Google Nexus 5 :: Titanium Backup License File Not Recognized On SDcard
Nov 10, 2013
My Titanium Backup license file (txt) was not recognized on the sdcard. I tried almost everything. Uninstalled, reinstalled and so on. I also placed the file in the mnt/sdcard folder what didn't wok. I owned several devices and never had a single problem. There must be something nexus specific?
I already had installed Titanium Backup on my Nexus 5 but after changing to ART didnt worked any more cause it wasnt compatible, but okay so far no problem. But now i reflashed Cataclysm Rom (so no Titanium Backup installed) and Multiboot and so i wanted to backup my data for the second Rom but now i cant install Titanium Backup on my primary Rom, doesnt matter if i run in ART or change to DALVIK i even tried the newest version wich should run also with ART. It shows every time the error it couldn't be installed, during installprocess.
I'm using Titanium Backup and my backup folder used to be a USB-drive I mounted with Stickmount.
Now, with Android 6, Stickmount no longer works for me and the built-in USB-OTG mount takes over and mounts the USB drive to /mnt/media_rw/SOMEFOLDER.
But with Titanium Backup, I can't access this folder (folder chooser has no permission to move into this folder).
So, is there a possibility to access the USB drive in another way or do I have to do backups to the internal storage and move it to the USB drive manually?
I'm a chronic rom flasher and repairing my Bluetooth devices every time is getting extremely tiring. So, I did a little researching and found out that titanium backup can backup and restore Bluetooth parings. However, my question is, what do I backup? What's the name of the system app that I need to backup?
I'm currently on pure nexus/ then restored stock and titanium backup is displaying an insufficient storage error when trying to back up an app. Also, I can't download anything from Firefox or chrome.I've reflashed the ROM and it didn't solve my issues. What can I do to fix this?
I went to the Verizon place a couple of days ago to see if they could get my phone to stop freezing and running slow. Well they accidentally deleted over half my pictures and my phone is the only place I have those pictures. Well luckily, I thought, I have a backup file and my pictures will be on there. But whenever I try to run it I get the error "data not recognized by desktop!" Some of these pictures are really really important to me and I want them back. Is there anything I can do to make the backup file work? Will it even contain the pictures? I have a blackberry storm and the verizon place said I have the most updated software.
I would like to access a file on my SDCard directly from a link in the Notes section of my Tasks application.
I am able to put a link there and access a web page, simply by typing a web address (e.g. http://www.sample.com), which converts to a link after I close and re-open the task. From an open browser window, I am also able to access a file that exists on my SDCard (e.g. file:///SDCard/BlackBerry/documents/sample.pdf will go fetch the file and then open my default PDF reader just as it ought to). But when I type "file:///SDCard/BlackBerry/...etc..." into the notes section, it remains as text, and does not get recognized as/ converted to a link to the file.
After upgrading to marshmallow, the internal storage is no longer accessible from my computer. It only works when on twrp recovery mode. Already turned off USB debugging, changed MTP and back, reinstalled the latest ADB drivers, removed the ADB drivers completely and no cigar.
I bought my nexus 5 the day it was launched. Worked great for 2 yeas+. Now is dead. It's a long story.
One day simply died. I pluged it to charge it and turn on and off constantly (boot loop). I watched some videos on youtube where people constrantly press the power button and after a moment, it worked. But eventualy stop working again and it never boot again.
I can't access fastboot, nothing. I researched again and found that the power button could be damaged. So I removed it and install a new one and SURPRISE. The loop was gone, it charges, but the power button doesn't seem to be working...or could be another thing!!!
When I plug it to the USB, the PC recognize it, but as "other device". However, it call it "Android". Can't understand.
If I search for adb devices on the command line, it founds nothing.
If adb devices could find it, maybe i'll be able to boot it from the command line, right?
So I think something on my USB port has malfunctioned... it won't show up in the device manager when I plug it in.I have tried the sticky thread on Diagnosing USB Driver and ADB issues in Windows. I have searched the forums and internet and tried lots of driver installs and restart this and that.
Recently this started when I wanted to flash Android 6.0 to my phone. During the install with NRT after each erase and flash it would say Waiting for device, and the only way I would get it to proceed was to plug the USB and plug it back in... Now running Android 6.0 it won`t even recognize my device and won`t pop up the menu to choose your usb connection setting.I have two Nexus 7, one Nexus 7 (2013), and another Nexus 5... and they all work fine and get recognized by the computer.
I got an new sd memorycard in present "from the santaclaus" but i have a lot of files and music on my old memorycard(also microcard). How can i easy transfer my files from the first sd card too my new sd card?
i'm trying to backup any folder on my nexus 5 all works fine but the Whatsapp Images folder won't back up, as soon as i flag the cloud icon appear Google play services crash, am i the only one? i've tried to restar the device but it's the same story...
I don't remember this being an issue with any phone prior. I've had a video on here since Friday. Just a 30 second clip of my daughter riding a carousel at the mall. I can't get it to backup. I've set it to mobile and wifi, I've set it to wifi only, I've tried forcing the backup. Nothing. The pics have backed up just fine. But not this one video.
This week something very odd has been happening on my phone. When I open Textra to send a text, it asks me if I want to make it my default app for messages. For some reason, my default messaging app keeps changing to Titanium backup. Why is that even an option? If I change it back to Textra, the change only lasts about a day.
i've just installed my brand new galaxy s6 edge (G925F) and i've done a bad move...i've restored a lot of thing from my old LG G4, using Titanium Backup, and i've restored the twh "hotspot wifi" things (the one with 101 and the one with xml written). ("points d'accs wifi" in french so i 'm not sure if it's "hotspot" or not)And now, i can't unable wifi anymore. When i try to switch the wifi toogle "on", it automaticly goes "off".
I use Ray under official 2.3.4 / built 4.0.2.A.0.62 -> This built is not rootable as indicated on XDA and failed with UnlockRoot.
1. I bought with my previous smartphone Titanium BackUp Pro to backup and manage my Android Phone. Do i have to forget this with my Xperia Ray ?
2. I never use Twitter app, Facebook app, fun to download app, video unlimited app that are automatically loaded on boot. When i go to manage apps menu, i only can "force stop" for those apps. So how can i uninstall or unload them on boot? without be able to root my phone ? adb is a solution ?
3. For some reasons i want to keep wifi connection active even if my phone is in sleep mode, can i manage WiFi sleep policy without root permissions?
It says my iphone backup file was corrupted and I was asked to delete my backup file.where could I find the backup file to delete? I've searched everywhere and I couldnt find it.
I just got this Titanium My office usually sends me appointment requests from outlook through my work email. It's not exchange email, just generic email. They used to automatically appear on my BB calendar. I receive the emails on the T but they're blank except for the prompt to open/save the attachment. If I open the attachment, the calendar event is in 'raw' format. If I save it, it stores it as 'unkown attachment' on the sd card. It doesn't get added to my calendar. I've got outlook 2007 on my pc and tried it from my personal account (not gmail), same results. I set up forwarding all email from my work's website to my gmail account. When it gets to gmail, I have to click on the email then choose 'add to calendar' or it does nothing. I need it to be automatic. My calendar type is google. I have sync options set to auto and I've cleared the data from the calendar as posted by someone else who had a problem with calendar syncing) Creating an appointment on the gmail website works fine, it appears on my phone quickly. This seems kind of convoluted. If my fellow employees switch to Android this will be a PITA. Is there an automatic way of doing this?
My nexus 5 worked perfectly with Android File Transfer, and suddenly, about a week ago it stopped working, nothing has changed in that week, except that AFT was behaving in an unexpected manner and I force quit it several times. The device shows charging but no connection. When I open AFT, it says plug in the Android device.
I did usual troubleshooting:
1) checked on the mac attached devices, my phone wasn't one of them 2) re-installed Android File Transfer, same issue 3) trying changing the settings on the device - turning off and on the USB debugging, changing type of connection with the computer from Media device to camera and back. 4) Restarted both devices and tried various cables, still nothing.
My nexus 5 is caught in the bootloop on marshmallow and I dont know how to even begin to address the problem. Power button isn't stuck as far as I can tell and I can't get android file transfer to even detect it for obvious reasons. I presume I need to flash a new version of the OS to my phone but that has never been my area of expertise.
Basically, I have a Nexus 5 which has damage to the connection between the mainboard and USB/display daughterboard meaning no display or external connectivity. I don't cloud sync my photos and the last manual backup of the phone was in July. Since then I've been on holiday and my son has been born so some quite important events as you can imagine.
The phone still boots but with obviously no method of connectivity I've hit a brick wall. The only option I think I have is a wireless file transfer.
Recently I discovered that I could not open PNG type file attachments. LP would just spin it's wheels with no display. The solution was to install an app which could handle PNG file types ... Fast Image Viewer.
Then I realized I needed more control over which apps are used with specific file types.
(Similiar to Windows Open With option.)
I discovered the app ... Better Open With ... which permits the user some control and visibility.
BOW permits the user to set the default app used to open each catergory of file types.
You also can change the default app as desired...and override the default if needed.
The app replaces the Android "Complete Action Using" function.
So far so good ... I have more control! I do wish it listed the actual file types ... not just file categories.
