Jul 15, 2015I just bought Samsung Galaxy S6 today replacing my just one month old LG G4. One funny thing about restoring contacts after device factory reset on the S6 is that the contacts restored are not from my my G4 it's from my older device, LG G2. So I lost some contacts which I added during my short ownership of my G4. My Android Device Manager shows that I have G4 on my device list, but when I tried to recover the contacts the S6 notifies me that I last updated 6 months ago... That cannot be right... As I just back up all my google account contacts just before I wipe my G4.

Before I left, my gave my bb 8530 to a friend. When I got to Ghana, I mistakenly restored my contact list using email, so it automatically removed my friend's bbm data and now she has lost her contacts.Initially, her bbm contacts appeared on my blackberry messenger contacts so I decided to back up my files remotely. Nothing happened and I later backed up locally using my saved back up list for last month then it was restored. This morning, I got a few bbm request that were her contacts.

This time, when I click on the option to restore it says that they have to send an email to verify that my email account is valid, I click ok and then it says that my email account (which is working perfectly on the phone) is invalid and they were unable to send a verification email and to check if the account is valid and try again later. I have been doing this for two days and nothing has changed.

Oct 28, 2010I had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]

Just now I was trying to JB it and the 1st step I did was to "Shift - Update" to 3.1.2 firmware to make it a "virgin device", but I got an error "device not eligible to restore the build requested". Anything went wrong?
Also, since my 3GS has never been JB before, can I just use blackra1n to JB it without "virginizing it"?

The problem is my Torch 9810 crashed (JVM error 545) which had forced me to wipe out the device and load new OS before I back up my bbm contact wirelessly on the new device. I have also backed up to my pc via Blackberry Desktop Software and Blacberry Protect but when I restore it didn't restore BBM contacts only phonebook contact.I thought I can restore using my email on this Torch but no.its also seems to be linked to my PIN number.
