Nokia Nseries :: 5800 Memory Card Password Recovery?
Apr 18, 2011After a year of purchase, i now decided to reset my nokia 5800. I backed up every contact and messages on to my Memory card and after the reset Memory card asks for a password...Guys please help and plz do't give sugessions to format memory card as i have all the USEFUL data on it..By the way i only connect mobile to PC via USB cable i don't have a seperate CARD reader.

Feb 23, 2010Orange replaced my 5800 Music phone because it developed a fault. I stuck in the MicroSD card from my old phone which had all my music on it but the new phone won't play any tracks because the license is wrong.Do I need to redownload to my PC all the music I already have?Or can I delete all the tracks from my new 5800 and just copy from my PC to it and it will recognise the old tracks I downloaded for my old 5800? I can't just try it out because I'm away from home right now, I just want to know what I will need to do when I get back at the weekend.I really don't want to download all my music againg from Nokia because that site is so painful it's like sticking needles in your eyes.

May 13, 2010I've been trying without success to install the new firmware update. I've tried re-installing using the Nokia Software Updater, but kept getting Device Recovery errors and the phone turned off and lost its connection. After reading other posts, I did a soft reset on my phone then re-installed the firmware without anymore However, now the phone WON'T TURN ON AT ALL! When I press and hold the Power On/Off button on the top, it makes a buzzing sound, but the screen stays dark and doesn't turn on. Before you ask, the phone battery was fully charged. My 58000 is totally unusuable. How do I get it to power on?

May 17, 2010Since Ovi updated the maps I've had trouble using it. I have version 40 firmware which was installed by Vodafone when my device expired. Despite the update, Ovi maps just crashes the phone when I try to use it. The screen goes blank and I get all coloured lines flashing down one side and the phone reluctantly restarts.

Feb 10, 2015My wife’s HTC One M8 somehow messed up during her attempt to update to Lollipop. How to restore her phone if I provide enough detail about what happened/current state.
The sequence of events is as such. My wife bought her phone brand new in Budapest, Hungary while on her way to where we live now (New Caledonia, South Pacific). She had the phone unlocked there (at the store in Budapest) and it had worked splendidly here for six months. We never altered the phone in anyway – stock operating system, one or two minor OTA updates to get the phone to Android 4.4.2 and Sense to 5.0 or 6.0 (I think it was) but nothing like rooting or flashing another ROM. She was checking daily to see when Lollipop was available and, while I was away on duty travel unfortunately, it was suddenly there. She did the download, told the phone to go ahead and update and that was where things went completely south.
By the time she emailed me to tell me her phone no longer worked, she had tried several things such as Recovery and Factory reset, etc. If the phone is put into Recovery mode (from the Bootloader screen – the one with three android figures at the bottom) it just cycles non stop from the red triangle to white screens and back to the red triangle and the only thing you can do to then phone is press Volume up and Power button to get the “Android System Recovery” screen. I have tried to execute all five of commands on that screen – “apply from sd card”, “apply from phone storage” … “wipe cache partition” but the end result is always the same – just an endless red triangle to white screen non stop until the battery dies.
On the Android system Recovery screen, there is a consistent error message “Mount SDCARD failed 1 times” (and then … failed 2/3/4/5 times), followed by “Can not mount SD Card (No such file or directory). So, to recap, anything I try to do from the Bootloader screen leads to the Red Triangle/white screen cycling which can be interrupted ONLY by Volume Up/Power buttons (not by Volume Down/Power buttons) which gives the Android System Recovery screen and all of those options also lead to the Red Triangle/White screen loop. Also, and probably very importantly, it doesn’t seem that my computer can “see” the HTC when plugged in .. at least it doesn’t show up in the traditional way it used to when plugged in via USB cable.

Feb 17, 2016I tried to update my phone to the latest version. I hit install from the notification, my phone reboots goes into TWRP recovery.... does nothing, then I have to "reboot into system" and then the phone boots up like normal. Without updating to 6.0.1.

May 5, 2010I've just got a replacement Nokia 5800 from Vodafone today as the last 2 weeks its been sent in for repair may have seen my other post on it's problem, anyways they couldn't fix it gave me a replacement 5800. I was using a temp Nokia 1661 and I recieved a text from Nokia I believe saying a new firmware was out for my Nokia 5800.
Since I have only just got it back I just wanna know if it's worth updating currently I'm using FW V31. And apart from that new Music Library I dont think its really worth the update if thats all it mainly does.

May 1, 2010I have updated the firmware on my 5800 to version 31.0.101.I have tried to update Maps from version 3.01 to 3.03. Each time I try, the update fails.The on-air update fails without any detailed messages. The update via USB cable fails with an error message "unknown error code 5".Does anyone know what is wrong and how to resolve this problem?
