BB Bold 9700 :: Unable To Send Text Messages / Opened Received Messages
Jul 24, 2010Just recently I have had some problems sending normal text messages..The problem is when I want to send a text I go to my contacts and try to send a sms message, but instead of opening up a conversation window I get taken straight to my recieved messages... I havent had a problem replying to messages after people have texted me, its iniating the converstation thats not working.

Jun 28, 2010Starting yesterday night, every time I would try to open the activity log for my boyfriend, the phone will freeze. I took the battery out and turned the device off. Once back on, I noticed that some of my text messages were missing between us. Its only him, no other contact in my phone. Does anyone know why. When I do a search for it, I see all the text messages even the ones missing but every time I try to pull it up in messages, it doesn't show up and freezes. I've only had the device for a couple of days.

Jul 21, 2010For the past week or so, my texts messages get stuck. What I mean..If I'm texting a friend and we are going back and forth, all of a sudden, the text msg wont open. I can scroll thru the list and open, reply to my other friends, but not the one im communicating with at that moment. I press the trackpad a ton of times and it just wont open. Even if I receive a new text, it still wont open.Can anyone diagnose this problem and tell me what I should do? I'm sick of doing the 5min battery pulls.

When I am typing a text (SMS) message on my new Blackberry Bold 9700, if I press ALT-DEL it will delete the entire message. I never had this problem on my old Blackberry Curve 8900. Apr 21, 2010I have an E63 that is about 4 months old. It stopped opening my text messages a few weeks ago, but I was able to open them again after an hour or so. It has been a few hours and I'm starting to become worried because my phone isn't opening the messages at all. Whenever I click the select button or select "open" from the message menu it acts as if I didn't press any button. I can reply back, and it'll mark it as read, but I cannot personally see the full text message.

May 16, 2010I have my phone set up to auto off and on each day. I also have run a Wifi at my house, so my phone is always using this connection first. Most times when I try to send my first message of the day it hangs until I shut down all connections. I do notice that the UMA isnt connected. I see the 5 bars with wifi. After a on/off cycle the UMA and wifi come back on. The wifi signal is strong at 2-3 lines always. Its like the 3G and UMA are fighting one another and no one wins. Am I missing something?

Jul 14, 2010So I just recently upgraded from the curve 8310 to the new bold 9700 on att literally two days ago and i love it! But one problem i'am having trouble with sending and receiving text messages. I have called att customer care numerous times and powered cycled my phone as many times as I can count but still nothing, I have also checked to see if the "service center" number is correct and it is, I still have no clue what it could be. When i send an sms text message and scroll up to the message it says "sent" and the date and time but i ask the recipient if he/she has received the text but still nothing.

Aug 15, 2010I had this problem on my prior 9700. What happens is when I open up an unread text message it always doesn't show that text on the screen. Instead it brings me to a random part of the conversation(although it is usually the same part over and over). This is very small, but very annoying indeed. Jan 14, 2010My 9700 recently started not letting me view my new text messages. For example, sometimes I get forwarded chain texts and it won't let me view them, it'll show a random block of text and that's it. And if I try to reply to it, it won't show me my reply, it's only doing this with a few contacts, but it's still extremely annoying.I've tried uninstalling my third party apps and it didn't fix it, is it a setting I have to change or does anyone know anything?

1-I can't send or receive texts from certain contacts (right now it only seems to be from my boyfriend, we're both on At&t).

Jul 10, 2012We have recently upgraded a few 9630 Curves and 9900 Bolds to OS 7.1 (Curve to 7.1.0.336, Bold to 7.1.0.342) from T-Mobile UK. We have one pressing issue that happens on the upgraded curves and bolds. After a few consecutive missed calls when you go in to the messages application it does not show emails, it shows the Missed calls list. No matter how many times you back out and go back in, Missed calls (only) are displayed. Also the same when you go into the call log. it only shows missed calls. I am not aware of a keyboard shortcut to show missed calls only and do not think that is the case as it has happened to these devices too many times after upgrading to 7.1. Has anyone seen this or can provide any assistance?

Jan 2, 2010Earlier today, my BB started doing something weird. When I get a new email, I highlight it and press the trackball to open it, but it opens the previously received email instead. If I hit the back button (taking me back to the email list) and then hit the new email again, it still takes me to the previous email. The only way to open the new email is to scroll up to the date and then back to the email, which will then open the correct one.
Also, if the new email is highlighted and I delete it, it deletes the previous email instead.
I've tried a battery pull and it doesn't help. I'm on a TMO 9700 running OS .330.
BB Bold 9700 :: Device Manager - Opening Screen Is Asking For A Passwod
Jul 12, 2010On connecting the 9700 to the device manager on my laptop, the opening screen is asking me for a password before I can access the manager its self !
I have entered the password that unlocks my keypad to make a call, but its telling me its incorrect ? Other than the keypad access code which is 6 digits I have not entered any other code " infact its a new phone and Im still trying to get my head around it,
Ive called the service provider and they cant help and direct me to the Blackberry website ! Ive looked throughout the site and as yet havent come up with any thing.
BB Bold 9700 :: Missed Calls And Voice Mail Alerts Not Opening?
Jun 24, 2010I am new to Blackberry and I have some questions about my 9700. I have tried looking to see if this has been posted but I didn’t see anything. I recently installed the .602 OS and did the battery pull and all that hoping it would fix the problem but it hasn’t. The problem is when I miss a phone call and receive a voice mail. I do have the visual voice mail set up and to my knowledge that works fine. The visual voice mail alert popup shows up first and when I go to play the VM, it starts playing and then the missed call alert popup shows up on top of VM. I can either open the missed call to view it or dismiss it. If I open it, I can’t do anything to the VW since it is still going or not going anymore in background and if I dismiss the missed call, I have to go back a view the missed call in the call log to get the icon to go away. Also, once everything is done, my SMS & MMS folder opens up for no reason that I am aware of. Is this normal for everyone’s phone? If not, do I have a setting wrong that I am not aware of? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
