My phone just fell from about two feet up and nothing physically happened to it. The only thing that happened is that it won't rotate anymore. I checked the auto rotate function and it is not on "portrait".
View 1 RepliesI just recently fixed this same issue with my Nexus 7, but this is a whole different beast. I used Check My Android to check my accelerometers, and they are functioning just fine. I cleared my cache and then cleared/reformatted the partition. Then I did a factory reset because I was losing my mind. It's still not working. I went into the display settings to turn on the auto rotate manually and it will rotate with that screen up but not on my home screen or in any other app.

The only time the screen rotates is when watching the YouTube app. And then it wont rotate back until i go back to my home screen. I have it set to auto rotate in the pull down shade. I have checked the sensor with an app and its working. I have tried a soft restart and that didn't work.

Back story to what I did is I flashed factory 5.0 and tried to root flashing SuperSU but found it didn't work so had to use CF auto root to finally get root working. I then installed all my apps and just used Titanium backup to restore data to my apps not system data. I didn't realized it wasn't working till recently. Preferably not having to refresh everything...
Verizon 32 GB Nexus 6, stock no root. 5.1.1. It won't autorotate. Display setting is set to autorotate and Accessibility setting is set to autorotate but it won't. Multiple on/off reboots with settings off and on. Cleared system cache. I downloaded Check My Android and it shows all sensors active and working normally. I downloaded Set Orientation and it won't change automatically. I can force it to landscape mode using the app but have to do it manually. The camera takes a picture in portrait and displays it either upside down or in landscape.

My screen will not auto-rotate when I move the phone.If I open an app or watch a video that is in landscape it till rotate, but when I close the app/video the screen will not rotate back.I have to turn off the screen, rotate the phone and the unlock the phone to get the screen to rotate.I have my display settings set to auto-rotate.I have this issue using Blur launcher, GoLauncher, and ADW.

Sometimes it will get stuck in landscape. I'll have to go from portrait back to landscape to get it to rotate back to portrait
To narrow it down if I lock the phone in landscape the unlock it via fingerprint sensor it happens
When the phone is connected to bluetooth in the car, an incoming call automatically answers. I don't always want to answer all calls, so would like to turn it off.

I've tried in the browser and also opera.I've gone to Settings->Display and auto-rotate is ticked. I did a G-Sensor calibration and that didn't help either.Is it possible that the accelerometer is broken? How can I test it to see if it's working?I also tried to play Replica Island using the accelerometer and the robot won't move no matter which way I tilt the phone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got an HTC One a few days ago and love it. However, I can't get the screen to rotate no matter what I do. I've tried toggling the 'auto-rotate screen' option on and off and on again. Tried doing a reset. Numerous reboots... When I run G-Sensor calibration, it says 'Calibrating' for a few seconds and then says 'Calibration stopped'. Also tried booting into safe mode and get the same results. Haven't used Android since 2009ish or so, so I'm not too familiar with all the settings and such... is there a setting or switch somewhere that I'm missing? Or does this sound like a hardware issue?

Recently bought my wife a 1320, as my son loves his 920 and she was getting sick of her Galaxy S3 having issues following an update, which has messed her phone up !All was going well, but she's now finding that the phone won't auto-rotate when browsing - it works fine when viewing photos or texting etc., so assume the accelerometers are working ok..
Also, have changed settings on outlook, to remove US holidays and have added UK holidays, but the UK dates haven't pulled through to the phone......am I missing something `?Lastly - blootooth keeps dropping out.
Is it possible to get the home screen to rotate without having to open the keyboard?
