also, Drive mode wont say off.

My wife hates the swipe method of answering . Is there an app which might show "answer"or"decline" on screen.
Stock 4.4.4.
Rooted
Locked
If I am using another app and receive a phone call, I am not able to answer it. The navigation buttons stop responding and the pull down drawer won't allow me to answer. I noticed this behavior over the last few weeks.
This is happening often. When I have an incoming call the call screen appears and phone rings. I go to answer by dragging the icon to the green answer icon and nothing happens. The phone continues to ring. Trying to drag to the red ignore call icon has the same result. Eventually the caller gets sent to voicemail, but the phone remains locked in this state and needs to be rebooted before it is operational again. I thought it was related to teh phone being in a lockscreen state, but it now appears to be random. I have contacted Google and they said they have not heard of this issue before. Essentially it is unusuable as a phone.

Insufficient resources go to theme menu and reset. I cannot find a theme menu anywhere. Not in settings, nor elsewhere, any way other than factory reset?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone just fell from about two feet up and nothing physically happened to it. The only thing that happened is that it won't rotate anymore. I checked the auto rotate function and it is not on "portrait".
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently fixed this same issue with my Nexus 7, but this is a whole different beast. I used Check My Android to check my accelerometers, and they are functioning just fine. I cleared my cache and then cleared/reformatted the partition. Then I did a factory reset because I was losing my mind. It's still not working. I went into the display settings to turn on the auto rotate manually and it will rotate with that screen up but not on my home screen or in any other app.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen my phone is connected to my car's bluetooth (Belkin Aircast) it auto picks up after the first ring. This is very annoying for 2 reasons:
1) If I don't want to speak to the person I should be able to ignore it.
2) When the call comes in and I'm listening to the stereo I have to switch to the auxiliary before I can use the phone but the person calling hears whatever I'm listening to.
Anyway to disable the auto answer?
The only way I can turn on my Nexus 5 now is using adb and a computer. Is there a way to possibly turn on my phone on the road? Without the use of a computer?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 5 running Android Kit Kat 4.4.2. Overall this is a great phone but i am facing some issues that i will describe below:
1) This i noticed 2 months ago. I dont know if it still has it: I was calling a friend and he didnt answer. Then the whole day i was waiting for him to call back but he never did (at least according to my phone). When i called him again he told me that he called me back, the phone rang 3 times and then he got the message we get when someone rejects the call or the phone is out of battery. I never had a missing call to know that he called back. This is a very tricky error, since maybe you are missing incoming calls from your boss. To you it appears like you never received the call, but to your boss it seems like you are ignoring him. Not a good thing.
2) This is a problem i am getting for the last 2 months. When someone calls and the device is sleeping, i hear the ringing, i unlock the phone but what i get is the main page of the device. No incoming call notification, no dialer, nothing.Only the ringtone. If i press the phone app i get 3 choices:
a) use touch tone keypad
b)return to call in process
c)add call
Pressing "return to call in process" doesnt do a thing. To see who has called you, you must go to the missed calls after the ringing is over. Also if you dont restart the device, the problem stays there. The only solution is to restart the device. After restarting the device the problem goes away for 2-3 days and then it happens again.
I dont know if other Nexus 5 owners are experiencing the same problems, but since a smart phone is based on making and receiving calls, these 2 problems must be addressed by Google ASAP.
Also, i am not willing to factory reset my device, if i am not sure that this will 100% solve the problem.
PS1: My device is NOT rooted.
PS2: My brother's Nexus 4 started having the same problem (problem number 2) after updating to Kit Kat 4.4.2. But not in the same frequency as my Nexus 5.
I was wondering if there's any way to change the behavior of audio routing when answering calls from the device itself. Bluetooth headset is connected > a call > the call answered from the device itself (not from headset button) > The problem: Call audio is still routed to the headset..Bluetooth headset is connected > a call > the call answered from the device itself (not from headset button) > Call audio it routed to the device earpiece..Bluetooth headset is connected > a call > the call answered from headset button > Call audio it routed to the headset?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it just me or does WiFi turn off when you get an incoming phone call? When I am at home, I am hooked up to wifi. When I get a call on my N5, I can see the wifi disconnect, it connects to LTE, then the phone rings. When I hang up, WiFi will reconnect.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy phone recently today just randomly turned off. I thought it was my charger that wasn't working, but I tried using my friend's charger and it was my phone that wasn't working. I tried charging it again, but now it just shows "Google" and turns off again.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was playing on my Nexus 5 and it got very heated but I didn't turn it off or give it a rest until approx 10 minutes later. I had to go somewhere so I didn't check it after I locked it and put it in my bag. When I did check it around 15 minutes later, I couldn't turn on the phone so I assumed the battery had ran out of juice. I got home 5 hours later and plugged in the charger, immediately turning it on. However, when I turned it on, I saw that it still had 38% so I did some stuff on it when the app I was using said I had no connection.
I reconnected to my WiFi but it still said I had no connection. I unplugged it and turned off the phone, but then I couldn't turn it on again. So I charged it again, and attempted to turn it on while still charging but all it would give me was the Google logo (which is the first thing that shows up when you turn on a Nexus 5) for about 2 seconds and then it would turn off again, even while plugged in. Now when it's charging, it keeps going to the Google logo for 2 seconds, shows a black screen for 3 seconds, goes back to the Google logo and keeps repeating this cycle.

So just got nexus 5 for my wife and wanted to know how do you turn off the camera sound?
I've read everything from turning ringer volume down to rooting the device.
I can't believe there isn't a way without doing the above.
A few days ago my Google Nexus 5 began constantly rebooting for no apparent reason. Most times when the phone rebooted it would not even get past the Goolge logo before rebooting again. Occasionally the phone would go farther at which point it would say that it was optimizing apps. Sometimes it would reboot again right in the middle of this process. I was not connected to WiFi at the time this whole thing began so it should not have been updating in the first place.
On the rare occasions that the phone started up completely I tried running it in Safe Mode, clearing the cache and doing a factory reset in the hopes that the issue is being caused by an app, all to no avail!!!! NOW THE PHONE WON'T EVEN TURN ON!!!!
So I was on my way back from vacation yesterday, I had made a phone call a few minutes prior, and I noticed my screen wasn't coming on.Tried holding the power button - nothing.Tried charging - nothing.Tried every combo I could find on google, held them for minutes - nothing.Let it charge for an hour or so - nothing. Then randomly it started allowing me to get to the "Google" splash screen, then the screen would go black and become unresponsive again.
It's gotten a little better, but it is extremely random, sometimes I can get into recovery (TWRP), sometimes I can get the phone to charge, and sometimes it will do nothing at all. After getting into recovery a few times, I noticed that my SD card was wiped (only a TWRP folder remains) and it wasn't a few minutes before that - I did not wipe it.It will not boot, and trying to mount via USB doesn't work - it doesn't allow me to copy any files to try and re-flash the OS (stock rooted 6.0.1 with elemental x).Tried ADB push with no luck, it says file system is read-only.
I can un-toggle System / Data etc in TWRP to unmount them, but clicking to mount them does nothing, the box remains unchecked, and trying to do other things, such as start adb sideload, results in a buttload of mount /system errors..Battery is full (when I can get the phone to charge) and is a new OEM battery.Tried charging, not charging, and plugged into a USB port on my PC...does this sound like the internal memory is shot? How I can revive my lil' buddy???
I'm running stock 5.1.1, and even though my auto brightness is off my phone occasionally dims my display when it's on full brightness. It's not running particularly hot (37 degrees C according to my battery widget) so I don't know what's causing it to dim.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently i got careless and i accidentally cracked my nexus 5 screen after dropping it on the ground
Currently the touch screen works but there is a problem. I am unable to answer calls as the screen goes black and does not turn on again until the person has hung up or until i reset the phone. Also when i try to call out the screen turns black as well and exhibits the same symptoms as listed above.
From people who have had experience with cracked Nexus 5 screens, do you think replacing the digitizer + lcd will fix this issue or did i screw up something big
I have this issue a couple of times where I am getting a incoming call as I can here my ringtone but nothing is displaying on the screen so I can't answer it.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI don't remember this being an issue with any phone prior. I've had a video on here since Friday. Just a 30 second clip of my daughter riding a carousel at the mall. I can't get it to backup. I've set it to mobile and wifi, I've set it to wifi only, I've tried forcing the backup. Nothing. The pics have backed up just fine. But not this one video.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have the following issues:
-(When i lock my phone or when it locks itself it reboots) fixed
-I can't turn on wifi and bluetooth
-(Can't copy files to phone) fixed
I tried this [URL] .... but in the step [URL].....
I don't get any problems. I did the second command but it also didn't solve the issue that I can't copy files. I tried resetting to factory settings twice, didn't do anything. I tried putting it in the refrigerator but didn't do anything.
99% sure it's hardware issue, gonna RMA the phone.
I was trying out several different dialer apps. All was going well until I suddenly lost my dialer controls altogether. I tried going back to Hangouts and good dialers, but no luck. I even cleared/rebuilt device cache from the Startup menu.
Here is what's happening:
1. After I dial a number and hit the 'dial' key, it starts dialing. At the same time the dialer app goes away and I cannot get back to call controls. Cannot pull up the numeric pad.
2. From the top pull down menu I used to see a "call in progress" option which took me to the dialer controls. It is not there anymore.
3. The phone rings when I get an incoming call, but there are no controls to pick up or ignore.
Some additional information as this appears to be a tough one:
The last dialer app that may have caused this was 'ExDialer'. After I installed it, it started acting this way. After I uninstalled it and cleared the device cache, it remained the same no matter what dialer I choose.
My phone randomly shut off and then I when I turn it back on. the infinite boot logo appear. I installed clockworld. tried to reformat everything and reinstall stock image and still nothing.
