Feb 25, 2010When I try to open a link in my email I get "Invalid Address" I'm using Os 5.0.0.402 When I sink to Desktop Manager it says no updates.

Mar 31, 2010I am getthing this error from my Mdeamon 11 account. I have gone through all the fixes that I could find on this site but ierther the do not work or do not apply to MD 11.
Is there any other fix that I can try.
BB Bold 9700 :: 9700 Is Restarting And Address Book Contacts Are Gone
Mar 25, 2010I noticed that my bold 9700 is restarting on its own , then the screen become white with writing JVM error 503, I search the internet to find out what happen, but few second later the phone rebooted own its own.
so i cross my finger while it was doing it. to my relieve it starts ok. But after few hours when i want to call somebody on my phone book, to my horror, the whole contacts on the address book are gone, not even 1 left, it’s totally empty. bbm, notepad, email, bookmarks, sms are fine , nothing is missing only the contacts are gone, and I’m now overseas for company meeting, and i didn’t bring any backup file with me, I’ve been a maniac for smart phones, i used Symbian, IPhone, android, winMo, etc and NONE of them ever give me such a problem out of no where, my 2000+ contacts are gone. And no I didn’t install or do anything to my phone since few weeks, cause I’m on my business trip.
is there any solution to my problem? I’ve tried sending service book bust doesn’t seem to help. Seriously, if Any of RIM employee or designer happens to see this post, i got question for you. This supposed to be a business phone, and now all my business contacts are gone.

Aug 9, 2010I just got a 9700 yesterday and I am in Canada. I don't see the "I want to reate or add an email address". I can't seem to find the solution to that. Couple other questions I have. I don't have a data plan, can I still use BBM and download all the apps ? Also do I need to set up an email account to download apps and use BBM ?

Mar 19, 2010I just received my new phone from att (faulty trackpad). I used the device switch wizard, and now my meterberry and quicklaunch apps will not work. I keep getting an invalid registration code error. Do I have to repurchase these apps or is there a way to fix this?

May 25, 2010I am trying to upgrade my BB Bold 9700 via the blackberry automatic web site. I also have downloaded the 9700 software from TMobile. I have upgraded and restored my BB9700 3x now and each time after upgrading, it prompts that my SIM card is invalid, and thus I do not get any service. I can restore my BB9700 to an older version, then everything works just fine. I don't get why I am unable to upgrade to the newest 5.0 software though?
I've tried the upgrade via the Desktop Software...
I've tried the upgrade via the Blackberry Website auto update button...
I've tried the upgrade via TMobile's bbugrade site as well...
All tries do the same, my SIM card after the upgrades is "Invalid"...Does anyone have any answers on how to fix this, or do I have to stay with the older versions to keep my phone working.

May 28, 2010Made the huge leap from a crappy reg phone to the 9700 a month ago. Its been sweet till all the errors started happeneing. Was hoping someone could help me out.
Here are symptoms as I've noticed them:
1) Wouldn't get audible notifications anymore. Now alerts, no alarms, no rintones,no nothing. Went to my ringtone/alert settings and did "TRY IT" to test a sound. The message I got was something about invalid filename. I got this msg even for sounds native to the bb device!
I did a battery pull, then all was good
2) Same issue kept re-occuring and also noticed my battery would be 75% full when I went to bed. Then like RED (5%) when I woke up. The device was also HOT! I battery pull again. Voila! (Until the next time it happens)
3) Press voicedial button. Then it says "scanning contacts, please wait" it gets to 100% and does nothing. Even after an hour.
Anyone know whatts going on? The only thing I changed during this time frame was the SD card (2GB to 8GB). So I switched back to the old card. Issues still exist. I even deleted soduku (buddy told me to try this) but it didn't help.

Jan 2, 2010Earlier today, my BB started doing something weird. When I get a new email, I highlight it and press the trackball to open it, but it opens the previously received email instead. If I hit the back button (taking me back to the email list) and then hit the new email again, it still takes me to the previous email. The only way to open the new email is to scroll up to the date and then back to the email, which will then open the correct one.
Also, if the new email is highlighted and I delete it, it deletes the previous email instead.
I've tried a battery pull and it doesn't help. I'm on a TMO 9700 running OS .330.
BB Bold 9700 :: Device Manager - Opening Screen Is Asking For A Passwod
Jul 12, 2010On connecting the 9700 to the device manager on my laptop, the opening screen is asking me for a password before I can access the manager its self !
I have entered the password that unlocks my keypad to make a call, but its telling me its incorrect ? Other than the keypad access code which is 6 digits I have not entered any other code " infact its a new phone and Im still trying to get my head around it,
Ive called the service provider and they cant help and direct me to the Blackberry website ! Ive looked throughout the site and as yet havent come up with any thing.
BB Bold 9700 :: Missed Calls And Voice Mail Alerts Not Opening?
Jun 24, 2010I am new to Blackberry and I have some questions about my 9700. I have tried looking to see if this has been posted but I didn’t see anything. I recently installed the .602 OS and did the battery pull and all that hoping it would fix the problem but it hasn’t. The problem is when I miss a phone call and receive a voice mail. I do have the visual voice mail set up and to my knowledge that works fine. The visual voice mail alert popup shows up first and when I go to play the VM, it starts playing and then the missed call alert popup shows up on top of VM. I can either open the missed call to view it or dismiss it. If I open it, I can’t do anything to the VW since it is still going or not going anymore in background and if I dismiss the missed call, I have to go back a view the missed call in the call log to get the icon to go away. Also, once everything is done, my SMS & MMS folder opens up for no reason that I am aware of. Is this normal for everyone’s phone? If not, do I have a setting wrong that I am not aware of? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Aug 23, 2011I have a problem to sync my contact list using Blackberry Desktop Software. the problem is only 29 out of my 300+ contacts are synced. In my BB phone i noticed that in "Contacts/Options" there are two Contact Lists both with the name "Desktop". the first one has 29 entries and the "Wireless Synchronization" option is available but for the second contact list which has the rest of my contacts, the "Wireless Synchronization" is not available ! it seems that Blackberry Desktop Software can not sync with the second Contact List because of this.

Jan 23, 2010Can't get Activity Log to pick up any results. Use feature heavliy with 8350 model and can't get it to work on the 9700. AT&T is carrier and current software is V5.0.0.405 and software is enterprise server based. Any suggestions here?

Mar 10, 2010I read where there is pretty much no way to reassign different names to the number in the address book of the curve but can this be done on our 9700? for instance, my friend has way too many phone numbers for his job and they are all mobile numbers. Is there any way for me to label one like nextel or somehting and one personal cell and one work cell? When I used BB Desktop Manager restore to bring my data onto the 9700, it brought my old email address along with it. The new carrier has no clue on how to erase it. When entering a new contact the software will not allow me to enter a Canadian style alpha-numeric postal code -- in that field the keyboard is set to only use the number pad. Even if i show the contact's country as canada the field does not change.I can, however, enter contacts in Contact Manger in Outlook then synch the address book -- and the postal code shows up properly.

After experiencing some problems I decided to start from cero and deleted all contacts of my yahoo address book. I then synchronized with the Blackberry desktop manager (arrow pointing out in both directions) and loaded all data from the device (address book) to yahoo.
When I do changes using my PC directly in yahoo and then sync with device all works apparently OK, e.g. if I modify a name adding a surname that will be synchronized correctly in the device, however the changes I do in an existing record in my device with the sync won't be done in yahoo.
What shall I do to have all changes done to my device's adress book in the yahoo account.

May 3, 2010When I go to compose a new email, and I hit the first letter, I get a list of all the email addresses that have ever emailed me or that I have sent an email to. Question: How the heck do I delete certain entries from this list? Or how do I just clear the entire list? I prefer to delete certain entries like Outlook allows me to, but for some reason I cant find out how to do this on Blackberry Email.
