I seem to always have this problem. Even with my Nokia N97 I can't seem to update AT ALL. It always keeps telling me that it has lost connection with my PC. I tried it in 2 different ones, same result. I follow the remove battery instructions but it still doesn't update. And I just installed Ovi Suite on this computer too.
Does anyone have a solution to this at all?
I have been reciving texts and popups telling me to update my phone, so I tryed to on the sute, it confermed there was an update available, it started to update then about half way windows (xp) started to try to install drivers and the x6 was dissconected and would reconect, I then researched the problem and found the same thimg had happened to other people on the nokia boards, however using windows 7,the advice was to dissable auto driver instalations.
I then, in system properties, hardware, under the driver heading selected windoesupdate and selected never search windoes for driver updates. i'm not sure if this is the correct thing to have done but was the only thing that came to mind that may stop it. Restarted pc and tryed updating my phone agane, now it thinks it has the update but it dident finish, so I selected renstall the update and the same thing happened but now no windows driver popups it just dissconnects and i get the same error message.I have hard restarted the phone in the hope it will wipe the part update so I can then use the 0000 to update it on the hand set, but to no luck, it is desplaying the recent firmware number and there is no option to reinstall from the hand set just to update it.
I've problem after downgrading my lumia 1320 from wp 8.1 dp to wp.8.0
The downgrade went successfully but Nokia Software Recovery tool doesn't read my phone anymore... I am running windows 8.1 as in the picture ....
I've been trying without success to install the new firmware update. I've tried re-installing using the Nokia Software Updater, but kept getting Device Recovery errors and the phone turned off and lost its connection. After reading other posts, I did a soft reset on my phone then re-installed the firmware without anymore However, now the phone WON'T TURN ON AT ALL! When I press and hold the Power On/Off button on the top, it makes a buzzing sound, but the screen stays dark and doesn't turn on. Before you ask, the phone battery was fully charged. My 58000 is totally unusuable. How do I get it to power on?

The Software Updater for Retail says the exact same thing too.
How to rectify this? Or if not, any ETA on when the Cyan update can be expected to be available for Dev Preview users? I have a 930 as my daily driver now but, as an amateur photographer and filmmaker the 1020 is still a highly useful device for me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a friend's iPhone after he seemingly bricked it by using blackra1n and then wanting to unlock it so he used blacksno and then he said he got something called buetbunueter and he thinks he hit a wrong button and screwed it all up.
I started off by trying a simple restore of the iPhone as that is basically the only thing that will come up consistently. Unfortunately I get error 23 and the phone cannot be restored. I've tried 1.1.2, 3.1.2, and a custom 3.1.2 from Pwnage.
I then went into DFU mode and tried all 3 firmwares again, but this time I got error 1600. So, yet another failure.
I've tried iRecovery and that doesn't seem to help and I've tried using blackra1n again but it just seems to hang on the logo when it is supposed to be rebooting.
Anyone have any ideas or tips, I've been googling for about 2 hours and have seem way too many blogs.
Am trying to update my bb but when the module is been download, it always stop on the way. The report is "An error has occur when dowloading software for your device.lease, check your internet connection or try later, if the problem persist". I have a very good working internet connection. I have tried everything posible but still having the same. The whole module to download is 821 and the module already downloaded is 710.

I forgot my recovery password but have my Apple ID and trusted iphone device. I cannot receive SMS because I am out of my home country currently and have another number. Is there another option until I return?  Â
During the two-step login process, if I click to send an sms to my phone number (the one from my home country), I am prompted to enter the 4 digits code. I can click an option saying that I didn't receive it and it states that it's possible to use it with find my device. I can't figure out how to do that, if possible. After setting up my Lumia 950 XL I decided to reset it. Apparently when I added my work account, the settings mandated BitLocker be turned on. So now when I try to start the phone it goes to a BitLocker screen and won't go past. I saw online that I should be able to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool to fix this but I get a message saying the package isn't available yet for it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed Nokia OVI Suite version 2.2.0.245 and attempted to sync my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic device but I'm having various problems getting the OVI Suite to recognize my device. For the most part, when the program will come up with a message saying "Please change the USB mode on your device to OVI Suite (or PC Suite) USB Mode". Now, I'm already in PC Suite mode but I still disconnect the USB cable and connect it again, selecting the PC Suite mode again on my device. This does not change anything as I still get the same error message. When I don't get this error message, and I try to sync my messages (for example), the application crashes. I'm running windows Vista SP2, and my Nokia 5800 has the latest firmware installed V 31.2.101 (installed today July 7th, 2010) I don't know if this is a known issue and anybody knows how to fix it. if not, I hope the folks at Nokia take note and consider this issue.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is strange. I'm running the latest Technical Preview of W10M on my Lumia 1520, and have decided I want to revert to WP8.1.
I believe the way to do this is to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool, currently at V3.1.5.
The WDRT installs just fine. When I run it and plug in my phone, it correctly identifies it as a Lumia 1520, and my phone correctly asks permission to let its USB port be used (which I OK, of course).
WDRT says "Please select device to continue" and I click on the picture of the Lumia 1520. At that point it goes to the "Reading device information" page and just sits there forever, showing the spinning circle and "Please wait".
I was updating my software on my curve 9360 and it got to 10% on the overall backup and 0% on social feeds and has been like that for about 5 hours. So, I connected my phone to my laptop and tried updating it that way, but it kept telling me there was an error connecting with the device. I really need to use my phone and I'm not too worried about updating it anymore, just as long as it goes back to normal so that I can phone, text and bbm once again. I have had my phone for about a year now, and I would be so upset if it was broken!

I installed Nokia Chat from Ovi store on my phone. When I start the chat, I am shown an option "Get the latest IM service"
When I click this option, I see "Checking for new IM updates" .It keeps checking for updates for a min or so then I get a message 'Error: Unable to complete request. Try Again"
I have a proper wifi and so its not a connectivity issue. Previously I have used Nokia chat and I had all services(gtalk,yahoo etc) but recently I had to format the phone, so had to install chat again.
Can anyone help me with this issue ? How can I get this chat to work ? if there a newer version available which I can install directly rather than looking for services.
While updating to iOS 4 it just errored out with error 14. iTunes said I had to restore before moving on. So I did, when progress bar starts when updating iphone software it errors out all time on error 14. Tried all the solutions under Apple support different USB port, restarting computer, different 32 pin cable,different computer. Nothing works errors out on same error.
Looking into the debug log i do notice why it always crashes always see this come up: decompressData failed with error 1000. I dunno but I am starting to lean towards a hardware failure.
Any ideas?

is it possible to get my iphone 3g out of recovery mode,showing error 1015,i know this has been posted many times, but cant find a simplified solution if in fact one exists,had this phone passed on to me without the iphone being first restored my uncle cannot remember the 4 figure pass code so thought i would try through itunes like i did with an ipod touch that had the same issue but that was successful in restore back to factory settings etc so not sure how to overcome this problem.

The tool fails downloading the firmware file (.ffu) due to checksum error. It will retry and get stuck again at 100%.
