Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Using Backup And Restore Contacts Are Gone And Internet Not Working?
Apr 14, 2011i was wondering if anyone could help me to find my contacts! i used the backup function on my phone then reset the phone thinking i could restore my contacts! after resetting i went to restore and the percentage went up and said it had finished but still no contacts! call log restored though! i then tried to import the ones i had saved on my sim again it finishes loading but when i go into phonebook it comes up with the same screen saying, import sim contacts, sync and google sync. however when a sim contact txt me their name appeared! yet i cant get to them in my phonebook! also now my phone wont acsess the internet, i have enables data trafficing but it wont open the browser.what is going on! is there a simple solution i have missed?

Jan 1, 2012I already made a backup of my contacts within the phone, but I want to export the complete list to my PC.- I used the "send all contacts" option, and could send the "sendAll.vcf" file to my mail, but when I tried opening it with Outlook, I could only see one contact which is the first on the list.I also tried syncronizing the contacts with my Gmail account but I cant find them there.Finally I copied the backup folder from the phone to my PC, but I dont know if I can restore it from there.

Nov 14, 2010When I save contacts to the memory card I get a file named 00001.vcf. When I open this file in outlook it seems to contain only the first of all my contacts. Can I open this file in another way to get all my contacts? Is it possible to import all my contacts to Pc Companion? When I syncronize the phone with this program I only get the bookmarks exported from the phone to the program. No contact is exported. I have already lost my contacts once and will be sure that I have saved them correctly.

Jan 3, 2011I took a backup of my contacts before upgrading from1.6 and I was able to restore it to 2.1 but there was a recent update which I did. Now I am not able to restore the the Contacts. Others like call log & Messages are getting restored. I have 187 contacts which the backup shows. Can you assist on how to restore it.

Oct 28, 2010I had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]

Dec 7, 2011My 'backup and restore' app won't back up my text messages... it backs up the other things on the list for example the contacts, call logs, brower history etc. I would like to save the messages before I update my phone.Or unless there is another way of saving my messages, i.e. saving them onto a pc or something.I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro.

The native backup solution of Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich, ICS) is not working on my setup.
On my windows command line:
adb backup -apk -shared -all

Normally a phone with ICS should ask me to allow the backup process. But on my phone just nothing happens.Is this behavior "Unable to launch full backup confirmation" desired by Sony?What is the Sony way of doing a full backup of my phone?

I can search for names in messaging and everyone from my phone contacts, to my facebook friends and even Fearne cotton from twitter is there! May 25, 2011If you have a Defect Tracking System, I can seriously take up the job of Ad-Hoc tester.The first time I tried the Backup, I was connected to PC companion ( I was going to perform a repair, I wanted to back up first)Turns out that Backup doesn't see the memory card if the phone is connected through USB.
1- It should at least improve the error message and indicate that Backup operation can't be performed while connected via USB.
2- Why can't it perform the backup while connected via USB in the first place? In fact it would be great to allow the back up to store the data in a directory in the PC via PC COMPANION.

Jan 11, 2012I have just bought my Xperia Mini Pro and I have not been able to establish an internet connection through WiFi. It will start and there is a connection, but no data are collected. Internet does not work, or, I must end WiFi, re-open it, then I have internet for maybe 20 seconds, then internet disappears although the WiFi connection exists. I have downloaded WiFi Analyzer and that says I am connected. I have downloaded WiFi Fixer, that ends the WiFi connection and reassociates, then I can connect to the internet for some seconds, and again it is gone. I have read many complaints about the poor WiFi connection these last days, as I am searching the internet to find a solution. Can anyone please help me? Does anyone know how to solve this? I have a HTC Legend that connects just fine with WiFi, no problems at all. If this persists, I have no alternative but to take the phone back.
