i don't like google play for music takes too long to add songs and i previously had an iPhone i bought the songs on iTunes and I've been putting them on but there is no search or anything to see if duplicates have been added.
View 1 RepliesMy nexus 5 worked perfectly with Android File Transfer, and suddenly, about a week ago it stopped working, nothing has changed in that week, except that AFT was behaving in an unexpected manner and I force quit it several times. The device shows charging but no connection. When I open AFT, it says plug in the Android device.
I did usual troubleshooting:
1) checked on the mac attached devices, my phone wasn't one of them
2) re-installed Android File Transfer, same issue
3) trying changing the settings on the device - turning off and on the USB debugging, changing type of connection with the computer from Media device to camera and back.
4) Restarted both devices and tried various cables, still nothing.
My nexus 5 is caught in the bootloop on marshmallow and I dont know how to even begin to address the problem. Power button isn't stuck as far as I can tell and I can't get android file transfer to even detect it for obvious reasons. I presume I need to flash a new version of the OS to my phone but that has never been my area of expertise.

View 7 Replies View RelatedJust about 2 or 3 weeks ago i could use android file transfer just fine to sync my data in my htc one. But now every time i plug in my phone and open android file transfer it says no device found, please plug in your device or restart phone.
When I replug it or restart the phone it says "could not connect to device". I have tried using three different usb cables to attempt to connect but it doesn't work.
The last time i was using android file transfer my sister asked to sync her stuff so i connected her s4 mini and android file transfer said the same thing it said to me. That's wierd coz right before she asked me for her phone to be synced android file transfer was working fine with my phone. I installed samsung kies and synced her data in her phone. How to fix require to uninstall kies or reinstall drivers and restart computer. I have done all the methods and i still can't use android file transfer.
I have been using my Galaxy s6 to connect to my iMac for about a month. Recently every time I plug it in , it keeps giving me an "No android device found message" I have been doing a lot of researching and they where saying something about enabling MTP , but I couldn't even find that on my phone. The android version I am using is 5.0.2.

I receive this error when I try to add a card in Android Pay: "Android Pay cannot be used: Google is unable to verify that your device of the software running on it is Android compatible". I tried disabling root entirely and using RootCloak (Xposed) to hide root from Android Pay and Google Wallet, but I still can't use Pay. Wallet still works as it always has.
View 3 Replies View RelatedBasically, I have a Nexus 5 which has damage to the connection between the mainboard and USB/display daughterboard meaning no display or external connectivity. I don't cloud sync my photos and the last manual backup of the phone was in July. Since then I've been on holiday and my son has been born so some quite important events as you can imagine.
The phone still boots but with obviously no method of connectivity I've hit a brick wall. The only option I think I have is a wireless file transfer.
I flashed Android 6.0 to my Nexus5 and rooted it with NRT. I can't copy a new hosts file to /system/etc because there is to less space. df shows in fact just 4k of free space.

I bought a webcam on amazon for around $20 and they were complete crap, i cant afford anything more right now and i have both these devices with great cameras already. is there a way to connect them through usb to my PC so i can use them as a webcam? I tried ip webcam but my internet suck and when i stream both the video and anything online it lags and i need lag free. I assumed connecting through usb would be better, but i cant find anything good on how to do that. i tried WO Webcam but it connects briefly and then just disconnects.

I would like to completely revert back to android 5.0.1 because I loved it. I completely wiped the device before installing Rastapop, so I cannot simply "factory reset" my device.
I can completely handle the flashing process due to the fact that I am an experienced programer. All I need from you is the link to the Nexus 6 5.0.1 ROM, and the link to the Nexus 6 5.0.1 GAPPS (Google Apps).
In Windows you can set your computer to ask where to save a downloaded file. I would like the same feature on my Nexus 6 that way I don't have to download to a general file then move into the desired folder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have an unlocked Nexus 6 running latest build of 5.1 on Verizon right now since Sunday. However I can't get the Nexus to show in my Android Device Manager. The Nexus does show in Google Play. I have cleared cache and data from Device Manager app, I have uninstalled and re installed Device Manager as well. I have went into Google settings>Security and toggled on and off "Remotely locate this device" and "Allow remote lock and erase". I have powered down and on this device several times. I have removed my Google account and then resigned back into the account. I just can't think of anything else to do. I have searched online for this problem and have done everything that was told to me. I am hoping not to factory reset the device but if its the last result, I may not have a choose.
P.S. Is there a setting that I'm missing that has either Gmail or Inbox app retrieve emails quicker. It doesn't seem to be refreshing or pushing the emails to my phone very often. I have missed couple very important emails because of this. Not sure if its a related problem with the device manager situtation (doubt it).
Just checking in on Android Device Manager every now and then, and I notice the Nexus 6 I've had since November is a no show. My Nexus 7 and Asus TF Prime show on the list as expected.
I have Android Device Manager enabled as an administrator in the phone settings, and I don't see much in the way of settings on the site.

Android hasn't been syncing saved network info for me since I was on my Note 2 6 months ago. So now I have all my saved Wi-Fi info on the N7 (which never leaves home), and it never synced to my N6 or G3 before that.
Any ways to troubleshoot this?? I do have app data checked to sync on both the gmail accounts on my Nexus 6.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is bizarre, everything was fine until this morning, not sure what's going on but the phone still comes up in Windows 8 file explorer, however as soon as I click the Internal Storage directory, file explorer stalls as the green progress bar slowly crawls along and eventually times out.
The phone says it's in MTP mode.
I looked at the driver supporting this phone for Windows 8 and it says it's from 2006. I found a link for installing thhe Google USB driver but there is no instructions for installing it in Windows 8, the phone not connecting to the computer in MTP mode which isn't an issue for me.
Rebooted the phone and tried again, no luck.
I have a complicated situation with deleted files (photos and videos) recovery,

Root/unlock: Unrooted and Unlocked
Some one has deleted all the files in the camera folder in the gallery, i want to restore these deleted files. After hours of digging the internet, i found a lot of applications that doesn't work (almost all of it either require root or require USB Mass storage), and as you know we are only able to connect to the PC using MTP protocol. Rooting the device requires unlocking it which will cause the whole phone to be wiped.
I have two questions:
1) Is there any (REAL) way to recover the deleted files (Images and videos) with the current circumstances (Unrooted, Unlocked, MTP Connection) ?
2) If the answer of question 1 is NO, if i unlocked (and for sure wiped) the phone then rooted it, can i still have the ability to recover these files, i mean how badly the wipping process will affect the internal phone storage?
How do I transfer my music (which is supposedly stored on cloud on Google music) to my Samsung device. Which is not running Google music.

Im not sure why this is happening. Now i cant transfer photos an videos like i was once doing. Before kitkat 4.4.2 (at&t) it was working perfectly but now nothing opens up.

The web interface allows for this easily, and Samsung's calendar allowed for this as well. this basic concept is there and I have just missed it. If not, I will be looking for calendar replacements

I didn't try it until after the ICS update, but whenever I plug in my Xoom, the Android File Transfer program pops up, then crashes. I've tried restarting both the Xoom and my Mac multiple times. Never had KIES installed, my usb ports work fine, I tested them, my cable works fine. checked the Media Device (MTP) still doesn't work... deleted and re-installed AFT multiple times, i still get the "Could not connect to device. Try reconnecting or restarting your device"
I recently made the switch from iPhone to a galaxy S5. I have a macbook pro that of course has my music in iTunes. I recently tried downloading the android file transfer but whenever it would try to open on the mac it told me it could not connect to my device and to try to restart it or reconnect it. Nothing I did has made a difference. The computer just won't connect to the phone it seems. Both my S5 and mac have the latest versions possible updated so that's not an issue. I'd really like to get more of my music on my S5 other than what I put on there right when I got the phone using SmartSwitch.
