My little message notification icon doesn't count how many new messages I have anymore... Not that it's a necessity, but all my other notifications still count, why doesn't this one how to get it to work properly again?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am guessing that this is properly a WP8 question, but having the Icon, and being new to WP8 (and therefore not knowing if all of these settings are by phone model or across the platform) I figured I'd start by posting it here. My question is, when I add my yahoo mail account through the basic email setup on the phone, will I receive notifications when mail arrives? I know that I could just send myself mail and see, but there are two reasons why this isn't a perfect way to get an answer. First, I am having issues getting other email pushed, and therefore don't always get notifications from the other accounts. Second, there is no push option for yahoo, but you can select it to check the server every so often- with 15 minutes being the shortest.
I don't want there to be an audible notification. My yahoo mail is more of a junk account than anything. There is no option under settings for it to turn notifications on or off, so I am wondering (and hoping) if it simply doesn't have an audible notification?
I have a problem with my messages, i dont remember if its after the last software update, but every time i get a new message, it doesnt appear on the notifcation bar or even make a sound, i just by conisidence when i open my lock screen or go to home screen i see 1 on my messsages icon.

However, I need to figure out how could I transfer all my data.The blackberry desk manager never did work on my old phone witch. After plugging in the new phone on my PC it asked if I wanted to transfer my data... So I did.I realized that when I was receiving text messages they were looking more like email icons. I tried to look up in my options and I can't find anything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive a new SMS message, and read it. The unread message notification doesn't disappear. The only way I've found to get rid of them is to use Nokia Suite, and read them there. Otherwise the notification icon remains.

Lately (last week or 2) I get the new message icon displayed, but when I open my messages folder the red asterick goes away but the envolpe icon still is there and the count goes up. Currently it says 4 but I do not have any unread emails, nor any unread facebook messages. The only way to 'reset' this is a battrr pull. But then it starts generating again. I just updated 4.6.1.319 hoping this would help but sstill the same problems. If any other info is needed please let me know.

If I have a text message conversation open and receive a new message from the same contact, the notification icon pops up, I'm properly notified, but then it won't clear without backing out of the conversation to the higher level text messaging section. I have had success a few times with tapping on the new message to clear the notification icon, but not all the time. This was not an issue I noticed with the previous version of Android.

I did my first text over 160 characters and I received a text from Verizon saying I went over my character limit. It didn't send it in two texts and it also didn't tell me where it cut off. I had to get on my computer, Open a character counter, Retype the text to see where the 160 mark was. Is there an easier way to do this? Can I send the text in two pieces instead of retyping half the text?

In the notification area (between the Profile icon and serach icon) where it shows the number of text messages, emails, missed calls etc, a symbol has appear that looks like the WiFi symbol but in yellow. Does any know what this notification icon means or where there is a complete list of icons on the web?
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe text message icon normally disappears once I review the notification or read the text message itself. Same for any type of notification. The trouble is that sometimes the notification icon remains. I receive the notification, activate the icon but the icon remains in the notification area. Reactivating it opens a reply screen with the onscreen keboard. Hitting return does not eliminate the notification.
Cannot tell why it happens some times but it appears to only happen with text messsages. The sole solution is to reboot. A nuisance with corrupt icons. Whose problem, the carrier (Rogers) or BB ?
I received a new iphone from the apple store and had to restore from icloud.. many of my photos ended up corrupted. i've tried to reset and clear and re-do the restore from icloud and now have just given up to deal with my broken photos and delete them off my phone.. now - in the settings app - my iphone photo count and the camera roll photo count doesn't add up. is there still something wrong with my iphone? how do i reset the count or is there something else I need to do? should i set up as new phone?

View 9 Replies View RelatedSince I did the new update, it's just displaying the badge icon circle (bubble) on the app, but no unread count. With e-mail and facebook I noticed it so far.
When I restart my phone it works, but then anything new after I delete those messages, it just goes back to no display count and a white bubble.
On the main display 18 ( SMS and MMS) message count is displayed. However, after reading all messages, the 18 messages icon remains on the main screen . How can I re-set this to 0?

After rebooting my phone told me that I had 35 new texts and a number of unread messages. I have tried everything short of deleting all of my messages. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I upgraded to BB OS 5.0 I now have my message indicator default is 10 unread messages. I have gone into SMS, Email, missed calls and have asked to have all messages marked as prior read and it doesn't go away.
so if my day starts with 10 messages marked as unread and I get new ones thru the day it goes up and as I read these messages it goes down BUT never goes below 10.
If I have to reboot due to an app upgrade It may go up, not always but sometimes, I am now @ a steady 14 unread messages according to my message indicator. I really have NO unread messages
For my work email, (Exchange) I have a tile pinned on my home screen. The message count is showing 8 on the icon. All messages have been read, but the message count is not updating. It shouldn't have anything for the message count now, but it is showing 8.
