When I am on the home screen and hold down the menu key, I see the browser is running. I close it everytime and even went to applications and closed it there. Is the browser always supposed to run?
I just purchased a Class 2 16gb microSD card and my 9700 is running slow. Is the 16 too big or is it because of the Class 2? The decrease in performance is not worth the extra space compared to the 2GB that came with the phone.
You know how when you open an application, and just press the hangup / power key, it exits the application from the screen but it still keeps running in the background memory. I have noticed that such applications in the memory can drain the battery real quick. I was wondering if anyway on the phone you can check which applications are currently running in the background memory? If i can find that out, I can just exit all the apps and save my battery life. Let me know if anyone knows a way to do so.
It's happened to me a couple times now. I just got this 9700 and it doesn't even warn me the battery is low, it actually has a bar or two in the battery icon and it just completely dies, so I have to plug it in to the USB and wait 5 minutes for it to start up, THEN it says it has a low battery. The phone has a generic wall charger.
When I got my 9700 it was running smooth. I downloaded a few apps and all of a sudden it started showing the little loading clock on almost everything I ran, so I deleted a few apps and voala!. It was working good again. But now, I have not downloaded any new apps and is giving me that clock againg.
my blackberry has worked fine in the couple of months i have had it, however a few weeks ago the browser and bbm completely stopped working. i took the battery and sim out and then when i put them back in it worked fine again.a few days ago the same thing happened, i tried taking the sim out again and it didnt work, have done it a few times. i rang o2 and they suggested putting it on to manual network and try connecting again, have also done this a few times and it still hasnt worked. i have the right plan and pay to get unlimited browsing, it usually is fine but stopped working randomly.
My browser stopped working about a week ago - can still email, bbm, facebook, twitter, weather network etc. Just can't look at any pages in browser. It says 'Requesting' along bottom and watch bar slowly move across, then it eventually says:'Unable to connect to the selected Mobile Data Service, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your administrator'I've gone into a Bell store and after taking the battery out and back in(which I told him I'd already tried to no avail), he suggested its because my system is on v.5 and that I should go home plug it in and update it. Went home, plugged it in and 'no updates available'.Have now resorted to support forum solutions as its a business phone and can't let it get sent away even though I pay extra every month for the service plan. Have tried the Service Books recommendation and no change.
I am using BB Bold 9700 & since from few days whenever i am tring to open any site on internet the browser doent allow to open any site & only jumping to blackberry web site.
i purchased a Blackberry bold 9700 (unlocked) and I'm currently using an H2O sim card. My bb seems to be getting signal from H2O and I can call, sms, etc. However, There seems to be a browser problem (yes, I'm on a data plan). I firstly, I went to the browser configuration option and tried changing my browser to H2O. However, it only shows Medianet and Hotspot. When I try switching it to hotspot and reopen browser config again, it still shows medainet even after I saved it. I also went to Settings>Advanced Options>Host Routing Table which shows *No Entries*?
Using the standard browser on my Bold 9700, when I try and do a Google search, or when I look at most pages, the page doesn't load at all. When I refresh it a few times or change between column and regular view some of the page shows up sometimes, but not all of it. I've had my BlackBerry since about a month ago and the problem just started last night.
I've done the battery pull several times, and I've cleared the cache a lot. Problem still persists. Opera meanwhile can load any page.
I don't know of any other fixes, so, is there maybe a way I can reinstall the BlackBerry browser? I would really prefer to use it instead of Opera.
Starting when I installed 5.0.0.545, and continuing on .593, and .593 pwncakes hybrid I have this minor problem I did not used to have. On my browser's go to page, the icons for the search options are cut off or missing. See the images below. This did not happen with my stock .293, .405, or any versions I used prior to .545
Is this "normal" or is something a little off with my 9700? I don't think I've wiped it since my .545 install, just upgraded.
I have been using the bold 9700 for a few months now and love it. My brother decided to buy the same phone yesterday, in the new white color. He hasn't been able to download anything, such as app world. We also discovered that there is no internet browser besides web2go. When I tried to change his default browser to simply "internet browser", that was not an option; it was only web2go or hotspot browser. T-mobile is closed today b/c of holiday, so hopefully someone here can help me! Does anyone have any insight?
when I click on the browser icon, the browser won't open and take me to the internet. All my other apps work, Facebook, Twitter, TSN, etc.
When I pull the battery, re-install, and re-boot the icon will work and I will be able to access the internet exactly one time! The second time following a battery removal re-boot when I try to access the internet via pushing the icon, it doesn't work.
i have tried to change the default browser on my 9700 but when i try there is no other options than hotspot browser and i cant edit it for internet browser or blackberry browser
I recently upgraded my bold 9700 to OS 6. I want to use WiFi as default browser. In OS 5 there was option to set the default browser. Is it possible to set Wifi as default browser in OS6?
Out of the blue today my browser just stopped working. My camera also doesnt work any longer. Tried trouble shooting the camera and was able to get it to work momentarily by putting my finger in front of the flash but that only allowed me to take black photos so i think the lense is shot. I can live without the camera. But i cannot live without the browser. i get the message unable to connect to the internet please try again laterI can still download apps fromblackberry app world, play music from my apps, use apps. get email, bb messenger works. texting etc. I can connect through wifi or the network.I have tried cleaning out the cache, doing diagnosis of the mobile network, battery pull. running out of ideas
Since upgrading to 6.0 OS, the new browser keeps crashing (on the Bell network). It either doesn't nothing when I click on the icon, or it will load about 10% and crash. If I do a battery pull reboot, browser will work again for a short period, then randomly crash again.
Out of the blue browser stopped working for me and says: Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later. This has been going on for about a week. Bolt works for me but browser does not. I can't even change my default browser to browser anymore or even change it to bolt. It just gives me option of hotspot and web2go. How do I fix this problem? Going to HRT and registering still will not give me my browser back or the option to pick it as default browser like I previously had.
I love the native browser except for how it displays crackberry.com forums. The text is microscopic no matter which text size I set it at. I do know that I have to pull the battery for a text change to update (.405 software), but even that doesn't seem to change the forum's font size while other sites like ESPN and Facebook are affected.
The Opera cursor is way too laggy for me but that broswer displays the forums great and the BerryBlab app is way too slow for loading the forums and threads.I this an issue with my OS? How do you guys view the forums in native browser?
I can't switch back to my "WAP 2.0 Browser(CSL)" anymore. I did a battery pull, and after that when it switched but when I tried to load a page it said "This is a wifi service".I have the service books:
My phone has never had this problem. I can still receive email and text, but when I try and access the internet via World Phone, the "loading" never completes.
my wife just set up her email by calling Tmobile 611 she does the 2 minute battery pull and starts back up and now she gets a java error and can not open her internet browser. I am at work and since we only have bb for phones she can not call back 611 to help her with her phone. Anyone have any suggestions?
Like the title suggest, every time i try to use the browser to go on a site i get this "unable to connect to the internet please try again" I dont have the BB data plan, but the internet always worked over wifi and yesterday it stopped working and i dont know why. I did a quick pull hoping that would fix the problem but it hasn't. Anyone can help me? Also the bolt browser works over wifi...
