My BB Curve 8320 from Airtel Nigeria is running on v4.5.0.55 and I an seeking to upgrade. Can I upgrade to v5 0r v6? If not, which software version is available to me for upgrade. I need something fresh. I have tried downloading the version for my service provider and it seems to be a lower version to what I have (4.2.*).
This is the error message after i downloaded an app and rebooted the device. How can i get my phone fixed. My PC cannot see my devide which means i cannot upgrade the software.
I wanted to update my device software (currently v4.6.1) to the v5.0. However when i try to run the update it tells me i must have a data plan. Do you think/know if it is possible to activate my data plan for, lets say, a month, install the new version, and then deactivate de data plan and keep using the v5.0 with no problems? (has anyone tried this?) (is it worth the update?) (is it worth the risk?)
I'm trying to update my device software. There is new software that's available for my BB 8900 but my wireless provider has the older version v4.6.1.250 I've tried to download from the BB website but fails to do so. Has anybody updated their curve 8900?
I tried to upgrade my software for my BB CUrve 9300, wirelessly but now the phone enters a reset loop with the message:
Abnormal reset detected during update. Press any key to return to pre-update configuration
I have tried everything, pulling the battery, the sim card, the memory card but its still on the loop. I found a similar post from 2010 below which is the same problem but no resolution was made.[URL]...
RIM sent me an e-mail today inviting me to upgrade my Sprint Curve 8330 to Device Software 5.0. In the past, this wasn't available on Sprint devices. My computer is a Mac, so I connected to Blackberry Desktop Manager and it said that there are no upgrades available. Am I able to upgrade my device software?

Everytime I plug in my phone and open the blackberry manager to do whaterver it gives me the message that I haven't installed the Blackberry Device Manager . I updated my desktop manager to version 5.0, and I tried to update my device software and it says that I don't have any updates, after that I have deleted the files device.xml and vendor.xml but again when I plugged in my phone it comes the message that the Blackberry Device Manager is not installed. I've uninstalled the desktop manager and it let me use once but again no update for my phone software and then again the same message that i haven't installed the Blackberry Device Manager

I'm updating my BlackBerry Curve 8520 device software version from 4.6.1.272 to 4.6.1.314. I used the BlackBerry Desktop Software and clicked the "Update my device" button in updating my BlackBerry Curve device software version. The process was started last Monday, November 15, 2010 but until now is not yet finish (Thursday, November 18, 2010). Is this normal? I cannot disconnect my device because it said that "During these steps, do not disconnect your device or interrupt this process as it could make your device unusable."
I updated my BB 9700 to v 5.0.0.545 (Platform 5.1.0.140)and subsequently pressing on the "mute" button no longer turns on/off "standby mode.I tried the mute button during a phone call and that works fine. So I don't think the issue is hardware.Plus it was all fine before the device update.
I currently have the BB 8520 with 4.6 software, I've been doing to get the O.S 5 update following the 'Upgrade Guide'. I've tried deleting the vendor.xml file but still not luck it still keeps on saying it doesn't have "BlackBerry Device Software". I've tried to following things.
1. Searching my entire computer for another vendor.xml file
2. Re-installing both the upgrade and Desktop Manager
Still no luck, can anybody try and help me out? I've done some searching on the forum and found nothing.

I updated my blackberry software overnight on my device (curve 9330) and when I woke up in the morning there was a constant white screen with a little diagram and 561 error message underneath. I followed the instructions to update the device software on my desktop and had the latest version (6.1.0.35).The device does not connect to the PC at all and a battery reset on the device did not help.It is frozen with the white 561 error message screen.
My wife recently purchased the 8530 curve, and I have the 8330. I was playing around with it and liked the view and some of the features that the new software has available (mainly the new clock that has 'bedside' options for use as an alarm clock and the look of the icons.). Does anyone know if the 8530 software can be run on the 8330 without issues?
I have a blackberry 8520 also and I am finding it impossible to update. I currently have v4.6.1.314 and my friends have been able to update their version to 5.0 with the same smartphone. It says there are no updates available when I put it in the computer or do it manually through me phone.
Ok, I've got an early model 3GS serial from week 23.I originally jailbroke it using purplera1n on its original 3.0 firmware. I didn't bother doing any of the updates since then, since everything was working pretty well. As a precaution I have stored my hashed keys with Cydia.
Now there are starting to be newer apps that require firmware 3.1 so I figured I would update.I've read through a few tutorials and it isn't 100% clear what update path I should go. I have tried Pwnage tool on my Macbook and it doesn't seem to detect my phone to put into DFU mode. I have a few questions hopefully someone here can answer:
1) Should I even be using Pwnage tool? Or should I be using blackra1n? Does it matter?
2) With Pwnage tool, when it asks if my phone has been 'pwned' before, should I answer yes or no? When I answer no, it doesn't detect my phone. When I answer yes, it tells me to put the phone into DFU mode myself and reestore using iTunes. Is this safe to do?
Ever since i updated my iphone to 5.1.1 it wont receive imessages that are sent to my phone number only imessages that are sent right to my [url].. account. I've tried going to my imessaging settings at changing where i received at and it wont let me add my phone number. How can i fix this?

i'm currently runnung with 4.7.0.1818 but can update to the 5.0 version. i've also tried updating wirelessly but when i check for updates it pops up and says 'unable to send request for available updates'.
I have Blackberry 8520, the device software version is 4.6.1.314. I have tried update to v5.0. cannot do it, everytime it says my software is up to date. Well the Device software is not.
The other day my phone was scrolling in the wrong direction so I took the battery out and put it back in, the phone showed the BlackBerry sign and the progress bar it got just over the half way mark & stopped, I left it like that for about 20minutes to no avail.I must have taken the battery out about 15-20 times and it still didn't get any further, I called T-Mobile they said to take my phone into a shop.Well I plugged my phone into my laptop and it switched on after a while, I updated the software on my laptop & then my phone. It deleted my messages, numbers, emails, bbm, facebook & BlackBerry aps. It also stopped me receiving MMS messages & I was unable to view Excel spreadsheets ( I have fixed the Excel issue via Desktop Software installing the app). It also has changed my sms messages back to the old settings (Not the bubble like) & the keyboard lock is no longer the mute key on the top of the phone.I've plugged my phone in again and it says I already have the latest updates. (Which clearly I do not). The version on my handset says: V4.6.1.314 (Platform V4.2.0.135 i tried to update from the T-Mobile local site via the BlackBerry carrier but I do not know the log in details.
