View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Titanium Backup license file (txt) was not recognized on the sdcard. I tried almost everything. Uninstalled, reinstalled and so on. I also placed the file in the mnt/sdcard folder what didn't wok. I owned several devices and never had a single problem. There must be something nexus specific?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI don't remember this being an issue with any phone prior. I've had a video on here since Friday. Just a 30 second clip of my daughter riding a carousel at the mall. I can't get it to backup. I've set it to mobile and wifi, I've set it to wifi only, I've tried forcing the backup. Nothing. The pics have backed up just fine. But not this one video.

My nexus 5 worked perfectly with Android File Transfer, and suddenly, about a week ago it stopped working, nothing has changed in that week, except that AFT was behaving in an unexpected manner and I force quit it several times. The device shows charging but no connection. When I open AFT, it says plug in the Android device.
I did usual troubleshooting:
1) checked on the mac attached devices, my phone wasn't one of them
2) re-installed Android File Transfer, same issue
3) trying changing the settings on the device - turning off and on the USB debugging, changing type of connection with the computer from Media device to camera and back.
4) Restarted both devices and tried various cables, still nothing.
My nexus 5 is caught in the bootloop on marshmallow and I dont know how to even begin to address the problem. Power button isn't stuck as far as I can tell and I can't get android file transfer to even detect it for obvious reasons. I presume I need to flash a new version of the OS to my phone but that has never been my area of expertise.
View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically, I have a Nexus 5 which has damage to the connection between the mainboard and USB/display daughterboard meaning no display or external connectivity. I don't cloud sync my photos and the last manual backup of the phone was in July. Since then I've been on holiday and my son has been born so some quite important events as you can imagine.
The phone still boots but with obviously no method of connectivity I've hit a brick wall. The only option I think I have is a wireless file transfer.
Recently I discovered that I could not open PNG type file attachments. LP would just spin it's wheels with no display. The solution was to install an app which could handle PNG file types ... Fast Image Viewer.
Then I realized I needed more control over which apps are used with specific file types.
(Similiar to Windows Open With option.)
I discovered the app ... Better Open With ... which permits the user some control and visibility.
BOW permits the user to set the default app used to open each catergory of file types.
You also can change the default app as desired...and override the default if needed.
The app replaces the Android "Complete Action Using" function.
So far so good ... I have more control! I do wish it listed the actual file types ... not just file categories.
As stated in the heading, device not found on Mac?
View 2 Replies View RelatedApparently if I transfer a large amount of files or say a single large file >4GB from my phone to the computer - the phone will freeze up.
Some times it will become responsive later but is pretty unstable since going to Chrome will usually cause it to freeze and I will have to reboot.
I have tried transferring a large amount of anime/tv shows and it will consistently freeze/lock up.
How to enable root mode in the file manager of the new cm13 nightly.
I have root enabled in the rom, but the file manager won't play ball.
In Windows you can set your computer to ask where to save a downloaded file. I would like the same feature on my Nexus 6 that way I don't have to download to a general file then move into the desired folder.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently running Android 6.0 DP3 on my Nexus 5 and have to perform a clean flash due to battery drain issues. However, this will make me go through the whole backup and re-setup process again - backup images, backup Whatsapp, backup all documents and download, flash the phone, restore everything, log into the different apps, set up Gmail accounts etc. Obviously, I'm not looking forward to that it's basically also the reason which has kept me from trying different ROMs on my phone in the past. I know that there is Titanium Backup just for that job, but it needs root access and I can't root my phone because this will trigger the "phone isn't secure"-alarm of my bank's super cautious TAN app which will stop it from working (just like using Tasker does, which obviously sucks).
View 2 Replies View Relatedon the marshmallow auto backup feature that saves app data to gdrive, does this also save the data like titaniuim backup does? or just the apps installed? I wonder if titanium is even needed on marshmallow now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have backup turned on in the Gallery app, in the Gallery app settings it says "Google photos sync is ON", so I am assuming its syncing my photos with my google account, but where do I find the backed up photos? I looked in google drive and google plus, nothings there.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to be a Blackberry user, and backing up and updating the device was as easy as plugging it into the computer and running Blackberry Link. This will be the first time I try to backup and my Nexus.
I'd like to follow the guide that was posted on this blog about installing 5.0 from the factory image ( i can't post the link, but its safeurl is 'android-50-hits-nexus-devices-heres-how-update'), but I'd like to backup all my apps, their settings, texts, pictures, etc first, then flash it to get a fresh install then restore the backups.
I already had installed Titanium Backup on my Nexus 5 but after changing to ART didnt worked any more cause it wasnt compatible, but okay so far no problem. But now i reflashed Cataclysm Rom (so no Titanium Backup installed) and Multiboot and so i wanted to backup my data for the second Rom but now i cant install Titanium Backup on my primary Rom, doesnt matter if i run in ART or change to DALVIK i even tried the newest version wich should run also with ART. It shows every time the error it couldn't be installed, during installprocess.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm using Titanium Backup and my backup folder used to be a USB-drive I mounted with Stickmount.
Now, with Android 6, Stickmount no longer works for me and the built-in USB-OTG mount takes over and mounts the USB drive to /mnt/media_rw/SOMEFOLDER.
But with Titanium Backup, I can't access this folder (folder chooser has no permission to move into this folder).
So, is there a possibility to access the USB drive in another way or do I have to do backups to the internal storage and move it to the USB drive manually?
Is there a way to do this outside of initial set up?

I want to restore an old twrp backup I had made some time ago (with an earlier version of twrp) and moved to my pc. So I copied that backup from my pc to the twrp folder in the nexus 5. But when I reboot into TWRP, twrp lists other backups, but not the one I just copied back into its folder. How can I get twrp to see and restore that nandroid backup?

View 3 Replies View RelatedBoth my wife and I have Auto Backup turned on in the Photos app. Almost invariably, when we take a look at the pictures in the app, the latest pictures have the little badness icon (triangle with an exclamation mark instead of the cloud with a check mark) on them. There's also a nice message at the top saying Auto Backup has failed. If we hit Retry, almost invariably, the backup happens fine and those icons convert to the goodness icons. This is while we're sitting in our house with a perfectly fine WiFi signal that we can use for any other process without trouble. I remember seeing something when the phones just came out about WiFi issues.
View 13 Replies View RelatedIn December, I accidentally slammed a car door on my beloved Nexus 4 and was lucky enough to replace it with a shiny new Nexus 5. The transition to the new phone was smooth, as anticipated, and I've been enjoying my N5.
Now my boss has me selling old computer crap that no one wants on eBay and I've run into a problem. I took pictures of the items with my N5 and went to download them from the Auto Backup so I could create the listings on a desktop.
But my Google+ Auto Backup pictures stop in December, showing only pictures from my N4.
I'm running stock Android 4.4.2 and using Camera Zoom as my photo app (photos show up in the Photo app just fine). I have Auto Backup turned on and it tells me the backup is up to date. If I sign out of the Photos app, sign back in, turn Auto Backup back on and tell it to "update all", it says "uploading 96 of 97 photos". Then nothing is uploaded.
I have it set to upload on cellular data and as far as I can tell, nothing is preventing the upload, except that Auto Backup thinks nothing needs to be uploaded. It's almost like the photos are being backed up somewhere that I just can't find. I'm only using one Google account on this phone, so where they'd be besides my Google+ account.
My phone and lags and the screen shakes. Should I do a factory reset? If yes, then how to backup apps, contacts and settings?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI decided this morning to root my phone and am now realizing that Nova Launcher apparantly doesn't allow you to choose the location of your backup file if you want to restore it..I keep reading that the default location where the backup file needs to be is on an SD card, how could Nova have overlooked this for Nexus 5 owner's?
