BB Bold 9700 :: Browser Keeps Opening Up Automatically?
Aug 16, 2010For some reason my browser keeps opening up without me actually opening it. Any ideas on what may be causing this?

Jan 6, 2011when i lock my keypad on my bb and then get a text message, email or BBM. I unlock my phone after taking it out of the pouch and it automatically opens my messages
How can i stop this becuase i dont want this to happen as it is quite annoying.

May 2, 2012i have a blackberry bold 9700 completely up-to-date, and i have troubles with the native internet browser, and all affiliated apps like Internet. i click on the icon, and nothing happens, nor will Internet launch, nor can i follow any links in emails and such. it starts working when i battery pull, but after one use, it refuses to work again until i pull the battery again.

Jun 25, 2011Just got my wife a BB Bold 9780. Current software version is as delivered from the Bell retailer (ver. 6.0, bundle 863 I believe).
Anyway, when you open the browser, it allows you to visit a website. However, as soon as you click a link, it begins to open the website, but then about 1/2 way through loading the page, the browser jumps back to the 'bookmarks' home screen. When you press the back button, it just exits the browser. Tried with multiple websites, and the behavior is always the same.
I've tried the usual fixes - battery pull, clearing the browser cache and history, etc., but the problem won't go away.

Jan 2, 2010Earlier today, my BB started doing something weird. When I get a new email, I highlight it and press the trackball to open it, but it opens the previously received email instead. If I hit the back button (taking me back to the email list) and then hit the new email again, it still takes me to the previous email. The only way to open the new email is to scroll up to the date and then back to the email, which will then open the correct one.
Also, if the new email is highlighted and I delete it, it deletes the previous email instead.
I've tried a battery pull and it doesn't help. I'm on a TMO 9700 running OS .330.
BB Bold 9700 :: Device Manager - Opening Screen Is Asking For A Passwod
Jul 12, 2010On connecting the 9700 to the device manager on my laptop, the opening screen is asking me for a password before I can access the manager its self !
I have entered the password that unlocks my keypad to make a call, but its telling me its incorrect ? Other than the keypad access code which is 6 digits I have not entered any other code " infact its a new phone and Im still trying to get my head around it,
Ive called the service provider and they cant help and direct me to the Blackberry website ! Ive looked throughout the site and as yet havent come up with any thing.
BB Bold 9700 :: Missed Calls And Voice Mail Alerts Not Opening?
Jun 24, 2010I am new to Blackberry and I have some questions about my 9700. I have tried looking to see if this has been posted but I didn’t see anything. I recently installed the .602 OS and did the battery pull and all that hoping it would fix the problem but it hasn’t. The problem is when I miss a phone call and receive a voice mail. I do have the visual voice mail set up and to my knowledge that works fine. The visual voice mail alert popup shows up first and when I go to play the VM, it starts playing and then the missed call alert popup shows up on top of VM. I can either open the missed call to view it or dismiss it. If I open it, I can’t do anything to the VW since it is still going or not going anymore in background and if I dismiss the missed call, I have to go back a view the missed call in the call log to get the icon to go away. Also, once everything is done, my SMS & MMS folder opens up for no reason that I am aware of. Is this normal for everyone’s phone? If not, do I have a setting wrong that I am not aware of? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

May 13, 2010Apparently my device is set to automatically send out read mail receipts. Can I change that option to never send them out? On the old thread it sounded like I have no choice, but that was re: a different type of BB. If anyone knows how to even get into my options to look I'd appreciate it. I've read how other people are getting there - going from the main menu to email settings/options/advanced settings, etc, but I can't find all the "options" I need.

May 1, 2010Recently when I get an email, the sound goes off and the red led flashes like it's supposed to be. If I don't check it right away and check it like 30 minutes later, I go to the messages folder as usual and the email is in the list there, but the envelope icon shows that it's already opened. I didn't open it yet, and nobody else did either.

May 30, 2010my blackberry has worked fine in the couple of months i have had it, however a few weeks ago the browser and bbm completely stopped working. i took the battery and sim out and then when i put them back in it worked fine again.a few days ago the same thing happened, i tried taking the sim out again and it didnt work, have done it a few times. i rang o2 and they suggested putting it on to manual network and try connecting again, have also done this a few times and it still hasnt worked. i have the right plan and pay to get unlimited browsing, it usually is fine but stopped working randomly.

Mar 23, 2012My browser stopped working about a week ago - can still email, bbm, facebook, twitter, weather network etc. Just can't look at any pages in browser. It says 'Requesting' along bottom and watch bar slowly move across, then it eventually says:'Unable to connect to the selected Mobile Data Service, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your administrator'I've gone into a Bell store and after taking the battery out and back in(which I told him I'd already tried to no avail), he suggested its because my system is on v.5 and that I should go home plug it in and update it. Went home, plugged it in and 'no updates available'.Have now resorted to support forum solutions as its a business phone and can't let it get sent away even though I pay extra every month for the service plan. Have tried the Service Books recommendation and no change.

Oct 3, 2011i purchased a Blackberry bold 9700 (unlocked) and I'm currently using an H2O sim card. My bb seems to be getting signal from H2O and I can call, sms, etc. However, There seems to be a browser problem (yes, I'm on a data plan). I firstly, I went to the browser configuration option and tried changing my browser to H2O. However, it only shows Medianet and Hotspot. When I try switching it to hotspot and reopen browser config again, it still shows medainet even after I saved it. I also went to Settings>Advanced Options>Host Routing Table which shows *No Entries*?

Apr 2, 2010Using the standard browser on my Bold 9700, when I try and do a Google search, or when I look at most pages, the page doesn't load at all. When I refresh it a few times or change between column and regular view some of the page shows up sometimes, but not all of it. I've had my BlackBerry since about a month ago and the problem just started last night.
I've done the battery pull several times, and I've cleared the cache a lot. Problem still persists. Opera meanwhile can load any page.
I don't know of any other fixes, so, is there maybe a way I can reinstall the BlackBerry browser? I would really prefer to use it instead of Opera.
BB Bold 9700 :: Browser Go To Page Icons
May 4, 2010Starting when I installed 5.0.0.545, and continuing on .593, and .593 pwncakes hybrid I have this minor problem I did not used to have. On my browser's go to page, the icons for the search options are cut off or missing. See the images below. This did not happen with my stock .293, .405, or any versions I used prior to .545
Is this "normal" or is something a little off with my 9700? I don't think I've wiped it since my .545 install, just upgraded.
BB Bold 9700 :: Phone Did Not Come With Internet Browser
Jul 4, 2010I have been using the bold 9700 for a few months now and love it. My brother decided to buy the same phone yesterday, in the new white color. He hasn't been able to download anything, such as app world. We also discovered that there is no internet browser besides web2go. When I tried to change his default browser to simply "internet browser", that was not an option; it was only web2go or hotspot browser. T-mobile is closed today b/c of holiday, so hopefully someone here can help me! Does anyone have any insight?

Jun 2, 2011when I click on the browser icon, the browser won't open and take me to the internet. All my other apps work, Facebook, Twitter, TSN, etc.
When I pull the battery, re-install, and re-boot the icon will work and I will be able to access the internet exactly one time! The second time following a battery removal re-boot when I try to access the internet via pushing the icon, it doesn't work.
