I did a backup of my iphone 4 ios 4.3.1 before I started upgrading it to ios 5.1. Upgrade went well until i got to the part of restoring from a backup. For some reason, it asked me for a password which i disable on the iphone before i started upgrading. I tried putting the old password which i disabled but no luck. I tried my laptop password also but no luck. Does anyone know which password are they actually asking?

I lost my phone and needed to get a replacement. When I did, I started the activation process, but never got prompted to restore from iCloud, just from my last backup in iTunes. I've run the restoration, and the backup was pretty out of date. Is there a way to restore the backup I'd set up in iCloud at this point?

I just bought Samsung Galaxy S6 today replacing my just one month old LG G4. One funny thing about restoring contacts after device factory reset on the S6 is that the contacts restored are not from my my G4 it's from my older device, LG G2. So I lost some contacts which I added during my short ownership of my G4. My Android Device Manager shows that I have G4 on my device list, but when I tried to recover the contacts the S6 notifies me that I last updated 6 months ago... That cannot be right... As I just back up all my google account contacts just before I wipe my G4.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe iTunes data on the computer my iPhone was firstly connected and configurated with has been deleted. I was looking for an opportunity to update my iPhone to the newest iOS software (since it was on 5.0) without erasing all the data saved on my mobile. But that time I did not know that all data will be erased when upgrading a device a complete version (like from 3.0 to 4.0 or 4.0 to 5.0) and then it happened. Several hundred business contacts of mine has been erased and cannot be reset. All functions except the phone/message contacts are unimportant now. MOST IMPORTANT: I connected my iPhone with a new MacBook, updated iTunes to 10.6.3 (current version) and synced my mobile with it. Data will be erased if updating on an unknown computer (for iOS device) where no data which are on my iPhone are saved. Unfortunately, the instructions at iTunes Support were helpless because during the important backup for resetting all datas has been interrupted with the following window: Backup not possible , There are not enough space on the iPhone left to finish the backup.
It has never continued and since then all data has been erased. I would be incredibly glad if anybody could give me at least a tip to do something.

This past week, my phone "fell" and the screen broke beyond all repair. And I'm not talking about a crack...I'm talking about a huge crack as well blue lines being displayed whenever I hit the home button. Other than that, the phone still works. It charges, it syncs, it vibrates when I get calls or messages but I can't see anything on the screen. I know that I can still unlock though. I managed to backup my pictures directly onto my Mac using iPhoto. Besides my pictures and Calendar dates, there wasn't much that I cared for within the actual phone.Â
I went to my local phone service provider place and they told me that since my phone was a 4S and was covered for damage, I could send it to Apple in exchange for a new phone. I already contacted them and received my new 5C. Now, I'm not really worried about the pictures because they're already in my computer; I'm worried about all the Calendar dates that are in my broken 4S. Yes, I did do a backup AFTER it fell so I have a backup ready. But the thing is that I do not wish to sync this onto my new 5C just for the calendar dates. Â
I have an old iPod 4th Generation that I'm willing to use to restore with the backup of my 4S but I don't know how to do that. I was hoping that I could apply the backup of my 4S onto my iPod and then manually enter all the dates that I needed onto my 5C.
Anybody knows how could I possibly restore contacts from a *dead* 7210c? NSU doesn't seem to like the USB connection with phone off, but I guess if it's possible to flash it from dead there must be a way to access its internal memory to, right?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]
I needed to complete a wipe device last night which i have done, didnt bother playing with the phone after, gone to make a call this morning to find out that it has deleted all my numbers from both my directory and my sim card directory. should this of happened?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy wife recently purchased the 8530 curve, and I have the 8330. I was playing around with it and liked the view and some of the features that the new software has available (mainly the new clock that has 'bedside' options for use as an alarm clock and the look of the icons.). Does anyone know if the 8530 software can be run on the 8330 without issues?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI switched phones a while ago and updated to iOS 5. When I got my new phone, iTunes correctly treated it like a new device. I have lots of pictures in a device backup file in iTunes (or do I?). (Location of device backups: Preferences > Devices) I can see the old device backups I did before updating to iOS 5 last October. Is there a way, without "wacking" my iPhone and restoring it to an older version, to get the pictures out of those device backups?

I have a new 3GS with 3.1.2. It has nevert been JB before but I have contacts, music etc in it.
Just now I was trying to JB it and the 1st step I did was to "Shift - Update" to 3.1.2 firmware to make it a "virgin device", but I got an error "device not eligible to restore the build requested". Anything went wrong?
Also, since my 3GS has never been JB before, can I just use blackra1n to JB it without "virginizing it"?
