BB Bold :: Email Account Icons Disappeared From It
Feb 20, 2012
Problem: My 3 email account icons disappeared on the phone First happened last week I believe on 2/14 and again this morning. The 3 accounts are a BlackBerry, Hotmail and a company account (Outlook) with Microsoft Exchange I was able to get the BlackBerry and the Hotmail account to work again by entering the passwords but not the Outlook account, the error message is: [URL] password is invalid. Please try again Last night I was able to get my Outlook email account to work again however I lost it again this morning with same error message, p.s. also lost the other 2 accounts this morning but got them going again easily.
Techno help needed again! Can some body please explain; why the small icons (pictures) for my email accounts keep disappearing and re-appearing whenever they choose? More importantly how do I stop them disappearing again?
At some point today my email icons/accounts disappeared off my phone and I didn't delete them. So after looking for them an not finding them I went in to my email set up and set them up again, but then my husband just experienced the same problem, why this is happening?
I have BIS and a couple of email accounts. I've used this device for years now. This morning all POP email icons disappeared except my Gmail account. How do I get them back?
I got a new bold 9900 2 days ago, all was going well, but when I open an email, I don't see the options create, send, forward reply etc, I have to go via the blackberry button?
Is there a way to have multiple message icons pointing at the same email account just each one setup to view different folders within my account? I filter some emails to alternate folders to make is easier in outlook but would like separate message icons on my BB home screen instead of having all message sent to my main message icon. So I don't have to view all the junk mail with my personal email.
I have two email accounts associated with my phone. Up until a few days ago, I had an icon for each account showing, so that I was able to click on either or and retrieve messages. Now for some reason the icons have disappeared. How do I get them back?
Is it possible that the email accounts we have configured would have their own icons like, Gmail would have its own icon same goes for yahoo and hotmail email, because right now all email accounts have same icons displayed. I have curve 8900 with updated OS 5.0.0.681.
I installed some of the BB upgrades today and now all my icons at the top of my screen have disappeared. If I take out my battery and restart my phone they appear and after awhile they disappear. I am referring to the signal, battery time icons at top of the screen.
Icons at the top of home screen, battery life and coverage bar have disappeared. How do I get them back?as well as wi-fi network name. They are all gone. I am not sure how that happened and I can not find a way to get them back.
I think about 90% of my contacts in my address book on my Tour had all of a sudden disappeared. Yes, I didn't do anything and it's gone! Well this is what happened. I added a new email account to my BB and it was "activating" the email account. There was also a new icon that showed up while "activating". After about 20 minutes it's done "activating" and the icon was gone. So I thought everything was fine and dandy. The next day, I was told that my windows live account kept on signing in and out on it's own every few minutes. I made a call using speed key and there was no name for the number (the call did go through though). So I went to my address book and saw that 90% of my contacts had disappeared. That's what happened. I did not do a back up before I added a new email account to BB.
I had my yahoo email account set up on my BB Bold 9930, with it's own icon. Suddenly, it is gone. I do have a separate email account on an enterprise server. Both were running fine for months.
1. I tried going to my email>options>email account management>set up email account
The account is now listed as existing, but the emails (or icon) are not showing anywhere on my BB. Emails are not showing up in the main email inbox.I also marked SHOW ALL ICONS and also looked in all folders for a separate Yahoo icon like I had before. Nothing.
2. I tried downloading a Yahoo mail app
I cannot find any that do not give me a "app not compatible with BB 9930"
I have activated three email account on my Blackberry 9900 (two outlook accounts and one yahoo account).I have activated one of the Outlook Email account via enterprise activation BES service on my Blackberry 9900.Another Outlook account have been synchronized from my Blackberry desktop manager.Yahoo account is configured with BIS service activation. When I go the Email Account management only the Accounts activated via BES and BIS service from device are visible but not the account synced from desktop.
I just bought a new bold 9700 to use, instead of my bold 9000. With blackberry desktop manager is used the device switch wizard to transfer everything to my 9700. However when it was done, my email icons were gone. I can only read my emails with the "messages" icon, but not my different email adresses appart. Does anyone know how i can fix this?
I am having issue with my emails account and had deleted all my email account off of my blackberry.I had since to figure out how to delete the current email icons on my Blackberry.
I recently upgraded then downgraded os's and now my email icons are all plain. Usually aol or yahoo icons would show. Also, my 2 gmail account icons I cant seem to get into. I click on them and it just freezes. What am I doing wrong. Even my blackberry messenger contact pictures look blank.
Won't bore you with all the details, but I am now on my second Bold in four days, and the email icons for the accounts I have set up are not populating. I'm referring to the branded icons, not the generic BB envelope/globe icons. I've sent service books and done battery pulls. Has anyone else ever had this problem upon initial set up? I have now experienced the same issue with two different devices.
I am trying to delete my email address and icons from my blackberry bold 9780. the reason for this is that i have purchased a new blackberry bold 9790 and i am sending my old bold back to Vodaphone as a trade in,they have asked me to remove all personel infomation, this i have done apart from my two email addresses and icons.
I just got a Blackberry Bold 9900 yesterday. During the process of trying to set up my outlook email on my phone I accidentally selected setup "Enterprise Email Account" instead of "set up another email account". Now when I go into the setup options and select email accounts it takes me back to the Enterprise setup automatically. I can't find a way to exit that setup and begin the "set up another email" procedure I have tried turning the phone off/on, removing the battery but still automatically takes me to the Enterprise email account setup/login.
Anyone knows if we can still do this with OS5? specifically with .545 with filescout? We used to be able to have gmail icon for our gmail box, yahoo icon for our yahoo boxes, etc. Anyone knows how we can do this in OS5.0.0.545? Or we hv do fix this via custom themes?
I have the new 9700, its two months old and its a really great phone-brand new btw. but there is no e-mail icons for the aol folder and the yahoo folder? is it missing? i sent the service books-but that didnt work.
I have a strange issue on my BlackBerry 9700 Bold, which I got on Orange UK. For some reason my E-mail and SMS Notifications are stacking under the same icon. So for example if I have 3 e-mails and 1 text it shows 4 as the e-mail Notification icon. I have friends on Vodafone who get two separate icons. So far I've tried the following: I've tried updating the firmware to the latest sticky at the top of this forum. Making sure Display New message indicator under General Options is set to yes Battery pull. I still get a red star over the SMS icon in the menu, but just no notification. In my themes menu I have Precision Zen and Precision Orange. Both have the same issue.
I just downloaded the hero theme and it shows a mailbox for the email accounts.I pushed hide on one of the email accounts, and now it is showing a different icon than the "original" mailbox. How do I get it back to showing both mailboxes for my email accounts for the icons.
I have 4 individual email accounts on my blackberry bold 9650, all 4 accounts show up under one email Icon on the phone, they used to be under separate icons, before I changed batteries. How can I get three mails under separate icons.
The Email and Text message icons on my Bold are unresponsive when I press either the keypad to access or use the touch screen. All the other icons are fine.
I hope someone can help because I'm losing the will to live over this one!

I bought a SIM free BB 9700 to use with my 02 SIM card. I applied the unlimited BB tariff and proceeded to set up four email accounts into the device which are all for my small business. I waited to do this until I knew the O2 bolt on had been applied correctly.I set the accounts up via the BIS server website which sent them down to the device; seemingly correctly.
I received email correctly for that day and could send as well with everything syncing with my IMAP servers and Outlook.Next morning - no email delivered to the device and I was unsuccessful in sending emails as well from the device to addresses.I tried to send down the service books - I sent them but no change.I got my four email accounts working again correctly but had to delete the accounts from BIS and recreate.I could then receive email correctly for the rest of the day and could send as well with everything syncing with my IMAP servers and Outlook.
Next morning the same thing happened - no email delivered to the device and I was unsuccessful in sending emails as well from the device to addresses.I then did a complete device wipe. When the device rebooted it seemed to synchronise with the BIS and then my accounts worked again for the remainder of the day. This morning - the same thing happened - no email delivered to the device and I was unsuccessful in sending emails as well from the device to addresses.
I have now created my @o2email address and applied my long standing @hotmail.co.uk address to the 9700 and they work fine - at the moment (we'll see about tomorrow!) to see if they fail as well.I have sent test mails today from the @O2 account and hotmail to each other and also to my main small business account from my BB. The @O2 and Hotmail emails arrive both on the device and (hotmail) on outlook and the main business account arrives on outlook BUT the main business account email does NOT arrive on the device.
I cannot seemingly send anything from my business addresses anywhere (from the device) with the only outgoing addresses that work being the @O2 and @hotmail accounts on the BB - unless I do a device wipe or delete the accounts and recreate.Emails sent from the BB from either @O2 or @hotmail arrive on the BB but not anything sent to the work accounts sent from @O2 or @hotmail from the BB - although the emails sent to the work addresses WILL appear on my outlook...
Speaking to O2 has been tough and they are blaming the server people who host my small business domain and such, although I think it is more than that though I could be wrong. My server people insist it isn't their end, saying they can see from the logs that RIM seems to stop checking for emails at times they detailed when the device stopped receiving emails from one day to the next.
Last week I noticed that all my emails before Nov 28th have disappeared? In addition all the text messages before that date appear with only the persons number and a green "draft" message icon. If I access it the original text is not there it is simply blank as if it were a draft message waiting to be sent.
I have a 9700 (v6.0.0546, Platform 6.6.0.207). My carrier is Vodafone. Mail settings have been checked and messages are set to store "forever".
