why can't i transfer avi files to my SD card. the media go software says that my SD card has no enough memory. the file im transferring is 100mb only while the available space is 400mb.

I have had a 64GB SD card in my Galaxy S5 for a while. Of course the capacity is actually 59GB and I have just about 56GB of files(music,pics,videos,etc.) I was recently gifted a 128 GB SD card that I've been wanting. Now,the problem is transferring all my stuff from old SD card to new one. Back when I had smaller cards from 4 even to 32GB,I could back it up to my PC hard drive. I check and I have a lot o free memory. With SD card are not any problems. Same problem with PC transfer. I was thinking that I would put the old SD card in the phone, move the pictures (or as many as I could at one time) to the internal memory, mount the new SD card and move them to it. I cannot find a way to do this. Is there an app that I can download that will facilitate this? I also tried downloading the Admiral software for my PC, and it installed, but it will not work when I try to use it.

I am currently using my old 2 gb sd card and want to get a 16 gb card, but can't figure out how to transfer my music files that I downloaded from Amazon MP3 cloud to my phone. It appears they are stored on internal storage, which I suppose is ok for now, but when I get a new card I want to store them on my larger 16 gb card. Today I got the phone and have been transferring stuff of my own e.g. photos, mp3s etc using windows explorer. When I transfer them to a new folder on the memory card I get weird garbled looking files as well appearing in the folder.
I have tried: Formatting the memory card. Deleting the folder (which I have to do by switching the phone of and back on first as it says it cant delete as there are files in). Adding a new folder same thing happens. I can upload a picture if it helps.
I've been having problems with my phone recently, it doesn't recieve some text messages or show my missed calls. A friend suggested that it may just need updating, which made sense because I'd been getting update notifications, just hadn't got round to hooking my ohone up to my laptop. So I did just that and installed the 'companion' but when I try to update, it's asking me to insert a memory card. I've never taken it out! Not once. So i've turned the phone off and on again, as you do.
