Google Nexus 6 :: How To Restore Android 5.0.1 (Stock) To Device

Feb 3, 2015

I installed a custom recovery on my nexus 6 called Rastapop. Don't get me wrong, its a great rom, it's just not for me. I would like to completely revert back to android 5.0.1 because I loved it. I completely wiped the device before installing Rastapop, so I cannot simply "factory reset" my device.

I can completely handle the flashing process due to the fact that I am an experienced programer. All I need from you is the link to the Nexus 6 5.0.1 ROM, and the link to the Nexus 6 5.0.1 GAPPS (Google Apps).

Google Nexus 5 :: Attach Animate Files (GIF Format) In Android Stock Gmail App

Dec 29, 2014

I have questions about animated gif file(s) which is send by Android Gmail as attachment My device is non rooted N5 with kitkat (4.4.4); gmail is 5.0.1 (1642443).

1) Unable to open gif attachment as animated file in gmail, I usually use Quickpic to open gif file in my device and in cloud storage because Gallary dose not work. But in gmail i do not have to option to choose the app, the default image viewer in gmail ( may be gallery ?) dose not display the animated effect. So i have to save the file to my phone or to Gdrive to see the animation. Is there a way to view the animation directly in the email without save the file??

.2)Could i send image files in Android gmail as 'In Line' Similar to the 'insert photo' function in desktop gmail instead of 'Attachment', how?

Google Nexus 5 :: Manually Flashed 6.0 Stock Images But Only Get Dead Android For Recovery

Oct 7, 2015

I can't seem to get a working recovery after flashing stock images with and without TWRP 2.8.7.1.

I followed these steps to upgrade to Android 6.0 after verifying the md5 checksum of my download:

adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-hammerhead....img [it looks the same as before, but I did it anyway]
reboot bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-hammerhead....img
reboot bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img

I have also tried with and without flashing cache

fastboot reboot

Then I go back into the bootloader and try to access recovery, but I only get the dead android with the red triangle.

I'm having the same problem with my Nexus 7 (2013).

Google Nexus 6 :: Not Showing In Android Device Manager Running 5.1

Mar 25, 2015

I currently have an unlocked Nexus 6 running latest build of 5.1 on Verizon right now since Sunday. However I can't get the Nexus to show in my Android Device Manager. The Nexus does show in Google Play. I have cleared cache and data from Device Manager app, I have uninstalled and re installed Device Manager as well. I have went into Google settings>Security and toggled on and off "Remotely locate this device" and "Allow remote lock and erase". I have powered down and on this device several times. I have removed my Google account and then resigned back into the account. I just can't think of anything else to do. I have searched online for this problem and have done everything that was told to me. I am hoping not to factory reset the device but if its the last result, I may not have a choose.

P.S. Is there a setting that I'm missing that has either Gmail or Inbox app retrieve emails quicker. It doesn't seem to be refreshing or pushing the emails to my phone very often. I have missed couple very important emails because of this. Not sure if its a related problem with the device manager situtation (doubt it).

Google Nexus 5 :: Recovering Deleted Files With Unrooted Unlocked Device - Android 6.0

Nov 22, 2015

I have a complicated situation with deleted files (photos and videos) recovery,

Phone : Nexus 5
Android: M (6.0) BN: (MRA58N)
Root/unlock: Unrooted and Unlocked

Some one has deleted all the files in the camera folder in the gallery, i want to restore these deleted files. After hours of digging the internet, i found a lot of applications that doesn't work (almost all of it either require root or require USB Mass storage), and as you know we are only able to connect to the PC using MTP protocol. Rooting the device requires unlocking it which will cause the whole phone to be wiped.

I have two questions:

1) Is there any (REAL) way to recover the deleted files (Images and videos) with the current circumstances (Unrooted, Unlocked, MTP Connection) ?

2) If the answer of question 1 is NO, if i unlocked (and for sure wiped) the phone then rooted it, can i still have the ability to recover these files, i mean how badly the wipping process will affect the internal phone storage?

HTC One X :: Restore SMS From Backup On Stock Messages App In Android 4.0.4?

Jan 4, 2013

I have gotten my phone back from repair, and it is now empty. Before I sent it, I backed up the SMS messages using the stock messages app. I stored the file on dropbox. Now, I am trying to restore the messages. So, I go to dropbox, and export the file to the SD Card in the phone. However, no matter where on the SD card I store the file, the messages app cannot find it to restore.

//Note that I now have no messages in my phone. Do I need to make some messages to produce the correct folder first?// (Edit: I did this, and it made no difference)

why the file cannot be found?

Google Nexus 5 :: Reflash Stock ROM Via Bootloader

Dec 13, 2015

my Nexus 5 has recently run into a problem where it suddenly decided to get stuck in a bootloop. I figured I could just reflash the stock rom via the boot loader with the wugfresh root toolkit but that unfortunately didn't work. But by doing this I noticed that my bootloader was not staying unlocked when I try to unlock it. Every time I unlock the boot loader and it restarts the bootloader automatically re-locks. I then proceeded to try and manually flashing the stock rom files individually and unlocking the bootloader each time I flash a file which was really annoying. It still hasn't worked and I'm starting to get worried because I've also started to notice my recovery can't really factory reset or wipe the cache. Instead I get this message at the bottom of the screen:

E:failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)
E:Can't mount /ache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /ache/recovery/log
E:failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)
E:Can't mount /ache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /ache/recovery/last_log
E:failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)
E:Can't mount /ache/recovery/last_install
E:Can't open /ache/recovery/last_install
E:failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)

So now I'm completely stumped, could this be the end of my Nexus 5?

Google Nexus 5 :: Stock 5.1 - Music Temporarily Unavailable

Been having this error on/off for a month now. Sometimes it works on wi-fi but not on cell, most of the times not at all.

Right now at home I can play from my other devices (win7-pc, chromecast, Nexus10) without problems. I can browse music fine on the phone and play moview works fine - so the account is not the problem.

All hits I've had searching gave just different settings to try with caching, dl'ing etc. They are to no avail. Tried all combinations.

And I double clicked "flash-all.sh" and it failed after few seconds. I could not see what happened so I again ran the executable under terminal and seen it failed again. I just remmebered that I hadn't unlocked the bootloader before running the script. Now, the phone is not turning on at all. It only vibrates if I hold the power button for some seconds, 6 seconds actually and if I hold the button for longer times, it keeps vibrating every 6 seconds.

I am not even getting the Google logo thing.
