Google Nexus 5 :: Android File Transfer
Sep 7, 2015My nexus 5 worked perfectly with Android File Transfer, and suddenly, about a week ago it stopped working, nothing has changed in that week, except that AFT was behaving in an unexpected manner and I force quit it several times. The device shows charging but no connection. When I open AFT, it says plug in the Android device.
I did usual troubleshooting:
1) checked on the mac attached devices, my phone wasn't one of them
2) re-installed Android File Transfer, same issue
3) trying changing the settings on the device - turning off and on the USB debugging, changing type of connection with the computer from Media device to camera and back.
4) Restarted both devices and tried various cables, still nothing.

Oct 26, 2015My nexus 5 is caught in the bootloop on marshmallow and I dont know how to even begin to address the problem. Power button isn't stuck as far as I can tell and I can't get android file transfer to even detect it for obvious reasons. I presume I need to flash a new version of the OS to my phone but that has never been my area of expertise.

Nov 1, 2015Basically, I have a Nexus 5 which has damage to the connection between the mainboard and USB/display daughterboard meaning no display or external connectivity. I don't cloud sync my photos and the last manual backup of the phone was in July. Since then I've been on holiday and my son has been born so some quite important events as you can imagine.
The phone still boots but with obviously no method of connectivity I've hit a brick wall. The only option I think I have is a wireless file transfer.

Feb 25, 2014This is bizarre, everything was fine until this morning, not sure what's going on but the phone still comes up in Windows 8 file explorer, however as soon as I click the Internal Storage directory, file explorer stalls as the green progress bar slowly crawls along and eventually times out.
The phone says it's in MTP mode.
I looked at the driver supporting this phone for Windows 8 and it says it's from 2006. I found a link for installing thhe Google USB driver but there is no instructions for installing it in Windows 8, the phone not connecting to the computer in MTP mode which isn't an issue for me.
Rebooted the phone and tried again, no luck.

Oct 23, 2014I installed the latest build of the android lollipop developer preview on my nexus 5. All works fine (exept for wel know problems with original mail app and mx player). My problem is that I can't create ANY reminders. If say "remind me in 10 min" i get the popup, but i'm not able to activate it ("V" stays grayed out)...
Even if I go manually via the hamburger menu in google now, "reminders" is grayed out and I can't click it . All works fine for the rest (except for every reboot i need to set the primary default language to English - US every time for google now to work at all)....

Feb 14, 2015I recently made the switch from iPhone to a galaxy S5. I have a macbook pro that of course has my music in iTunes. I recently tried downloading the android file transfer but whenever it would try to open on the mac it told me it could not connect to my device and to try to restart it or reconnect it. Nothing I did has made a difference. The computer just won't connect to the phone it seems. Both my S5 and mac have the latest versions possible updated so that's not an issue. I'd really like to get more of my music on my S5 other than what I put on there right when I got the phone using SmartSwitch.

I receive this error when I try to add a card in Android Pay: "Android Pay cannot be used: Google is unable to verify that your device of the software running on it is Android compatible". I tried disabling root entirely and using RootCloak (Xposed) to hide root from Android Pay and Google Wallet, but I still can't use Pay. Wallet still works as it always has.

Oct 3, 2013Just about 2 or 3 weeks ago i could use android file transfer just fine to sync my data in my htc one. But now every time i plug in my phone and open android file transfer it says no device found, please plug in your device or restart phone.
When I replug it or restart the phone it says "could not connect to device". I have tried using three different usb cables to attempt to connect but it doesn't work.

That's wierd coz right before she asked me for her phone to be synced android file transfer was working fine with my phone. I installed samsung kies and synced her data in her phone. How to fix require to uninstall kies or reinstall drivers and restart computer. I have done all the methods and i still can't use android file transfer.

Oct 27, 2015I have two Nexus 5, one is running Lollipop 5.1.1, the other Marshmallow 6.0 (OTA upgrade).
USB Audio out works fine on the Lollipop Nexus 5: I can connect a USB DAC (iBasso D-zero MK2) using an OTG cable and play streaming music with Spotify, Google Play Music and local music files with Rocket Player. Connecting the same USB DAC with the same cable to the Marshmallow Nexus 5 fails: no sound when playing streaming music and local files using the same apps. (The USB Audio Player Pro app works fine on the Marshmallow Nexus 5, though, allowing to play local music files via USB.)
I tried the "Select USB Configuration" setting in Developers Options and set it to "Audio Source", with no success. Also, the "Disable USB audio routing" setting in Developers Options is disabled.
Google Nexus 5 :: Bad WiFi Signal On Android 6
Oct 24, 2015I flashed factory image of android 6 on the day of the release. I've had worse wifi signal than I had on 5.1.1, a very notable change. In my wife's nexus 5 I waited till the ota update, and that phone doesn't have the same issue. I've tried flashing the radio from 5.1.1,but didn't see any change. I also refreshed to stock 6.0,and performed factory reset.
I'm at like 60% signal when sitting next to the router.
