I am not getting email notification in my nokia n8, not even notification sound. Every i have to refresh my email account to check for new mails. How can i enable the email notification sound in my n8?
View 3 RepliesIve got a Nokia 808 PureView which i really like but i do have one problem which is really bugging me. I cant seem to find a way of getting any email notifications, when i have a missed call or a new text message the lock screen shows this but it doesnt show anything for new emails. Is this the way Nokia have done it or am i just being stupid and cant find the right setting to turn notifications on?
View 13 Replies View RelatedNow this is one wierd problem i am facing since the past 2 days. I m not getting notification for any SMS i recieve on my phone. Usually the phone shows missed calls and text message notification at the bottom of the screen and also icons represting missed calls and message (envelope like icon) on the right hand corner of the screen. however since the past two days i m not receiving the sms notification. I receive it only for missed calls. Also wenever i receive a message, there is no sms tone. so everytime i need to check messages i have to get into the message folder.
To sum it up, when i recieve a missed call, my sreen says one missed call, similar it should 1 message (wen i get a message). However it only shows one missed call and DOES NOT SHOW one message, even if i have actually received a message.
Insted of writing any hate speach i will just request Nokia to spend good time in testing products before releasing in market...silly thing are giving more bad publicity than doing any good for Nokia.Now, can anyone tell me how do i solve this SMS problem... under all profiles, General, Outdoor etc.. the phone does not give any alert (sound or vibrate).I read other blogs, deleted all the SMS, inbox, outbox (also faced problem deleting MMS...deferred)...Even after deleting all messages by select all and delete..the conversation still shows them all...and there is no way to delete them...Bottom line... what needs to be done to get SMS notification..sound/vibrate back in place on N8?

Or I do not notice it at all.It would be even helpful to set the percentage of the capacity, when the notification beeps. In my previous Nokia 6233 the phone beeped in advance, enough for me to manage recharging. New Nokia 700 beeps too late...

Afterwards, I noticed that there has been some discussion (since 2010) around the issue that notifications in respect of birthdays is not possible from the contact list on this handset (that is without paying and installing a third party app to solve the problem.) My question is then: Why does the contact list even allow for input regarding birthdays? Really what is the purpose of this? Does anybody use this in some way? I do not use the phone's calender and it will be a tiresome exersise to update the odd 232 birthdays manually from my contact list to the calander, to get notifications.

Since the E72 home screen can ONLY fit 2 accounts (primary and secondary), my other 6 email accounts are left in cold. There are NO notifications whatsoever for these accounts - no flashing lights, no email icon on the bottom of the screen, no sound, etc.Yet, when I go into the email app and find the six other email accounts, there are new messages!Even on an old E61 there is email notifications on the home screen for all the accounts.Perhaps nobody in the Nokia development team has more than two email accounts?

I'm running the app with a red @ as icon, which was proposed by the device once started up.Please don't tell me to update the software, set the notification as visible, doing a hard reset, as I already did it all this stuff.I read somewhere to delete the file C:private10202be9persist which can be found by using X-plore. Again: I did install it, but that folder named private is not shown (shall I think that there isn't any?).Does anyone reckon that this issue may be fixable?

Disabling or enabling this option doesn't change anything whatsoever. I like new features but I prefer having no option rather than being teased by a half-arsed setting.

I then get prompted for email and password, but i don't get anny options for Gmail, Yahoo etc, and the only option is "mail for exchange" and that doesn't work with the gmail account.
Could it be that my email account has a "." in it... im running out of options here... have done a factory reset and everything.
