In December, I accidentally slammed a car door on my beloved Nexus 4 and was lucky enough to replace it with a shiny new Nexus 5. The transition to the new phone was smooth, as anticipated, and I've been enjoying my N5.
Now my boss has me selling old computer crap that no one wants on eBay and I've run into a problem. I took pictures of the items with my N5 and went to download them from the Auto Backup so I could create the listings on a desktop.
But my Google+ Auto Backup pictures stop in December, showing only pictures from my N4.
I'm running stock Android 4.4.2 and using Camera Zoom as my photo app (photos show up in the Photo app just fine). I have Auto Backup turned on and it tells me the backup is up to date. If I sign out of the Photos app, sign back in, turn Auto Backup back on and tell it to "update all", it says "uploading 96 of 97 photos". Then nothing is uploaded.
I have it set to upload on cellular data and as far as I can tell, nothing is preventing the upload, except that Auto Backup thinks nothing needs to be uploaded. It's almost like the photos are being backed up somewhere that I just can't find. I'm only using one Google account on this phone, so where they'd be besides my Google+ account.
i'm trying to backup any folder on my nexus 5 all works fine but the Whatsapp Images folder won't back up, as soon as i flag the cloud icon appear Google play services crash, am i the only one? i've tried to restar the device but it's the same story...
I don't remember this being an issue with any phone prior. I've had a video on here since Friday. Just a 30 second clip of my daughter riding a carousel at the mall. I can't get it to backup. I've set it to mobile and wifi, I've set it to wifi only, I've tried forcing the backup. Nothing. The pics have backed up just fine. But not this one video.
on the marshmallow auto backup feature that saves app data to gdrive, does this also save the data like titaniuim backup does? or just the apps installed? I wonder if titanium is even needed on marshmallow now.
Both my wife and I have Auto Backup turned on in the Photos app. Almost invariably, when we take a look at the pictures in the app, the latest pictures have the little badness icon (triangle with an exclamation mark instead of the cloud with a check mark) on them. There's also a nice message at the top saying Auto Backup has failed. If we hit Retry, almost invariably, the backup happens fine and those icons convert to the goodness icons. This is while we're sitting in our house with a perfectly fine WiFi signal that we can use for any other process without trouble. I remember seeing something when the phones just came out about WiFi issues.
I am going mad! I cannot delete the auto backup album from my photo gallery. I deleted it from the Photos (Google+), but it is still showing on the gallery. How can I do it?
Bought the Nexus 5 I decide to start utilizing cloud storage more but I'm now facing a very irritating problem. In the Photos app when you view backed-up pics they are grouped by date. This is so frustrating since I have a bunch of albums with only one pic.
I have about forty pics people sent to me though WhatsApp and every single pic has it's own album. I have a separate folder for "family" "friends" "dance" things that make sense grouped together. I took the time to curate every pic into specific folders but auto back up jacks everything up.
So my accelerometer/gyroscope stopped working since I dropped my phone. I tried to calibrate it but without luck. I think it might be broken, can it be replaced?
Here's a video of testing the sensors - [URL] .....
So pretty much my auto rotate doesn't work even when its ticked or un-ticked and re-ticked, I even rebooted and nothing. Funny thing is that the accelerometer seems to work when I try a game that uses it..
Back story to what I did is I flashed factory 5.0 and tried to root flashing SuperSU but found it didn't work so had to use CF auto root to finally get root working. I then installed all my apps and just used Titanium backup to restore data to my apps not system data. I didn't realized it wasn't working till recently. Preferably not having to refresh everything...
I just recently fixed this same issue with my Nexus 7, but this is a whole different beast. I used Check My Android to check my accelerometers, and they are functioning just fine. I cleared my cache and then cleared/reformatted the partition. Then I did a factory reset because I was losing my mind. It's still not working. I went into the display settings to turn on the auto rotate manually and it will rotate with that screen up but not on my home screen or in any other app.
I keep getting auto backup failed of late. i had it set to wifi only. according to one person's fix, check the data manager and uncheck the mobile hotspot. but that isn't working. still keeps failing and i think it is just working the battery. also may have caused my wifi at home to crap out, as it was just causing traffic. I even checked the box to only upload when connected to a charger, but it still attempted to upload when not.
I activated the setting that allows syncing of photos only via charger and wifi. Due to the fact that i charge my phone at night its quite annoying that i get a notification at two in the morning. How do i cancel this specific notification?
Everyone is going to think that i mean no home screen rotate, but i mean no screen rotation at all. The only time the screen rotates is when watching the YouTube app. And then it wont rotate back until i go back to my home screen. I have it set to auto rotate in the pull down shade. I have checked the sensor with an app and its working. I have tried a soft restart and that didn't work.
auto screen brightness when I am outside and receive a call is so bad that I cannot see who is calling me . So I use max brightness when outside . Is there anyway way to change/adjust the auto screen brightness
I got a new Nexus 5, major upgrade from the iPhone 4 I was temporarily using after my Nexus 4 broke.
Well I took a ton of photos at a animi convention with the iPhone 4 a month ago. When I got the Nexus 5 I went to to ATT to transfer all the photos and texts.
I would like to manually auto awesome all the photos I took at the conversation. But when I go to do that all the photos taken with the iPhone 4.
Is there something I need to do to auto awesome these?
Following the L update I found I couldn't edit photos normally in Photos....just got 'Downloading resources etc' message. Eventually found a fix....turned off mobile data, turned on wifi, tried to edit a photo, got the message, clicked OK, and the editing tools downloaded. Photo editing now back to what it was before the update.
I'm not able to free up photo/video storage on my device - Nexus 5 running 5.1. I've deleted all photos and videos off the device itself. When I check "storage", I still see 1.7GB of storage being used under "Pictures, videos". When I click on "Pictures, Videos" in storage, there are no files. When I look in the "photos" app, again there are no files under "on device". The trash has been emptied. I rebooted the phone. No luck. Auto back-up is on, but as I stated, none of the photos are stored locally at this point. How do I free up this mysterious use of space?
I just want to confirm if others have the same problem on sending photos on whatsapp by using Gallery. I am not able to send any photos as attachment in whatsapp when using Gallery app. However, if I long hold the gallery icon, it enable me to choose Photos app and send the file from that app. Feels so annoying have to long hold the icon everytime I want to send photos.
My phone just fell from about two feet up and nothing physically happened to it. The only thing that happened is that it won't rotate anymore. I checked the auto rotate function and it is not on "portrait".
When the phone is connected to bluetooth in the car, an incoming call automatically answers. I don't always want to answer all calls, so would like to turn it off.
Verizon 32 GB Nexus 6, stock no root. 5.1.1. It won't autorotate. Display setting is set to autorotate and Accessibility setting is set to autorotate but it won't. Multiple on/off reboots with settings off and on. Cleared system cache. I downloaded Check My Android and it shows all sensors active and working normally. I downloaded Set Orientation and it won't change automatically. I can force it to landscape mode using the app but have to do it manually. The camera takes a picture in portrait and displays it either upside down or in landscape.
i just noticed yesterday that hangouts happens to initiate calls by itself.i'm on a N5, with android 5.1 and every app up to date.i noticed it when writing, all of the suddn the green bar "call in progress" drops down from the top.... it happened 10 times yesteraday and this morning i got noticed by a friend that i called him in the middle of the night..so was my N5 built on an ancient burial ground? or is the app buggy?
I have a Google Nexus 5 running Android 5.0.1 and have recently noticed that the time assigned to pictures taken with my phone are all time-stamped five hours later than when the pictures were actually taken. By time stamped I mean the time shown when I pull up the picture's details.
Given that it's exactly five hours off it seems to me that it's probably a time-zone issue. However, I've checked the settings on my phone under Settings/Date & Time and although both the date and time are set to Automatic Date & Time and Automatic Time Zone, the grayed out text below are showing the correct date, time and time zone. This makes sense since my phone displays the correct date and time across the board except for the photo details. Is this something that can be fixed by adjusting some settings I'm not aware of?
