When I receive a new SMS message, and read it. The unread message notification doesn't disappear. The only way I've found to get rid of them is to use Nokia Suite, and read them there. Otherwise the notification icon remains.

The download successful but my notification bar shows that it is still downloading. I just cant remove that thing from my notification. I tried evrything restarted device several times & reseted the phone settings to default, still it is there. I am so much irritated.

The breathing light seems to just breathe all the time in standby mode, which I find a little creepy... If I have a text message conversation open and receive a new message from the same contact, the notification icon pops up, I'm properly notified, but then it won't clear without backing out of the conversation to the higher level text messaging section. I have had success a few times with tapping on the new message to clear the notification icon, but not all the time. This was not an issue I noticed with the previous version of Android.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe text message icon normally disappears once I review the notification or read the text message itself. Same for any type of notification. The trouble is that sometimes the notification icon remains. I receive the notification, activate the icon but the icon remains in the notification area. Reactivating it opens a reply screen with the onscreen keboard. Hitting return does not eliminate the notification.
Cannot tell why it happens some times but it appears to only happen with text messsages. The sole solution is to reboot. A nuisance with corrupt icons. Whose problem, the carrier (Rogers) or BB ?
Since the Lollipop update I have noticed that the voicemail icon does not disappear after having listened to and deleted the message. It still remains in the notification bar until I restart the phone.

Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. View 3 Replies View RelatedNow this is one wierd problem i am facing since the past 2 days. I m not getting notification for any SMS i recieve on my phone. Usually the phone shows missed calls and text message notification at the bottom of the screen and also icons represting missed calls and message (envelope like icon) on the right hand corner of the screen. however since the past two days i m not receiving the sms notification. I receive it only for missed calls. Also wenever i receive a message, there is no sms tone. so everytime i need to check messages i have to get into the message folder.
To sum it up, when i recieve a missed call, my sreen says one missed call, similar it should 1 message (wen i get a message). However it only shows one missed call and DOES NOT SHOW one message, even if i have actually received a message.
Insted of writing any hate speach i will just request Nokia to spend good time in testing products before releasing in market...silly thing are giving more bad publicity than doing any good for Nokia.Now, can anyone tell me how do i solve this SMS problem... under all profiles, General, Outdoor etc.. the phone does not give any alert (sound or vibrate).I read other blogs, deleted all the SMS, inbox, outbox (also faced problem deleting MMS...deferred)...Even after deleting all messages by select all and delete..the conversation still shows them all...and there is no way to delete them...Bottom line... what needs to be done to get SMS notification..sound/vibrate back in place on N8?
