I have Blackberry 8520, the device software version is 4.6.1.314. I have tried update to v5.0. cannot do it, everytime it says my software is up to date. Well the Device software is not.
I have a Torch 9860, and just completed another backup using BlackBerry Protect. This is not my first backup, FYI.And the strange this is every time I login to protect.blackberry.com, my device is not shown.
I currently have the BB 8520 with 4.6 software, I've been doing to get the O.S 5 update following the 'Upgrade Guide'. I've tried deleting the vendor.xml file but still not luck it still keeps on saying it doesn't have "BlackBerry Device Software". I've tried to following things.
1. Searching my entire computer for another vendor.xml file
2. Re-installing both the upgrade and Desktop Manager
Still no luck, can anybody try and help me out? I've done some searching on the forum and found nothing.
My BB10 device is not recognizing any microSIM. I was working on a new project where I need an active SIM to talk. But my BB10 device is not at all detecting ny SIM. I have tried three microSIMs that are activated and are working perfectly fine on my iPhone handset. But not working on my BB10 device.

When connecting to a network via wifi the device reports its hostname as something like Blackberry-XXXX which is also the default bluetooth device name. How do I change the wifi network hostname to something else?
I have a BB Bold 9300 with a large number of photos I have taken over a period of time. When I look at the BB after connecting with my computer and using BB software I can only see 104 pictures. When I look directly at the BB and go to the "media" icon, there are many more photos. How can I transfer all the photos to my computer?
I have been using Blackberry protect and App world with this device but recently it sent me a mail to validate my ID credentials. The problem is that through the device I cannot validate as its returning error of invalid password / ID.I can log on with same password and ID on my desktop PC and recognises this device but it could not communicate with it. It started yesterday. BlackBerry ID not recognized via device
I cannot seem to register in Blackberry service of my network provider. I inquired about it with my network, the customer service people told me that everytime i register to pay per use blackberry service, different keyword is seen in their system.
am really hoping someone can help me to set up my email on my blackberry phone, I've gone through the setup wizard but when I get to the email section there is only the option to create a email account with a blackberry enterprise server and I believe there should be another option. I need a system restore to try to resolve this but to no avail,
I've changed a blackberry javelin 9800 since it was broken and my provider gave me a new device. I've used Desktop Manager in order to download phonebook and other settings, but I'm not able to access internet anymore. I'm not getting good support from the provider, consider that the switch between old and new device could not be done having both of them available at the same time, since by their policy I've taken the broken one to the customer center and they provided me the new one, without changing the configuration between the two.
I had a Blackberry Curve 8520 that was stolen yesterday. My service provider told me that they will only be able to shut down the line, nothing else. Is there a way to disable the phone? It would be nice if I could make sure no one can even turn it on, or at least make sure it can no longer be used on any service provider.
My Bold 9000 was stolen and I did not write down the IMEI number. In order to report the theft to the police, it would be very helpful to have the IMEI. Actually, I thought that this number was stored within the backups that I made (using the Desktop Manager). But I could not find anything like the IMEI number in the files.
Is there a chance to recover the IMEI from some log files? Where would I have to look?
Is it possible for RIM to recover the IMEI when I provide them with the PIN? I am a private customer, not a business customer, and did not operate the BB via BIS or BES.
I have the constant message of "unable to pair to audio device" constantly flash on my Bold 9780 when I connect the bluetooth in my car. The phone connects fine and I am able to make receive/calls, so I don't understand why I keep getting this message and how to get rid of it.
I updated my BB 9700 to v 5.0.0.545 (Platform 5.1.0.140)and subsequently pressing on the "mute" button no longer turns on/off "standby mode.I tried the mute button during a phone call and that works fine. So I don't think the issue is hardware.Plus it was all fine before the device update.
My wife just lost her BlackBerry 9750 Curve... It had the BB Protect app. I could track his location for a couple of hours and send a display message for return call.... but not answer... so I wiped it.Now, I'm not sure if the device is off, or the wipe procedure has already delete the Protect App...
Is it possible to restore bbm contact back up from my previous device? I have switched to Torch 9810 from Bold 2. I have backed up all bbm contacts wirelessly via an email account. The problem is my Torch 9810 crashed (JVM error 545) which had forced me to wipe out the device and load new OS before I back up my bbm contact wirelessly on the new device. I have also backed up to my pc via Blackberry Desktop Software and Blacberry Protect but when I restore it didn't restore BBM contacts only phonebook contact.I thought I can restore using my email on this Torch but no.its also seems to be linked to my PIN number. Thus, when i try to restore using my email it said "no account linked to this email" :-(
cancel my Blackberry Curve 9300 association with the wireless service provider. I transferred it to my son that has another service provider and is getting all the services from the device with them, less to set up his email account.
To take full advantage of a 4G network must the device be designed for a 4G network.most new 3G smartphones indicate 4G compatible but does that mean they will perform at 4G speeds? If the samrtphone must be 4G does anyone know when 4G devices will be released?
looking for a great barcode scanning and signature capture device for the BlackBerry, let me know. The EnterMoCase is a ruggedized enclosure for the BB that incorporates barcode scanning and signature capture in a single-handed device. It also has advanced power management features that allow the case to charge the BB when it gets below 40% of power.
i have collected probably 15 different chargers the last couple of years that I use at various locations to charge my Blackberry, iPhone, and a couple of Samsung Google Nexus Phones. That is every device other than the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and the Torch before that. I get the familiar message "the charging source connected to your blackberry device cannot charge your battery", except when connected to RIM manufactured charger or fortunately the USB port on my laptop. How in the world can every phone other than RIM's Blackberry take a charge from the various power sources without problem. I had the problem to some degree on the Torch, but figured RIM would catch on and get it fixed. Now I have the new Bold 9900 and it does not even work on my trusted 12V car charger. If 4 or 5 different devices work with multiple chargers and the Bold 9900 does not work on any it has to be a RIM and BLACKBERRY problem.Maybe the guys in Waterloo are just totally insulated from the rest of the world and only own BlackBerry phones with Blackberry chargers and believe there is not a problem. At least it appear that way with this charger issue and several other issues, but I won't get deeper into that here?
