For some reason I have ended up with the unopened message count showing one unopened message. There are no unopened messages on my device. I have cleared the Messages database using the desktop software but the device is still showing one unread message despite there are no messages on my device at all.Any idea how to reset the counter to zero?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere is one thing that drives me insane about my BB 9000 and that is when displaying the time it takes into count the time zone. When I travel my BB is also my clock. So when landing into an airport that is in a different time zone I have to take that into count. For example I live in CST, so landing into a EST city I have to go into my option and change the time zone from CST to EST. If I don't then I am am an hour slow.
Now I see there is an option in Options => Date/Time called "Date/Time Source". I have this selected to "Network". This doesn't seem to help. I do see that it updates based on the network but the time zone is still in effect. For example;
Time Zone: CST
Time: 2:30 PM
Network time: 3:30 PM
Is there a way to force the BB not to take into count time zone?
Problem Description: My device did a sw update last night. This morning when I went to put on the device, Steps Count was at Zero (As Expected) and Calorie Count was at 3500. I would tyically see a count of 500 - 600 in the morning. When I took off the device last night it was at 3100. View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently moved from US to India and brought with me my favorite Storm 9530. In US I had Verizon as my carrier and I switched to Vodafone in India. Before I switched to Vodafone, there were 5 unread/unheard voice messages and hence my Storm was showing 5 o_o on home screen. After I switched to Vodafone, this count did not reset. I tried all over the web for a solution to remove this notification from my device, but did not find any workable solution.According to my understanding, I thought the count will automatically reset once I activate my Vodafone voicemail, but after I signed up, I realized that Vodafone India does not use "Device Notification" method for voicemails, but sends a SMS everytime you have a VM. With the result, the older count that has been set in my device never gets reset or reinitialized.Is there someone who can give me a solution to reset this? Is there a way/software that will let me access the internal data structures of the device and reset it. My carrier, Vodafone India has already informed me that they cannot help me with this.

I have a gmail account set up on my Bold 9650 and everything works properly EXCEPT that I cannot get it to show me the message count of unread messages (which usually should show up in parenthesis when I scroll over the account envelope icon). It seems that this is an issue with the Bold 9650 in particular because I have gotten the gmail unread message count to work on other blackberry devices, but not my (or another friend's) Bold 9650.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI also noticed that after i updated my software whenever I receive a message, the display message indicator at home doesn't indicate the total number of text message i receive but rather it displays the number of contacts who sent me messages. like for example contact A sent me 2 messages. It will only appear as 1 and not 2. how do i solve this problem? Do you experience the same?

I upgraded my Bold 9000 to v5.0.0.592 (Bundle 1004, Platform 5.2.0.57) to see if that would fix a power drain problem. Since then I've had an icon indicating an unopened SMS or MMS, but I can't find this phantom message to open it.Settings:Messages, Menu, Options, Inbox Settings, Email Accounts: all are ticked. Other Messages Types: SMS And MMS is not ticked.

Display New Message Indicator: Yes.From the desktop, the SMS and MMS application shows the following text at the bottom: "(1) SMS And MMS", but when I go in, there are no unopened (yellow speech bubble) messages, only 1 opened (white speech bubble) SMS (it's in the SMS SIM Card Inbox). If I choose Menu, Mark Unopened on that SMS, the icon indicates 2 unopened SMS or MMSs; I then open it and the icon shows 1 unopened message; so it's not message.There are no unread messages when doing the following search SMS And MMS, Menu, Search, leaving everything as default except for Show which is changed to Unopened Only, Menu, Search: "Search Results (0), * No Messages *".There are no unread messages when viewing the following folders: MMS Inbox, MMS Outbox, SMS Conversations, SMS Inbox, SMS Outbox, and SMS SIM Card Inbox. I also checked all the other folders, no unopened messages there either. I just received the "white screen of death" with the new operating system for my tour. I had to go to the Verizon store just to get access to my phone. After rebooting my phone told me that I had 35 new texts and a number of unread messages. I have tried everything short of deleting all of my messages. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I upgraded to BB OS 5.0 I now have my message indicator default is 10 unread messages. I have gone into SMS, Email, missed calls and have asked to have all messages marked as prior read and it doesn't go away.
so if my day starts with 10 messages marked as unread and I get new ones thru the day it goes up and as I read these messages it goes down BUT never goes below 10.
If I have to reboot due to an app upgrade It may go up, not always but sometimes, I am now @ a steady 14 unread messages according to my message indicator. I really have NO unread messages
For my work email, (Exchange) I have a tile pinned on my home screen. The message count is showing 8 on the icon. All messages have been read, but the message count is not updating. It shouldn't have anything for the message count now, but it is showing 8.

I had a samsung charge that had this feature and it was great option. When you are getting emails all day and calendar appointments notification showing up. I am currently using the latest release of 5.0 and last night my phone was working fine. When I woke up this morning, my screen had the "App error 205" message on it. That is two failures in one month now and I have to go to work in a few minutes so I won't even have time to wipe my device to at least have a working phone for the day. - the SMS and MMS icon is lost.
- i cannot find my sms outbox messages.
when i try to send a text message i get a red clock and the message is attending and is never send.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy live tile for Outlook was working until the update. When I get a new email, I don't get the unread message count on the live tile. This worked before the update. I also removed the email account and re-added it, but the message count does not show up on a new email.
I do get the alert sound when I get an email along with a notification, just no count on the live tile.
