View 3 RepliesI don't remember this being an issue with any phone prior. I've had a video on here since Friday. Just a 30 second clip of my daughter riding a carousel at the mall. I can't get it to backup. I've set it to mobile and wifi, I've set it to wifi only, I've tried forcing the backup. Nothing. The pics have backed up just fine. But not this one video.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBoth my wife and I have Auto Backup turned on in the Photos app. Almost invariably, when we take a look at the pictures in the app, the latest pictures have the little badness icon (triangle with an exclamation mark instead of the cloud with a check mark) on them. There's also a nice message at the top saying Auto Backup has failed. If we hit Retry, almost invariably, the backup happens fine and those icons convert to the goodness icons. This is while we're sitting in our house with a perfectly fine WiFi signal that we can use for any other process without trouble. I remember seeing something when the phones just came out about WiFi issues.
View 13 Replies View RelatedIn December, I accidentally slammed a car door on my beloved Nexus 4 and was lucky enough to replace it with a shiny new Nexus 5. The transition to the new phone was smooth, as anticipated, and I've been enjoying my N5.
Now my boss has me selling old computer crap that no one wants on eBay and I've run into a problem. I took pictures of the items with my N5 and went to download them from the Auto Backup so I could create the listings on a desktop.
But my Google+ Auto Backup pictures stop in December, showing only pictures from my N4.
I'm running stock Android 4.4.2 and using Camera Zoom as my photo app (photos show up in the Photo app just fine). I have Auto Backup turned on and it tells me the backup is up to date. If I sign out of the Photos app, sign back in, turn Auto Backup back on and tell it to "update all", it says "uploading 96 of 97 photos". Then nothing is uploaded.
I have it set to upload on cellular data and as far as I can tell, nothing is preventing the upload, except that Auto Backup thinks nothing needs to be uploaded. It's almost like the photos are being backed up somewhere that I just can't find. I'm only using one Google account on this phone, so where they'd be besides my Google+ account.
I am going mad! I cannot delete the auto backup album from my photo gallery. I deleted it from the Photos (Google+), but it is still showing on the gallery. How can I do it?
View 24 Replies View RelatedBought the Nexus 5 I decide to start utilizing cloud storage more but I'm now facing a very irritating problem. In the Photos app when you view backed-up pics they are grouped by date. This is so frustrating since I have a bunch of albums with only one pic.
I have about forty pics people sent to me though WhatsApp and every single pic has it's own album. I have a separate folder for "family" "friends" "dance" things that make sense grouped together. I took the time to curate every pic into specific folders but auto back up jacks everything up.
My Whatsapp is not working on wifi. It only works on mobile data. sometimes i receive messages on whatsapp but my messages do not go out (they remain as draft messages).
I was using another phone and changed to Nexus 5. Now my whatsapp does not work on wifi.
I can install whatsapp, but KitKat is not giving me the option to make it my default sms, it only lists hangouts.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter having an iphone for 4 years i just moved to nexus 5 and boy was it a harsh learning curve. Aint easy.
For some reason when a whatsapp pop up comes up on the locked screen and i press view it doesn't open up the lock screen, i have to press view and then manually unlock the phone. This doesn't happen when i get an sms pop up. Why is this? i played with every setting possible.
Also, when i watch a youtube video and get a whatsapp or sms notification it stops the video. This didn't happen on iphone and was wondering if ther is a way to change it.
I just want to confirm if others have the same problem on sending photos on whatsapp by using Gallery. I am not able to send any photos as attachment in whatsapp when using Gallery app. However, if I long hold the gallery icon, it enable me to choose Photos app and send the file from that app. Feels so annoying have to long hold the icon everytime I want to send photos.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince installation of WhatsApp on my (recently purchased) Nexus 5, when vibration setting is set to "default" in application, the phone does not vibrate on receipt of a new WhatsApp message, even while system settings are set to "Vibrate when Ringing".
It vibrates though when the WhatsApp vibration settings are set to 'Short' or 'Long'
So basically, the "default" mode in vibration settings of WhatsApp is not ruled by the system settings, rather follows the rule - Vibrate when the phone is set on silent, and do not vibrate when ringing is enabled.
Is this how it is supposed to work? Because as per my read around I got an impression that default mode is to govern the app notification as per system setting. Am I missing something?
I keep getting auto backup failed of late. i had it set to wifi only. according to one person's fix, check the data manager and uncheck the mobile hotspot. but that isn't working. still keeps failing and i think it is just working the battery. also may have caused my wifi at home to crap out, as it was just causing traffic. I even checked the box to only upload when connected to a charger, but it still attempted to upload when not.

I have checked the sensor with an app and its working. I have tried a soft restart and that didn't work.

P.S. I am using a nexus 5 ...
I got a new Nexus 5, major upgrade from the iPhone 4 I was temporarily using after my Nexus 4 broke.
Well I took a ton of photos at a animi convention with the iPhone 4 a month ago. When I got the Nexus 5 I went to to ATT to transfer all the photos and texts.
I would like to manually auto awesome all the photos I took at the conversation. But when I go to do that all the photos taken with the iPhone 4.
Is there something I need to do to auto awesome these?
So my accelerometer/gyroscope stopped working since I dropped my phone. I tried to calibrate it but without luck. I think it might be broken, can it be replaced?
Here's a video of testing the sensors - [URL] .....
So pretty much my auto rotate doesn't work even when its ticked or un-ticked and re-ticked, I even rebooted and nothing. Funny thing is that the accelerometer seems to work when I try a game that uses it..
Back story to what I did is I flashed factory 5.0 and tried to root flashing SuperSU but found it didn't work so had to use CF auto root to finally get root working. I then installed all my apps and just used Titanium backup to restore data to my apps not system data. I didn't realized it wasn't working till recently. Preferably not having to refresh everything...
My phone just fell from about two feet up and nothing physically happened to it. The only thing that happened is that it won't rotate anymore. I checked the auto rotate function and it is not on "portrait".

I downloaded Set Orientation and it won't change automatically. I can force it to landscape mode using the app but have to do it manually. The camera takes a picture in portrait and displays it either upside down or in landscape.

i just noticed yesterday that hangouts happens to initiate calls by itself.i'm on a N5, with android 5.1 and every app up to date.i noticed it when writing, all of the suddn the green bar "call in progress" drops down from the top.... it happened 10 times yesteraday and this morning i got noticed by a friend that i called him in the middle of the night..so was my N5 built on an ancient burial ground? or is the app buggy?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Nexus 6 settings unter Interruptions, I have "only allow priority interruptions" set, and priority interruptions have "calls" selected, while "events and reminders" and "messages" are deselected.
Despite this, I keep getting popups from Hangouts while I'm playing games. There is no way to mute Hangouts indefinitely, either. I am ready to throw my phone through the wall.
I have Hangouts notifications completely blocked now, but that's not really what I want. I just want it to not send pop-up notifications while I'm in another app. Seems like this should be a no-brainer.
I get a Kerrklunk Klink noise whenever the screen lights up on my Nexus 5 ,before I unlock the screen. Also periodically in the background during calls and when using navigation. Tried to find the answer on forums etc ( NFC is off) and scoured my apps but it's still there. It's a sound nowhere on my list of notification sounds btw

The Chronus clock works ok, but the battery meter will randomly stop updating. The Accuweather wigdet will also stop. If I remove and re-add the Accuweather app, all I get is the "Loading" screen.
I am on a Nexus 6 on the T-Mo network. Currently running OS 5.1.1, build LYZ28J.
As long as I can remember, my photos have been syncing to Dropbox as soon as I take them on my Nexus. I'm not sure how this started, but at first I thought it would be useful. However, now I'd like to stop it as I'm fed up with having multiple copies everywhere. But I don't know how to stop it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedTasker or any other program to automatically turn the media volume to max? This is convenient as I want the volume maxed out when I connect to my cars bluetooth (otherwise I really have to crank up the stereo volume), but I don't want media volume on max when not connected. In the past I have used one of two apps (Tasker or Bluetooth Connect & Play). Both of these apps are having issues adjusting the media volume when they worked perfectly on my pre kitkat phones. Sometimes it works correctly and maxes out the volume, other times it doesn't change it at all.
