Jul 6, 2010I have many troubles with updating my n97 (Product code 0576503) from v21 to v22.i have try Ovi Suite v2.2.0.241 but after preparing to install i got message ( installation failed - the connection to device was lost.....)
and in NSU v2.5.2 i got (no software available for your device - Please not that your mobile service provider, operator or carrier may not have approved the latest nokia device firmware available........)And on FOTA after downloading and restarting i got (This update is not compatible with your device)

Jun 3, 2010I own a nokia 5800 on t-mobile UK. I'm on a mac so cannot use the device update software. I entered *#0000# and tried to update it. However I got asked to create a new server profile. I read some 'default' nokia server settings on another forum and entered them but received a message saying server not responding. I've tried some other server settings I found but none of it works. I really would like to update it!

Mar 12, 2010I have Nokia 5800 phone, whose firmware I want to update to v40. But the latest NSU is not able to identify my phone. Whereas PC Suite and Ovi Suite will readily identify my phone. Ovi Suite' Software Update is able to detect it's firmware '30.0.011' whereas NSU cannot identify the phone itself. Product code of my phone is 0575590 and I want to update it to v40.

Jun 27, 2010I have been reciving texts and popups telling me to update my phone, so I tryed to on the sute, it confermed there was an update available, it started to update then about half way windows (xp) started to try to install drivers and the x6 was dissconected and would reconect, I then researched the problem and found the same thimg had happened to other people on the nokia boards, however using windows 7,the advice was to dissable auto driver instalations.
I then, in system properties, hardware, under the driver heading selected windoesupdate and selected never search windoes for driver updates. i'm not sure if this is the correct thing to have done but was the only thing that came to mind that may stop it. Restarted pc and tryed updating my phone agane, now it thinks it has the update but it dident finish, so I selected renstall the update and the same thing happened but now no windows driver popups it just dissconnects and i get the same error message.I have hard restarted the phone in the hope it will wipe the part update so I can then use the 0000 to update it on the hand set, but to no luck, it is desplaying the recent firmware number and there is no option to reinstall from the hand set just to update it.

May 23, 2010Just updated from Ovi Maps 3.03 to 3.04 and my E55 device memory went down by 10Mb. Why is this? It's an update! The size of the installers differs by only 500kb.Every time I update the maps app, my device memory just shrinks away until I have to reset the phone to reclaim the memory.Do the updates actually replace the old files or just add bloat?Also had to re-download and re-install all maps and voice guidence (to SD memory) after the upgrade.

i use windows 7 ultimatie 64 bit, installed the ovi suite and the nokia software updater.
then why i try to update the device software it says the phone is not connected, when i then reconnect the phone i can press continue but immediatly after that its says its not connected again. even though the ovi store has it still connected and i can browse the phone from the pc aswell.. I tried different usb ports, i tried it on an win xp machine ( with same results ).
Currently my n97 had software version 1.2 i believe, when i use the phone itself to update it says no updates available.. i dont know whats wrong, because other then the update everything works normal.

Mar 23, 2010I just bought a brand new E72 and am wondering why there is no current firmware available for this device. I just checked at the Nokia website "Can I update my Nokia device software" which says that there is no software available for this device. This is the same answer you get when entering an invalid product code, meaning that there is not even the SW revision displayed which is currently installed (021.024).
I called Nokia in Germany and they also were not able to tell me why for this PC no FW is available.Does anybody have an idea why for this product code there is no current FW available (I have seen that there is 23.002 or at least 22.007 available for every device).Does Nokia also sell "second quality" devices where no FW update is possible. The lack of knowledge and communication even when talking to Nokia directly makes me wonder.

I'm not alone a number of other users with same product code reporting this issue with same product code:Lumia 800 Update Thread (Bottom of page 14 and 15)It's a non-carrier varient (Sim free) so no operator to approve update.Nokias own website lists the update as available for this product code in the UK:Nokia Lumia Update Page But still unable to download for a long while now - This update has been out ages. No luck with e-mail support - They keep saying it depends on country/product code (Which I checked on the website!) and send stock replies which is frustrating. Please can we get a proper response on this or someone to check it out/diagnose the problem.I'm stuck on 1600.2475.7720.11414 and Nokias website says 1600.2487.8107.12070 should be available for my device. So I don't think the issue is hardware.Plus it was all fine before the device update.

Feb 9, 2010I seem to always have this problem. Even with my Nokia N97 I can't seem to update AT ALL. It always keeps telling me that it has lost connection with my PC. I tried it in 2 different ones, same result. I follow the remove battery instructions but it still doesn't update. And I just installed Ovi Suite on this computer too.
Does anyone have a solution to this at all?

May 20, 2010I'm having a problem when trying to update my Nokia 5230 using the Nokia Suite.Please note; my phone is plugged in, there is an update for my phone as the last time it was updated was when it made manufactured (nov 09). The USB mode is on 'PC suite'. I have downloaded all the latest versions of the Nokia Suite.
When I click 'Update Phone Software", it takes me to the updater. When it comes to the 'Searching for a connected device', it hands for about 1-2 minutes, then says "Unable to find device".

Feb 20, 2010Ok, I've got an early model 3GS serial from week 23.I originally jailbroke it using purplera1n on its original 3.0 firmware. I didn't bother doing any of the updates since then, since everything was working pretty well. As a precaution I have stored my hashed keys with Cydia.
Now there are starting to be newer apps that require firmware 3.1 so I figured I would update.I've read through a few tutorials and it isn't 100% clear what update path I should go. I have tried Pwnage tool on my Macbook and it doesn't seem to detect my phone to put into DFU mode. I have a few questions hopefully someone here can answer:
1) Should I even be using Pwnage tool? Or should I be using blackra1n? Does it matter?
2) With Pwnage tool, when it asks if my phone has been 'pwned' before, should I answer yes or no? When I answer no, it doesn't detect my phone. When I answer yes, it tells me to put the phone into DFU mode myself and reestore using iTunes. Is this safe to do?

Jan 12, 2011The other day my phone was scrolling in the wrong direction so I took the battery out and put it back in, the phone showed the BlackBerry sign and the progress bar it got just over the half way mark & stopped, I left it like that for about 20minutes to no avail.I must have taken the battery out about 15-20 times and it still didn't get any further, I called T-Mobile they said to take my phone into a shop.Well I plugged my phone into my laptop and it switched on after a while, I updated the software on my laptop & then my phone. It deleted my messages, numbers, emails, bbm, facebook & BlackBerry aps. It also stopped me receiving MMS messages & I was unable to view Excel spreadsheets ( I have fixed the Excel issue via Desktop Software installing the app). It also has changed my sms messages back to the old settings (Not the bubble like) & the keyboard lock is no longer the mute key on the top of the phone.I've plugged my phone in again and it says I already have the latest updates. (Which clearly I do not).The version on my handset says: V4.6.1.314 (Platform V4.2.0.135 i tried to update from the T-Mobile local site via the BlackBerry carrier but I do not know the log in details.

Motorola Motoactv :: Device Will Not Update
Jul 12, 2012I plugged in the Moto and discovered that there was a device update. In light of problems I was having (described in a separate thread) I did not have time to let it run. Decided to do so in the evening, but was unprepared for the rigamarole I encountered. The device would not update until I updated Motocast, which took FOREVER. And after all of that, the Motoactv won't even update. The device manager box tells me that my Motoactv is running the most current software version and that that version is N/A. 0 for 2; my device is not running the current version and the version it is running is 1.7.2 N8, not N/A. That is not the version number I saw this morning when Motocast informed me that there was an update available.

Do you think/know if it is possible to activate my data plan for, lets say, a month, install the new version, and then deactivate de data plan and keep using the v5.0 with no problems?
