just purchased this phone.i wish to put a new memory card in it,but seem unable to transfer files from card to memory so that i can put them back on new card when i've inserted it...easy on ericsson not so on this...or am i being stupid?

The problem is whenever I select option Refresh Library, the device is unable to load new music files which I have transferred to memory card using PC suite. Music player is unable to load music files which are stored in memory card. I even updated the phone software but unable to solve this problem, but other files such as videos and images. I am able to see in gallery. Only problem is with the music files.....

View 7 Replies View RelatedLooking for some advice I just started using W995 it was my husbands and he has had no problems. Today I got the phone and have been transferring stuff of my own e.g. photos, mp3s etc using windows explorer. When I transfer them to a new folder on the memory card I get weird garbled looking files as well appearing in the folder.
I have tried: Formatting the memory card. Deleting the folder (which I have to do by switching the phone of and back on first as it says it cant delete as there are files in). Adding a new folder same thing happens. I can upload a picture if it helps.
The problem is that when I try and transfer music to my 32gb microSD card on my HTC Desire S, the music appears to delete itself. I connect it, drag and drop in the normal way and it copies normally. I then disconnect the phone and when I try to play the music it isnt on the menu on my phone. I reconnect the phone and the music is not there when I browse to my computer. Have tried 2 separate memory cards, and in 2 different HTC phones and still get the same problem.

Having great fun in doing so but not always given the option of where to save them to with the end result that they are saving to the phone memory which keeps filling up and then giving me an error message. Can anyone please tell me how to move apps from the phone memory to the card memory. And can anyone also tell me if I have an icon on the 'Menu' screen and the 'Apps' screen, does this mean the application has been downloaded twice and do I need both or can I delete one (presumably the 'Menu' one)?

Basically, my memory card is only showing a very small number of files and the rest I cannot access. Phone is N73 that caused this. Memory card is Mini SD.Ive used data cable and is still the case on the laptop, also tried memory card reader. Still exactly the same only showing small number of actual files. I can see the folder names however it says empty. But in properties it still recognizes the fact that that 1.9GB is used of 2.0GB. However I can only access about 100MB of those files.
I was trying to back up my memory card (5800XM) via Windows XP - copying/pasting - and several corrupt files were thrown up.e.g "22%.dat" in the Private....CacheE folder, a file for Opera Mini DS folder Even when I deleted 22%.dat from the phone, it was miraculously resurrected as soon as I tried to copy over again. Do I have to reformat the card & reinstall Ovi Maps, music / image files, Apps again ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to move a few files around on my memory card whilst the phone is plugged into my pc. There is over a gb of free space on the memory card. I get error: "The selected files could not be copied there is not enough free space on the device".
- I'm moving files, not copying so it shouldn't need any free space.
- Even if it did need free space there is more than enough available on the card.
How can I move files around?
My Nokia 5800 memory card sometimes goes rogue and i cant access my music player and says my files are corrupted. The problem is i can view my images and i can access the music via file manager.

When going to file manager, seems it doesnt find memory card, even it is inserted.Then when removing memory card, phone works normally and not slow, fast. I check and I have a lot o free memory. With SD card are not any problems. Same problem with PC transfer. View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a 1GB SD card that was full so I swapped in a 16GB memory card. The old SD card files show on my PC but I cannot get the PC to see the new SD card. I was thinking that I would put the old SD card in the phone, move the pictures (or as many as I could at one time) to the internal memory, mount the new SD card and move them to it. I cannot find a way to do this. Is there an app that I can download that will facilitate this? I also tried downloading the Admiral software for my PC, and it installed, but it will not work when I try to use it.
