tooth fine but cannot stream video either through blue-tooth or Wi-Fi.
Has anyone else noticed that the Bold 9700 Keyboard has been revised in the past few months. I got mine about 3 months ago, and with the ones that i received in the last few weeks they feature a new keyboard. They revised version has a rolled keyboard around the edge.

I have a Bold 9700 recently bought about 4 days ago... At first all the communication channels works fine i.e. Mobile Network, Wifi and Bluetooth. Suddenly this morning the wifi stop working. I'm unable to switch the wifi on even clicking on it many times. Tried to turn off the device and remove the battery for about a minute and still the problem is not solved.
