Does anyone have some advice about deleting unnecessary files and folders left on the SD card after GB to ICS upgrade? There are files and folders dating back to 1979 - which sounds ridiculous, of course, but they may be current.
View 2 RepliesI have over 150 photos in the Pictures Folder on my Blackberry Torch 9800 and after importing them to my PC, I want to delete them from my BB to regain space and memory.. I can delete these photos one by one following directions in the Guide but it does not make sense to repeat this step 150 times and there must be a quicker way to go about it.
What I want to do is to delete the entire contents of that Pictures Folder in one step. I have looked into the BB Torch User Guide Ver 6.0 and in Help for the BB Desktop Software and have not found any directions on deleting entire folders or multiple files in a folder in one step.
I have 8 applications on my Nokia N97 Mini that I cannot delete.When I click on them the file just flashes, and when i try to delete them the phone says it cant as they are a "corrupted file".I tried, soft reset, hard reset (factory reset) and it doesn't help, the files are still there!All I can do with them is move them around different folders.Also when using application manager it doesn't find them, so I cant even delete using that!Please can someone help?

Every time I put all of my music onto it then put it in my phone, it wipes all my music files off straight away. I checked if they were hidden by putting my SD Card back into the computer but they are actually getting deleted. I have tried some basic things (formatting the card, power on and off, etc) but I'm not having much luck.

But I could not find a solution. On windows I can copy files on the micro sd card and delete - but as soon as I insert the card in the phone, everything is in the old condition. I use a Curve 8310 as my work BB (through an enterprise server) and recently acquired a Bold 9700 for my personal email accounts. I used the "Switch Device" option on my BB Desktop Manager, to trasfer contacts from my work BB to the 9700. All this was a breeze. Unfortunately what this also did was transfer my work email folders (all archive folders) on to the 9700. So in the email application on the 9700, if I select "View Folder" from the menu key, I see a whole bunch of archive folders. I have no use for these folders on the 9700 but cannot find a way to delete them.Is there a way that I can delete all these redundant email archive folders from the 9700?

They have most likely NOT been removed as the SD-card was not suposed to be affected by the reset of the phone. Also I do find the apps and the files when connected to Pc. I found out that this problem does not happen on my friend's Z3 running Android 4.4.4. The only solution for me now is to restart my phone every 5 mins.

I bought a new xperia x8 few days a go. But i am having an issue with the built in memory card of the phone.When I tried to copy some music tracks to the sd card,about 75% of the tracks are corrupted after copying.I have tried with differnt mp3 files and most of them are not played after copied to the SD card.I believe this is a problem in the SD card,not in the phone. Will the poblem solve if i format the SD card?But there are some predefined folders inside the SD card and some of them are related with different applications of andriod OS. Is it ok to take a copy of this folders and paste it later In case, if i formatted the SD card?

So, I thought I would get a bigger card and bought a 16GB microSD card as I would like to put more games and alot of my music on it as well
How would I go about transferring or copying all the files that are on the 8GB card to my 16GB card without losing any downloaded data i.e large game files and game saves? CAN THIS BE DONE? As I am new to Android, any step by step advice would be great by the way!
One thing I did try was copying all the data on the 8GB card to a folder on my PC (whilst enabling the 'view all hidden files and folders' option in XP) and copied the folder contents to the new 16GB card (pre formatted to FAT32). I put the new card in the phone but cannot access the games without having to re-download the GBs of data needed and all my games progress has disappeared along with a few games and some needed game data. e.g NFS Hot Pursuit starts but will not play!
