Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: No Backup Files And SD Card Blank?
Dec 18, 2010
I failed to upgrade to 2.1 and since then i have lost all emails, unable to reset my account. In addition i am unable to do manual back up as it says no backup files found and SD card blank.I put the sd card into my laptop and there are files on there.
i have had my sony ericsson xperia 10 mini pro for nearly 2 months now, recently though i cannot play any music or use the camera because it keeps saying please insert memory card even though there is a memory card in,which has been working fine up until now. I have tried everything but with no joy.
why can't i transfer avi files to my SD card. the media go software says that my SD card has no enough memory. the file im transferring is 100mb only while the available space is 400mb.
I recently bought an Xperia Mini Pro. I have one issue with this phone...The memory card that comes with the phone is almost three-quarter filled.....so I am not able to transfer most of my songs and pictures to it...I am thinking of buying a new micro sdhc card....But I have some confusion...Should I go for a class 6 or a class 10? And what about transferring the files from my old card to the new one?? I have enough internal memory left....so I can easily transfer the apps present in my memory card to the internal storage...
If you have a Defect Tracking System, I can seriously take up the job of Ad-Hoc tester. The first time I tried the Backup, I was connected to PC companion ( I was going to perform a repair, I wanted to back up first)Turns out that Backup doesn't see the memory card if the phone is connected through USB.
1- It should at least improve the error message and indicate that Backup operation can't be performed while connected via USB.
2- Why can't it perform the backup while connected via USB in the first place? In fact it would be great to allow the back up to store the data in a directory in the PC via PC COMPANION.
there is a problem with my memory card so i was told to copy everything on to a computer and format it , then restore it. when i select to copy everything and paste it in my documents i get an error "cannot copy file. cannot read from the source file or disk". when i untick the box "read only" in the "sys" folder i get a lot of files that wont change.
My 'backup and restore' app won't back up my text messages... it backs up the other things on the list for example the contacts, call logs, brower history etc. I would like to save the messages before I update my phone.Or unless there is another way of saving my messages, i.e. saving them onto a pc or something.I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro.
I want to copy files on my micro sd card and delete other files. I read a lot about the problems with the micro sd card after kitkat. I tried several things. But I could not find a solution. On windows I can copy files on the micro sd card and delete - but as soon as I insert the card in the phone, everything is in the old condition. Any way, how I can easy change files on my micro sd with Lollipop 5.1.
I have a Sony Xperia X10 mini and it was working fine up until an hour ago. I went to listen to some music and no sound came on, went to see if there was any sound when trying to call anyone and there wasn't. it wouldnt turn off so I removed the sim card and memory card, put them back in and now pretty much all of the screen is black, (the only bit that isn't is the strip at the top where the time is displayed), the phone also now wont do anything, wont turn off wont even lock.I have just downloaded the sony pc companion to try and see if an update would fix it, but it wont connect to the phone. Asks me to tap the "USB connect" but as the phone wont do anything I can't so it won't connect.
i have tried reformating the card which didnt seam to work so i formated it useing my old samsung diva but still the xperia shows the error message. My software is up to date firmware version 2.1 update 1. i even tried a brand new sd card but that came up with the same message as well. the sd card setting is as follows for both the new sd card and old one.
total space unavilable available space unavilable unmount sd card (grayed out)
format sd card (doesnt seam to complete the format)I dont know what less to try and i really need my sd card working as am due to have my baby on 19th march and want to be able to take photos?
How can I make my home screen blank, that is, it should only show the wallpaper and no widgets?
Reason being, I found a cool live wallpaper "analogy clock live wallpaper" which serves purpose of a analog clock. And obviously I do not want any widget to cover this LWP.
Issue is that the phone will get in a mode sometimes where it just continues to reboot. It gets to a point that I can use the phone, but within a few minutes, it crashes and boots up again. Usually pulling the battery fixes it, but not always. A similar issue is the screen going blank. Not sure it's crashed or just a video issue, but the only way to get it back on is to pull the batteryAlso, as the unit is stuck at 2.1 for ever, so can not use the memory card to install apps, and can't uninstall the old apps, is there a recommended minimum of available phone memory? That is, for example, always make sure you have at least 35MB. Any more than 50MB won't make a difference to performance or stability
I was just checking my emails and the screen suddenly went blank. I removed the battery and then turned the cellphone on again. It could turn on again, but some settings were gone (VPN settings and Mobile Networks). I did the "Settings Reset", but it didn't work, nothing happened.
I can't receive phone calls and or texts, nor can I go online thru my Mini pro. What's wrong with my cellphone?
I was loving the phone tll the screen started to freeze black during call. I tried all the buttons with no joy and the screen remained black after call. I had to remove the battery to reboot, this reset my time and date to 1980!
I've got to try using my phone for work today, old spare being repaired. I can't even hang up a call.
For the past two days my XPERIA Z2 has been constantly shutting down after just a minute or two of using the device. The message displayed says something along the lines of 'phone is about to shut down due to high temperature'.. I am aware that I will have to update my software, but before I do that I need to transfer precious data from my phone to my computer, which I cannot seem to do as the device shuts down the immediate moment the PC Companion recognizes it. I am losing my mind, I really don't want to lose my data, mostly my pictures, i.e personal memories.
How to solve this, i.e backup files before updating the software? There must be some way since the device DOES turn on, it just doesn't stay that way for a long time...
I've been having problems with my phone recently, it doesn't recieve some text messages or show my missed calls. A friend suggested that it may just need updating, which made sense because I'd been getting update notifications, just hadn't got round to hooking my ohone up to my laptop. So I did just that and installed the 'companion' but when I try to update, it's asking me to insert a memory card. I've never taken it out! Not once. So i've turned the phone off and on again, as you do.
I have searched long and hard for an answer to this - perhaps it is obvious to everyone else.I want to put a larger sd card in and X10 mini. Is this the correct way?
1 select sd card in settings on the X10 then select unmount sd card.2 take out the card with the phone still switched on since I can't remove the battery there is no obvious way to depower it
3 put card in my pc's card reader and copy its contents to a folder on the pc (using copy and paste?), I have seen some mention of hidden files - is there any trick here?
4 put the new sd card in the pc and copy the stored contents onto it
5 put the card into the X10
6 what now - how do I get the x10 to accept the new card?

The native backup solution of Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich, ICS) is not working on my setup.
On my windows command line: adb backup -apk -shared -all gives me the following in ddms (Dalvik Debug Monitor): 06-10 20:52:56.445: D/bu(3154): Beginning: 21 06-10 20:52:56.445: D/bu(3154): Finished.

Normally a phone with ICS should ask me to allow the backup process. But on my phone just nothing happens. Is this behavior "Unable to launch full backup confirmation" desired by Sony? What is the Sony way of doing a full backup of my phone?
I bought New Xperia Mini. It is quite good. but I am facing a problem regrding gallery. I can't access/find the icons or files in the gallery. It showing blank.
When I installed the software for the first time, it asked to me to delete PC Companion data from the memory card to save space, but I didn't. Now I need more space, but I can't find that 'feature' no more, I tried to unistall and reinstall the software but this time no message appeared. What should I do to remove those files?
I already made a backup of my contacts within the phone, but I want to export the complete list to my PC.- I used the "send all contacts" option, and could send the "sendAll.vcf" file to my mail, but when I tried opening it with Outlook, I could only see one contact which is the first on the list.I also tried syncronizing the contacts with my Gmail account but I cant find them there. Finally I copied the backup folder from the phone to my PC, but I dont know if I can restore it from there.
The Neo V handset has come along with 2 GB Micro sd card..I got a Transcend 16GB Micro SD Card Class 4 as part of a free offer and would like to add it to the phone.
