I have been going through various posts and websites. It looks like we can't customize email icons due to OS 5.0 security restriction and can say other way that OS 5.0 system files are read only!But I would still check to see if anyone succeeded in customizing email icons for Bold

I saw on the web where people can change the battery, antenna icon on the top. that look really neat, what is the program called to customize them?also, now i have 3 short cut in the front, until i pull up the 6 more shortcut will be scrolled up. Is it possible to have 4 or 5 in the first page?

View 8 Replies View RelatedWell as the title says, I think someone has my exact PIN number. Not the 4 digit security PIN, the "unique" handheld code for BlackBerry's. I found it odd one day when my bbm friends were saying I was asking them "Who are you?".
And when my friends asked who "I" was, he said Thomas, which is not my name! I checked my own PIN, and the PIN of Thomas, it's the same! I never had this problem before. Could it be that just in a billionth of a chance that RIM had made 2 BlackBerry's with the same PIN? his BlackBerry and turns out it's the same as mine.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy bb bold 9000 is stuck at the verify security software ..... it is at 100% security tests passed and it just didnt disappear as normal. I can't do anything with my bb. Oh i can hold on the bb button to look which program is running. I can push the dial button but just cant dial... i cant scroll or type anything. I faced this problem out of no where when i reboot the bb last night. i left it like that whole night thinking that i might need times.
I tried battery pull and alt+right shift+del to reset... it still not work... the OS version is 5.0 already,
I had a problem with my micro sd card which was rectified my a BB tech today. After he had me do a reset, my yahoo and hotmail message icons are missing. All of my messages go into the message file but not into the dedicated files under the right icon.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI did a security wipe on my Blackberry Bold 9900. I have managed to restore everything, however I cannot seem to set up my email address (which is a Yahoo address). I keep getting the error message that it has not been possible to connect to the server.
I have also foun a problem with my BBM, I am able to send messages, but no one can send any to me. This problem has also come about after the security wipe.
I need some help setting up my Blackberry Bold 9000. I bought it off of Ebay and I have already wiped with memory. I need help setting up my email account and all of that stuff. When i try to set up a personal email address the only option I get is for setting up a Work email. This is what it says "I want to use a work email account with a BLackberry Enterprise Server"

However when it was done, my email icons were gone. I can only read my emails with the "messages" icon, but not my different email adresses appart. Does anyone know how i can fix this?

1. Perform a complete back up using Blackberry Desktop Software.
2. Perform security wipe manually on the phone via Options > Security > Security Wipe.
3. After wiped, I using Blackberry Desktop Software to restore my backed up data.
4. Starting from now, i can't send/receive emails.
I have try go to Setup > Email Accounts > click into Internet Mail Account, but it bound back to the Setup page. Then i try Message icon > Options > Email Account Management, it prompt up "Unable to open email setup application. Contact your wireless service provider" message. May I khow what happen to my blackberry?

I've searched every forums and search engine for this, but cannont pin point my exact problem...I bought a 9780 yesterday, everything was fine, i set up my emails etc... everything worked.THEN... i stupidly security waped the phone this when things changed.Once the phone came back on i re-configured my email accounts, but now when i go onto my emails i see no inbox folder or emails what was there previouslyALTHOUGH i can send and recieve emails, but these come in list format...Ive made sure and uncheak the hide folder and sent numerous service book requests (these come through...)

I'm referring to the branded icons, not the generic BB envelope/globe icons. I've sent service books and done battery pulls. Has anyone else ever had this problem upon initial set up? The 3 accounts are a BlackBerry, Hotmail and a company account (Outlook) with Microsoft Exchange I was able to get the BlackBerry and the Hotmail account to work again by entering the passwords but not the Outlook account, the error message is: [URL] password is invalid. Please try again Last night I was able to get my Outlook email account to work again however I lost it again this morning with same error message, p.s. also lost the other 2 accounts this morning but got them going again easily.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a strange issue on my BlackBerry 9700 Bold, which I got on Orange UK. For some reason my E-mail and SMS Notifications are stacking under the same icon. So for example if I have 3 e-mails and 1 text it shows 4 as the e-mail Notification icon. I have friends on Vodafone who get two separate icons. So far I've tried the following: I've tried updating the firmware to the latest sticky at the top of this forum. Making sure Display New message indicator under General Options is set to yes Battery pull. I still get a red star over the SMS icon in the menu, but just no notification. In my themes menu I have Precision Zen and Precision Orange. Both have the same issue.
