I have updated my phone to the latest software. Since that the emai notification wont go even after reading and downloading every mail. Do somebody have a hint?
View 9 RepliesProblem observed by me on any firmware version, I'm using actually v 50.0.005 in my 5800XM.If you have over 200 e-mails in your mailbox on server and you have downloaded them into the phone (even only e-mails headers) then icon in upper right corner (that envelope with @ sign) doesn't want disappear. Only phone turn off then turn on is solution which is not so funny.Any ideas? Magic spells? Wake up developers! This bug? is very irritating.

I know how to set up my email accounts on my BB 9000 but I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way you could set it so that it only downloaded emails when you tell it to and not always checking the email?
View 8 Replies View RelatedNo reason for that: one day it just disappeared, leaving a blank line between the 2 black horizontal separator. I'm running the app with a red @ as icon, which was proposed by the device once started up.Please don't tell me to update the software, set the notification as visible, doing a hard reset, as I already did it all this stuff.I read somewhere to delete the file C:private10202be9persist which can be found by using X-plore. Again: I did install it, but that folder named private is not shown (shall I think that there isn't any?).Does anyone reckon that this issue may be fixable?

Disabling or enabling this option doesn't change anything whatsoever. I like new features but I prefer having no option rather than being teased by a half-arsed setting.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy xpressmusic 5800 has decided to stop reading my memory card. It is the original 8gb micro sd card from Nokia. I'm no longer able to use apps such as Ovi Maps and I don't have enough memory to update it.I haven't dropped the phone nor have I removed the memory card until after it stopped reading.What can I do? It has some stuff on there I would like to keep as I hadn't got round to uploading it so even if I had the option to would I be able to retrieve some data off it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIssue #1: I deleted all of my music on my 5800 and reloaded all new music (about 2 gigs worth), I restarted the phone and then refreshed my library. It added my new music but it did not delete the old music. How can I delete these old files from my library.
Issue #2: Every time I connect my phone in Mass Storage mode and sometimes in PC Suite mode, the Messenger says that it is Unable to Read the memory card and switches my text message saves to the C:, I then have to go back and change my message save location back to E: manually. Is there a way to stop the phone from doing this.
Issue #3: After upgrading my 5800 to v40 my left headphone plays louder than my right. I have tried different headphones and different songs and they all played the same. I am push the plug all the way in. It was working just fine before the upgrade. Is anyone else having this same issue?
These attention to detail issues get annoying when they pop up, Nokia (or Symbian) really needs to fix these issues. Some of these issue carry over from update to update and thats not good business. I would like to stay away from resetting my phone if at all possible...I have done so many resets, I have lost count and quite frankly my phone is setup the way I wont it and do not want to sit and set it up again.
My iPhone 4s freezes when dowloading emails and only responds when downloading is finished. Is this normal?

Suddenly, I stopped receiving any push notifications from mail. I tried reset, deleting and adding account, toggle through all notifiction options, restarting the phone. I also have problem receiving notifications from facebook. rest of all app notification works fine.

I was downloading applications on my phone and during the process it would stop working. I closed out of the Ovi store and now it will not even open. I click on the Ovi store app button and it pops up the symbol(Nokia Ovi) and sits there for eternity. I have reset the phone 3 times and to no avail, it continues. I have uninstalled the application 4-5 times and even tried to download the earlier version. I still can't get into the Ovi store.
I am not sure what happened. I contacted Nokia and they say that my phone doesnt support the Ovi store. My question is HOW was i downloading apps for a week and all of a sudden it just doesnt work. Why would ONE phone not be supported by nokia when clearly on the box, in the instructions, etc., it states that the Ovi store is accessable? I have had this phone for a week and a half and it already has these problems? What kind of smart phone CANT support or download applications, themes, and games.

I have set up an account on email.nokia.com using my gmail email address, but I get a message 'Invalid e-mail address' when using this address to setup messaging on my phone (5800). This is what I've done: In Settings Wizard, click Email Setup.
-Phone says "Allow application to use network to send or receive data?"
-I say "yes".
-Phone says "Testing network", then "Contacting email server".
-Phone gives me a screen with Yahoo, Gmail, Ovi etc.
-I click on Yahoo, then write my Yahoo email address.
-Phone says "Getting email settings", then "Unable to connect with the information provided. Please try again".
I've got a Nokia 5800 phone a few days ago. I'm trying to set the voice mail number using the standard procedure described in the user's guide. My carrier's voice mail number is *9 and when I try to set it I get an "invalid number" message. I've been reading a on the internet and it seems to be that numbers starting with a * have a special meaning on GSM phones and that is why it gets rejected. Is there an alternative way to set the voice mail number on a nokia 5800 phone?

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have a the T-Mobile version of the 5230 (the Nuron). I assumed that the notification light would flash after someone left a voice mail. T-Mobile Customer Service claims the Nuron does not do this. Under the Settings-Phone-Notification Lights-Notification Light-Events Notified screen, there are 3 options that can be checked: Missed Call, New Message, New E-Mail. I had hoped "New Message" included voice messages as well as text messages, but I guess not.
This means that I would have to turn on the screen to check for voice mails if I stepped away from my phone. (Note: I do get a flashing notification light for missed calls and texts. However, the missed call flashes stop as soon as the "new voice mail" message appears on the screen.) I've tried a soft reset with no improvement.
I saw notification area settings while I was surfing via menus when I bought the phone newly. Then I couldn't find it again. I want to put e-mail notificatons into the notification area like missing calls and incoming messages. I remember there was a settings like that.
