BlackBerry :: Is 4G Device Needed To Enjoy Speeds Of 4G Network

Oct 27, 2010

To take full advantage of a 4G network must the device be designed for a 4G network.most new 3G smartphones indicate 4G compatible but does that mean they will perform at 4G speeds? If the samrtphone must be 4G does anyone know when 4G devices will be released?

BB Bold 9700 :: 3G Network - Modem Speeds

Apr 21, 2010

I am trying to make some sense out of the slow modem speeds I am getting on the 3G network. Below is a comparison between the different methods tried and the results. The SIM was transferred into a Sierra wireless card, then the speeds took off. All tests were tried at the same time of day, to the same servers, with IP header compression turned off for the BB connection, all on the 3G networks. I even tried a Rogers SIM for comparison where I could. Changing "modem speeds" on the link to the BB made no difference.
Normally I may just accept the differences, but I am looking to have about 25 users connect this way, to save on having a PCMCIA card or USB, as well as a separate data account. I have connected my notebook to the 9700 via Bluetooth and a USB 2.0 connection. My 9700 is connected to the Telus network, software version 5.0.0.442 (726)...

IPhone :: Needed To Reconnect To "home" Wifi Network Constantly?

May 9, 2012

After puchasing my iphone 4s last Sunday, the very first thing I noticed out of the box was that I needed to reconnect to my "home" wifi network constantly. After browsing the infinite amount of discussions regarding this issue, I realized this is not an isolated issue with my hardware. Monday, I attempted a connect to my "work" wifi network, and had absolutly no problems all day long. I determined that the only difference between wifi networks relating to my iphone was the wireless security setting. My home wifi was originally setup as WEP, my work wifi is currently setup as WPA2.Tuesday, I accessed my wifi router settings (Linksys wrt54g)> udpated wireless security settings from WEP to WPA2.Problem solved.Since I was not able to track down any easy solutions to this problem within all of the ongoing discussions, I wanted to share this info.

Info:
iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1

I baught the phones used from ebay. One of the phones is working fine. The other phone is not connecting to the 3G network. It is not even showing the 3G network when I manually search networks. I want it to connect to the 3G network because WIND only uses 3G.

Both are running the same( latest )OS version. I have switched sim cards(to no avail) and I have tried to restore it to factory settings using the wipe feature in the security settings(nothing)Both phones are next to each other. One is showing 3G the other is showing 2G (same carrier).

BlackBerry :: Using Mobile Network On 9810?

Dec 18, 2011

I am trying to access the internet using the Mobile Network? When I go to Manage Connections, I enable Mobile Network. On the top right it shows the internet signal, with 3-4 bars (it varies) with and H+ to the left of it. Doesn't this mean that the internet should work? So I try using the Browser, just typing in something like [URL] and I get the following message, "There is insufficient network coverage to process your request. Please try again later."I've tried it a few times and it still gives me the same message. I've made sure that Data Services is "On", and below where it says Mobile Network and Network Mode it shows: AT&T and 3G/H+ & 2G, respectively.

In the Service Status tab, it shows:

Mobile Voice
Status: Available
Connection: Mobile Nework

[code]....

When I bought the phone, the salespeople had told me the internet should be activated. I called them a few mins ago and they said the same thing. Also, just an FYI, when I connect to my WiFi network at home the internet works just fine. It's when I turn WiFi networks off, and leave Mobile Network "On" that the internet stops working.

BlackBerry :: Cannot Connect To Mobile Network

Jan 31, 2012

I cannot connect to my mobile network. I recently got a bb 8800 which has been unlocked to all networks (checked this all categories disabled when I type MEPD).

I have a sim card with three (network) but it won't connect to the mobile network just displays SOS in the top right corner.

I have tried restarting/taking out battery/changing sim/leaving for hours but nothing. In manage connections it is set to orange when I try to scan for available networks it only displays orange, vodafone, O2 and t-mobile and all of these won't connect.

what to do I lost my old bb (and didn't have insurance silly me) so got a replacement sim from my network and managed to get this 8800 for a good price but that's no good if it's not connecting.

Curve :: Unable To Register Blackberry On Network

Jun 1, 2012

I changed my phone from iphone to blackberry Curve 9220. I am using Airtel postpaid plan for data. Not, I am able to see edge in blackberry but I guess if it is not caps (EDGE), it means service provider is not registering it.

As checked in various forums, I did follow KB00510- to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network.

I also tried to follow KB05000 but couldn't becuase I was never able to set any Internet service e-mail account. I also tried following KB02830 - sending the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service but couldn't because I don't see an option of choosing Internet mail account. When i click setup-> email accounts, it automatically takes me to enterprise account. I also tried doing it from provider's website (url...) but the dialogue box asked me repeat the step of registering at Host routing table, which i already did earlier.
